5. Blythe
Chapter Five
BLYTHE
Istared at the closed door with my mouth wide open.
No man in my adult years has ever talked to me like that.
I wanted to scream and throw something at his stupid ass.
No way he just called me a bitch. I stood up and paced my office thinking of all the vial things I would do to him in my playroom to knock that fucking smirk off his lips.
Making him beg would be my greatest pleasure.
Soft knocks sounded at my door. I assumed it was Pharaoh coming back to apologize.
My body tingled at the thought of it being him on the other side of the door.
You would think I would be angry and rushing to the door like a raging bull after he called me a bitch, but I was actually kind of excited and nervous to be back in a closed space with him.
I smoothed down my dress and stood by my desk before calling for him to come in.
“What the hell happened? That fine dark ass man told me to go check on you and help you pick your lip up.” Autumn came in and shut the door behind her. She snorted before falling out laughing at his words. I stormed to my seat and plopped down in my chair.
“The shits not funny Autumn.” I fussed shuffling papers around on my desk.
“I’m sorry Suga. But seriously what happened?
” She sat down in front of me and waited for me to tell her what happened.
“Well, I assumed he is here for the partner position so I kind of snapped. After telling his ass all I do for this firm, he called me a bitch and told me to send everything in an email.” I fabricated the story slightly.
After playing it in my mind I knew I was out of line for my tone.
“He called you a bitch?” She frowned at me waiting for the confirmation. Knowing my girl, she was gonna wreak havoc on his ass and not give a fuck whose son he was.
“Not exactly. He said I was acting like one. But still. Sounds to me like he called me one.”
“Nah hoe. Don’t do that. You almost got that fine ass man beat up in front of his momma. I don’t play that. You bout to start some mess that don’t need to be started.”
“He still doesn’t know me to be calling me out my name.”
“Blythe, be so for real. You are a straight bitch with no chaser. Everyone in this damn office can get your wrath with no real reason. You just mad that someone finally met your shit head on.” I sat back in my seat with my arms folded over my chest. She was right, I was definitely known as the bitch in the office.
I still didn’t appreciate it being said out loud in my face.
“You can’t tell me it didn’t turn your ass on though. Him putting you in your place probably got you throbbing down there.” She wiggled her index finger in the direction of my legs. I crossed them and rolled my eyes.
“Exactly. Well, if your lip is successfully back in tack. I will leave you; I have work to do.” She sashayed away and I gave her the finger before she left out the room. “I love you too boo.” She winked and closed my door behind herself.
I hated to admit but they were both right.
I was wrong for the way I came at him. He was brought here to do a job and regardless of what that job was I should remain professional.
He is the son of the CEO; my ass probably blew every chance I had of becoming partner.
And why the hell did it turn me on so much him checking me like that.
Pharaoh McCallum was fine as fuck and may be my match.
I decided to be petty; hell, I was pretty sure I wouldn’t make partner anyway.
Might as well gain back my dominance. I sent his ass the email he requested along with a note telling him we did not need to meet because my documents were thorough and outlined everything he needed to know.
I refused to kiss his ass just to make partner, even if I was wrong in my approach.
If his mother couldn’t see my worth, I wouldn’t beg her either.
I control all aspects of my life and if my worth wasn’t acknowledged I would move on.
Honestly, I just didn’t want him back in close proximity to me or in my office.
He made the hairs on my skin stand at attention and flooded my stomach with butterflies.
He was the worst kind of temptation for a girl like me.
Bastard. But why couldn’t I stop thinking about his ass?
I didn’t tolerate disrespect and rudeness and yet I didn’t have a single comeback when he was sitting in front of me.
I closed my eyes and envisioned me tying his ass to my X cross.
I knew it would give me satisfaction making his arrogant ass submit to me.
Scraping my nails deep across his dark chocolate skin damn near drawing blood.
Biting his nipples while I stroked him agonizingly slow.
Him begging me to release. But I would love his large hands squeezing my breast. His head between my thighs sucking my juices from my throbbing clit.
