Chapter 22 #2

He guided me back to the kitchen and then to the basement’s door. One of the other people dressed in all black opened the door. “Down here.” they said just above a whisper. I couldn’t tell if that was a man or a woman.

The gunman shoved me, as he guided me down the stairs.

“Okay, bitch, where the safe is?” the gunman asked me. I was trying to pick up on his voice.

“What safe?” I asked him frantically.

He slapped the fuck out of me. Blood flew from my mouth. “That safe, bitch.”

“Look, I don’t know where no safe is at.” I cried. “If you need money I got some in my purse. I got credit cards and you can take my car.”

“Bitch, we don’t want that petty shit! Where is the safe?” he asked me as he punched me in the mouth. I just knew that he’d loosened one of my teeth.

“I’m telling you. I don’t know about no safe.” I bawled.

“Bitch, shut up.” one of the other intruders snapped, as they slapped me.

“Please just take my purse and car.” I pleaded, as blood and snot dripped from my face. “I don’t know where no safe is at. If I did I would tell you.”

The blows just kept on coming and I continued to tell them the same thing. Eventually, the male robber grew frustrated. “Man, I thought y’all said that it was a safe in this bitch?” he asked the other two.

“It is. That bitch is lying.” one of them spoke up. That time I could clearly hear a female’s voice.

“No, I’m not.” I cried.

“Just shut up.” one of the other intruders lashed, as they hit me in the face repeatedly. I could tell by the blows that it was a chick. The guy with the gun hit much harder.

“Stop. This bitch don’t know shit.” the gunman snapped.

“Yes she do.” one of the other intruders insisted. By then I realized that two of the robbers were women.

“Yeah, right. You bitch’s better not be playing.” he told them. “Bitch, you better show us something or we’re going to start ripping off your fingers.” he threatened.

“Oh, God!” I wailed. I didn’t care if they got mad about me crying so loud. From the looks of it I was about to die, anyway.

“Shut the fuck up.” the male intruder gritted.

“Yeah, before I kick your ass in the stomach.” one of the female intruders threatened. Something was awfully familiar about her voice.

“You know what? I didn’t come here for nothing and since you aint giving up the money I’m going to get me some of this good pussy.” the male intruder growled. I could see some long braids hanging from under his ski mask. He was beginning to sound like…Khalil!

All sorts of thoughts began racing through my mind.

Had he figured out that Jahrein and them were following him and then killed them?

Was my husband and daddy both dead? But what I didn’t understand is why would Khalil come to rob me?

He had his own money. Did he just need some right then and there, so that he could go on the run?

“Please no!” I begged.

“Yeah, rape that bitch! Then go ahead and strangle her to death.” one of the females gritted, as she took off her ski mask.

Although, the basement was dim there was a little light coming from the top of the stairs. I knew that face from anywhere. It was Tyra. When I saw her face, I just knew that I was about to die.

“Oh, don’t look so surprised, bitch.” she giggled.

“You are crazy.” I shook my head. I wasn’t about to kiss her ass. I could tell that she already had her mind set. She probably convinced Khalil to come and do this.

“Okay, I’ll be that.” she nodded. “But can you blame me? I’ve had to deal with your bitch ass fucking with my son’s father’s head for all these years. This shit stops today.”

“Look at her.” the other chick giggled, like she was high out of her mind. “She aint the prettiest bitch now. Look at that snot running down her face. Oh, and the spit.” the bitch laughed, as she hocked up a bunch of saliva and spat in my face.

What had I ever done to those bitches to treat me that way? They hated me. I hadn’t fucked with Tyra’s man. She fucked with mine.

“Let’s just stomp this bitch to death.” the crazy ass chick laughed. She too decided to take off her mask. I couldn’t believe my fucking eyes.

“Bitch, you look like you seen a ghost.” Shell laughed.

“Why? What did I ever do to you?” I asked her, as I cried softly.

“Aw, don’t cry, poor little Raven. It’s always about you, huh?

” Shell mocked me. “You didn’t give a damn when I told you that I was fucking with Jah first. I was thinking that you was cool, and all the while you was fucking my man!

I fucked with Jahrein for a year, before you came along.

Then two weeks after you moved over there he told me that it was over, even though I was pregnant with his first child.

I should be driving the Benz. I should live in that six bedroom house.

But no!! The baddest bitch from Fifth Ward put a stop to all that shit.

He beat my ass and made me get an abortion.

