Chapter 9 #2

I found an old frame in the closet that the sketch fit in and I sealed it in there. I hoped he didn’t mind me using it, and I tried not to overthink the gesture.

I wanted to give it to him as a surprise, so I kept it in my room away from the other presents. A smile curved my lips just thinking about it.

I threw on one of Enzo’s sweaters that were way too big for me and some warm leggings, then went out into the living room. Enzo was in the kitchen, but food was already set out on the table.

“Merry Christmas,” I said.

He turned around and gave me that sexy half grin of his. “Merry Christmas. Ready for breakfast?”

I nodded, then sat down, eyeing the spread of food. “You made so much.”

He shrugged as he came over to the table with his coffee. “My mom always made a big breakfast on Christmas. She wanted to keep us full until dinner time.”

“That’s sweet.” I didn’t know where to start. Enzo had made eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, pancakes, waffles, fruit salad, and hash browns.

I put a little bit of everything on my plate and Enzo did the same. After we ate, we cleaned up the dishes, then went into the living room to open presents.

“Ladies first,” Enzo said as he handed me my first gift.

I was smiling from ear to ear as I opened it. It was a gold necklace with my initial on it.

My chest tightened. “I love it. Can you put it on me?”

After Enzo put on the necklace for me, I looked down and made sure it was centered. “Thank you.”

I handed him his first gift. I could tell he was fighting a smile as he opened it, enjoying the situation more than he would ever admit.

He raised his brows as he held up the smart watch. “I actually needed a new watch so thanks.”

I felt so proud of myself. “Next round.”

Enzo chuckled and handed me another gift. It was one of those cameras that printed the pictures out instantly. “I’ve always wanted one of these.”

I took a picture of him and he frowned.

“Don’t be a grinch,” I laughed as I grabbed the tiny film that printed out and waved it. I set it on the coffee table then handed Enzo his second gift.

We took turns opening presents until there were no more under the tree. In addition to the camera and necklace, Enzo had gotten me a beauty gift set, a book annotation kit, and …

The same massager I’d gotten him.

Go figure.

I got up and stepped over the wrapping paper crumbled all over the floor to sit on Enzo’s lap. I hugged him tightly. “Thank you.”

“For what?” he asked as we pulled away.

I shrugged, unable to stop smiling. “The tree, the gifts, putting up with me.”

He smirked. “It is a lot of work.”

I roughly nudged his shoulder with mine. “You love it and you know it.”

He looked at me in a way that made my stomach knot and my chest tighten. The hardened frown he seemed to always have was gone as our eyes locked.

After a few seconds, he cleared his throat and darted his gaze away. “I have one more gift for you.”

The moment between us basically forgotten, I hopped up. “I have one for you too.”

He arched a brow. “Really?”

I nodded. “It’s in my room. Let me go grab it.”

When I came back with the gift, Enzo turned the corner from the other hall. He handed me the small box, wrapped haphazardly like the others.

My heart was pounding as I opened the extra present, wondering why he decided to gift me something other that what we had agreed upon.

I opened the box and took out the metal object that was inside. I wasn’t sure what it was at first, but when I flipped it open, it was obvious.

“My dad gave me that when I was a kid. On the back is the coordinates to this cabin.” He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. “I want you to have it in case you need to find your way back here.”

I didn’t know what to say at first, and although he had told me why he gave me the compass, I felt like it wasn’t the whole truth. There felt like there was so much unspoken behind the gift and I wished he would just tell me how he felt.

Because it felt like he wanted me to come back to him once this was over.

“Thank you. I love it,” I replied. I really did, especially because I knew the compass meant something to him, and Enzo rarely talked about his emotions.

I handed him his gift. “I hope you like it.”

“You didn’t have to get me anything extra,” he commented as he started tearing the paper.

I smiled. “Neither did you.”

When he finally revealed the framed sketch, his eyes ran over it intently. “Is that me?”

“Yeah. Most of the time I thought you were going to pace a hole in the floor in front of that window, but sometimes when you just stood there watching, you seemed so peaceful.”