I crossed my legs and squeezed at the thought trying to relieve the throbbing sensation.
Shaking my head I snapped out of my thoughts.
Never have I ever even considered a man touching any part of me but here I was allowing the asshole to invade my thoughts and touch me.
I really needed to get my shit together.
Iended up working for a few hours before I shut it down for the night.
I had a slight headache, and I just wanted to go home and lay down but I had a scheduled nail appointment with my bestie.
Making my way out the office I noticed Pharaoh talking to the office receptionist. She was leaning over the counter with her breast oozing out of her top that was way too tight for work.
Autumn and I couldn’t stand her ass, she was known to be the office jump off.
Anyone that talked to her she was ready to give it up no questions asked.
The office scandals always had something to do with her.
One time she was dragged across her desk by one of the accountant’s wives.
She was sneaking to the hotel across the street after work with him.
Somehow pictures of them got leaked to his wife and she came and fucked them both up.
As far as I know she was written up and put on a disciplinary action from HR and He resigned.
So, the fact she was sitting here blushing and giggling uncontrollably was pissing me off, like girl you ain’t learned from the last bullshit.
His ass was not that damn funny anyway, but you couldn’t tell her he wasn’t Bernie damn Mac.
“Oh, hey. You heading out Blythe?” Her ass looked up and spoke. She had a slight smirk on her face like she wanted me to notice who she was talking to. I rolled my eyes and continued my stride.
“Yes, I am. Have a great night, Hoemisha.” I could hear Pharaoh laughing before he started coughing to play it off.
“It’s Tamisha.” She responded with aggravation in her tone.
“Yea, that’s what I said. Have a good night y’all.
” I pressed the button on the elevator and walked on as soon as it arrived.
I turned just before the doors shut and met eyes with Pharaoh.
He was shaking his head at me. I shrugged my shoulders letting him know I didn’t care about getting her name wrong.
He winked with a smirk on his face just as the doors shut.
He was definitely going to be a problem. In all my years I had never been upset about a female talking to a guy but yet she I was slightly irritated that they were laughing and joking together. I wanted to slap the smug look off both their faces. But neither one of them would be worth it.
Making it to the underground garage I could feel the chill in the crisp evening air.
The season was changing and I could smell the fall approaching.
Fall was my favorite time of the year. It wasn’t overwhelmingly hot and I could wear my dark colors without someone asking me if I was hot in my black.
The shit was annoying and I hated the question every time.
My mother’s birthday was also in the fall, and I loved seeing her excited about growing another year older.
Thinking of her I got excited about the fact that she may be able to come home soon.
She was up for a hearing to parole. If everything went as planned, she would be home for the holidays.
When I talked to her about it, she said she would stay with my aunt.
She missed her one and only sister and I couldn’t blame her for wanting to stay there.
She also wanted me to find a man and settled down.
She asked for grandkids countless times.
But I wasn’t sure if I could give her that.
Her excitement did make me excited though.
I knew she would make an amazing grandma, and my kids would be loved unconditionally.
Making it to my car my smile turned to a frown when I noticed a red paper under my windshield wiper. I looked around seeing if anyone was around. The parking garage had a lot more cars than usual for this time of day. Yet I didn’t notice anyone around or lights on in any of the cars.
I got closer examining the paper. It wasn’t a paper but an envelope.
My name was scribbled in black marker, and I went to reach for it.
My heart rate increased at the idea of someone watching me.
But who would be watching me. I knew a lot of people but most of them were clients or subs.
And they for damn sure didn’t know what I drive.
Just as my hand touched the windshield wiper to lift it up, a hand grabbed mine and I jumped, screamed and reached for pearly, my Glock 9mm that I kept in my thigh holster.
The security guard’s hands shot up to the air removing his grasp when he noticed me reaching for my pistol.
“Hey Ms. Blythe, it’s me.” He spoke, his hands unmoved from the position above his head. “I’m sorry I frightened you.” I exhaled deep and moved my hand from my holster.