He wanted to be with Raven. Raven this and Raven that.

Fuck Raven! Jahrein and all those other bitch ass niggas can cry over Raven’s grave. ”

“Y’all bitches are really crazy.” the gunman interrupted.

He couldn’t have said that better. I was in a room full of psychos. They weren’t there for money or drugs. They wanted me dead.

Something inside of me just told me to give them the fight of their lives.

If I was going to die I was going to take one of them with me.

The gunman had gotten too comfortable and no longer had the gun pointed at me.

Those silly hoes had left my knife on the floor.

So, when that crazy bitch Shell hit me again I fell to the ground.

I swiftly picked up that knife and charged at Khalil.

I swung the knife slicing his chest. I didn’t stop there, though.

I couldn’t stop. I stabbed him at least ten times.

Somewhere along the line he dropped his gun and was screaming at the top of his lungs.

I think that those bitches were in a state of shock for a while, because both did little to stop me.

“Raven?” I heard Red’s voice call out from the top of the steps.

“It’s some killers down here!” I shouted. If she was coming down she needed to come prepared.

I pushed who I believed to be Khalil down to the ground and dashed for his gun. He was out for the count, and those stupid bitches weren’t thinking fast enough. So, I got to the pistol first. That’s when Shell dived on my back.

“Red, come help me! It’s some hoes, trying to jump me!”

She didn’t reply, so I assumed she left me on my own.

I was becoming desperate, because it was now two against one.

I fired a shot to get those bitches off of me.

They scattered like some roaches. Both Tyra and Shell ran up the stairs.

I aimed the gun and started blasting. Blow!

Blow! One bullet hit Shell in the leg. She still managed to keep running.

Those hoes were screaming and running for their lives. I wanted to empty the clip on those tricks, but they were running in different directions and I could hear my kids’ cries. I didn’t know where they were and didn’t want to shoot wildly with them around.

I felt someone walking behind me. I spun around and found myself face to face with the barrel of a gun. “Bitch put the gun down!” she yelled.

“Red it’s me!” I screamed.

“Oh, shit.” she lowered her gun and held her chest. “You the one shooting? Where are the muthafuckas you shooting at?” she asked out of breath.

“They’re around this house somewhere.” I told her. “Let’s go get the kids and get them out of here.”

“Alright.” she nodded as she followed behind me.

“No!” I heard someone scream from upstairs.

I sprinted up the stairs. When we reached the top we could hear some tussling.

The sound was coming from Lero’s room. So, I pushed the door open and found Shell struggling with Tammy Chi.

Shell had a knife and was trying to lodge it in her chest. Tammy Chi was having trouble getting her off of her. This bitch just refused to go down!

She was dying tonight and couldn’t even see it. No question about it. I didn’t have time to play with her with that knife, so I ran right up on her and aimed the gun in her face. It was either me or her. I didn’t hesitate before pulling the trigger. Blow!

“AWWW!!” Tammy screamed as Shell’s brain matter splashed all over us, before her body hit the floor with a loud thud.

“Oh my God!” Tammy cried.

“Shhh.” I told her as I placed my index finger over her lips. “There was another one. Let’s make sure that she’s gone. Okay?”

Tammy silently nodded.

“Mommy!” I heard one of my boys yell from the other room.

Without thinking, I dashed over to the other room and swung open the door.

“Bitch, you better move back, before I slice every one of these muthafuckas up.” Tyra threatened.

That crazy bitch had my seven month old in her arms, and was holding him like a rag doll. In her other hand was a knife that she held to Jhyrah’s neck. It broke my heart to see the expression on my daughter’s face. She was horrified.

“Bitch, let my kids go.” I tried to remain in control, as I pointed the gun at her. I was about to break down as I witnessed her holding a knife to my five year old daughter’s throat.

“No, bitch you put that gun down!” she shouted.

“Junior, y’all come to me.” Red said to my oldest son. Jahrein Jr., Jahrae, and Jahreiah all ran over to their grandmother. Red quickly took them out of harm's way. I kept my gun pointed at Tyra, but couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger, while she held my baby in her arms.

I could hear several footsteps coming up the stairs. I didn’t know if it was the police or more intruders, but I wasn’t about to take my eyes off of that psycho bitch. I could hear male voices.

After listening closely I felt like one voice sounded like Jah’s! I was praying that my assumption was correct.

“Raven?” I heard a voice say.

“Yeah?” I answered, never taking my eyes or my gun off of Tyra.
