Chapter 9
CHAPTER NINE
Me
If we were all on the same continent, I’d tell you this in person.
Wells
I like London. Why are you hating? You’re in a mood.
Wells
Wait. What’s wrong?
Max
What’s up, Jack? Are you back in town?
Me
No, still at the Nashville office. But I became aware of some shady shit Kane was up to and thought you should all be aware.
Wells
That guy will not go away. What did he do now? Daphne didn’t call me about any new lawsuits.
Me
There are photographs of Kane Daughtry with Debbie Jo Wilson at a bar last week.
Wells
Rick’s sister?… That’s a bit odd I guess.
Max

Max
But isn’t she just Rick’s assistant? She doesn’t actually have any sway?
Wells

Max
We should still loop Daphne in. This isn’t that far removed from Tinsley, and in turn you, Wells.
Wells
That’s true.
Me
Good idea. I’ll call her shortly.
Wells
I can call Rick too if I need to… but you both know I’d really rather not.
Me
I think looping Daphne in is enough for now, but if she advises we take further steps, I’ll let you guys know.
Max
Sounds good. Let me know if you need anything from me.
Wells
Thanks man. Appreciate you looking out for me—and Tinsley too.
Me
Always