Enzo brought his gaze to mine, but didn’t say anything.

His silence made me nervous, so I started rambling, “I’m a little rusty so it’s not the greatest and I shouldn’t have sketched you without your permission, but I just really wanted to capture the moment and—”

Chuckling, he put a finger to my lips. “Gia, stop. I love it.”

My heart skipped a beat. “Really?”

“Yes. It’s amazing. I can’t believe you drew this.”

Pride swelled in my chest. “It took a while for me to get it just right.”

The way he was looking at me made my stomach flip. “Thank you.”

He kissed me on the cheek, then hugged me. We stood there embracing one another for several moments, and I didn’t want it to end.

I wanted a hundred more Christmases just like this one.

As Enzo pulled away and smiled down at me, my abdomen coiled with desire. He’d done so much to make Christmas special for me since he knew how upset I was to miss it with my family.

I tiptoed up to kiss him, lazily draping my arms around his neck and pressing my body against his. He instantly reciprocated, his hands on the small of my back pulling me closer.

The kiss deepened as I slipped my tongue in his mouth, tangling with his with ease. I didn’t have experience to compare to, but everything felt so perfect and natural between us, like it was meant to be.

Enzo’s hands moved down to my ass and I forced him to his favorite chair by the fireplace. When he bumped into it, I started pulling at his clothes, and within seconds we were both naked.

Breaking the kiss, I pushed him into the chair, then straddled him. I needed him inside me like I needed air to breath. I grabbed his thick cock and guided it to my entrance, then slowly sank down on it, making both of us moan in pleasure.

“Fuck, Gia, you’re going to be the death of me,” Enzo grunted as I started to rock my hips.

I closed my eyes, savoring every moment of us. The thought that we would end once we left the cabin flashed in my mind, but I pushed it aside, trying to focus on how perfect we felt together.

Enzo’s hands and lips roamed my body, sending tingles all along my skin. “You’re fucking perfect, baby. That pussy hugs my dick so good.”

“Yes,” I moaned. I never wanted him to stop, never wanted to separate from him. I just wanted him inside me for as long as I could have him.

We moved together effortlessly, our bodies synchronized in perfect unison. Enzo’s tongue circled my nipple before he sucked it into his mouth then softly nibbled on it.

I could feel my climax approaching as Enzo moved to my other breast. My pace increased as I gripped Enzo’s shoulders, thrusting deeper and harder against him.

“That’s my girl,” he growled against my breast. “Fuck me good.”

I couldn’t stop the moans that escaped me. Enzo captured my mouth with his, swallowing the sounds of pleasure as I dug my nails into his skin.

“You gonna come all over my cock, princess?” He murmured against my lips. “You gonna soak me with your sweetness?”

I nodded, unable to do anything but moan and whimper in his mouth as his kiss consumed me. I could barely think with the sensation of him all over and in me, too much yet not enough.

A few seconds later, euphoria overtook me as I found my climax. I threw my head back, my body tensing before trembling with pleasure as I melted against Enzo.

Pressing a kiss to my shoulder, he chuckled. I felt like I was in a daze as his fingers danced along my back, sending more sensations of pleasure throughout my body.

A few moments later, I felt my body shift. My eyes fluttered open to Enzo carrying me across the living room to my bedroom. He laid me down on the bed, then spread my legs open.

He licked his lips. “My turn.”

After Enzo basically licked me clean, then made me come again, I fell asleep in his arms. I wasn’t sure how much time had passed, but I woke up to him playing with my hair.

I looked outside, noticing that snow wasn’t falling anymore. “Is the storm over?”

His fingers stilled. “Yeah; it’s supposed to be clear for a week or two.”

My stomach dropped. “Do you think they’ll come?”

I felt him tense beneath me. “Probably. They’d be stupid not to take advantage of the break in the storm.”

I didn’t respond. I didn’t want Enzo to know how scared I was because I wasn’t just in fear for my life anymore.

I was afraid for his, too.
