EPILOGUE

MAVERICK

Thanksgiving is fast approaching, and with everything that happened with Luca and Honor, we never got around to updating the brothers about the meeting with Banshee.

It was time. We need to stay alert. I hate that we only just dealt with one threat, and we’re now staring down another. And this one is a big, fucking problem.

“Brothers, appreciate you all coming in.” I pause, considering how best to explain the new threat. “As you all know, before the shit with Mullaly went down, Spook, Carnage, and I attended a meeting with some of our allies at the GPMC.”

I sigh and rake a hand through my hair. “There’s a credible threat. Spook, Mamba, and Rowena are all looking into it, and it’s shaping up like we’re about to have a major, fucking problem.”

“What’s going on, Pres?” Ash asks, trying to hide how much pain he’s in. He’s pale and sweating. He shouldn’t even be sitting in here. He should be in bed resting, or at the very least stretched out in a recliner in the common room.

“I’ll get through this as quickly as possible, so Ash can get out of here,” I reply. My tone shifts, and my brothers know me well enough to hear it. They know when I’m fucking serious.

I know most of the other clubs think I’m a joke of a president, but they don’t know me. Not like my brothers do.

I don’t fuck around I get straight to the point.

“There’s a new group. I’m not sure you could call them a gang—they’re too organised for that.

But they’re pushing GPMC borders, and if they’re pushing theirs, it’s only a matter of time before they start pushing ours.

From what Banshee has found out, they’re a group of ex-cops or ex-military—either fired or chucked out for unsavoury conduct.

They’ve still got contacts though. Dirty cops... you get the picture.”

Pausing, I shift in my seat and my chair creaks beneath my weight. Steepling my hands beneath my chin I continue. “Glacier’s club is already having issues with the ATF. And if they’re going after territory run by the King’s of Anarchy, I have no doubt they’ll be gunning for our territory too.”

I’m silent letting the information sink in before continuing. “They find ways to work in and eliminate the club in the area, threatening the townspeople. They don’t discriminate on what they move. Drugs, weapons, flesh—they do it all.”

“And you think they’re going to try for our clubs, our routes and our businesses?” Roman stated.

“I do.” I nod, tapping a finger to my lip. I look around the table at the brothers. They’re not looking thrilled with the new information.

“Well, we’ll just have to eliminate anyone who steps foot in this town.” Rusty states and leans casually back in his chair. “We’re not a small club, and if the Grave Prowlers called a meeting, I’m going to assume they’re allies?”

Spook and I share a look. I nod. “The meeting was attended by us, the Grave Prowlers, the Queens Wraiths, and the Kings of Anarchy. While the Kings and the GP both move guns, their businesses don’t cross.

We don’t touch guns, and the Wraiths are clean, but you know they aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty if they need to. ”

“I say fuck the new gang,” Beard mutters, pushing back from his chair and standing.

His eyes are cold. “They don’t know what they’re up against. We may not be the biggest club, but we’ve got bigger chapters that would support us if need be.

We’re not fucking pussies. I say, between the allied clubs, we lock the Dakotas down and put an end to anyone who tries to come in and take over.

We protect our towns the only way we know how, and we put the threat in the ground if they come for us. ”

A rousting cheer echoes around the room.

I wait them out. It makes my heart happy, though. My brothers are good men. The downside of going to war is that we may end up losing some. Not if I can help it, but it is a possibility.

I slap my hand on the table. “Agreed,” I state, standing. “Spook.”

I turn to my VP, my best friend. He’s got the most to lose, with children as well as an Ol’ Lady that could be used as a threat. Although Honor has more than proved she isn’t a weak link.

He scoffs, slaps his hand on the table, and stands shoulder to shoulder with me. “Agreed. We put the motherfuckers down.”

A roar goes up around the table. The brothers bang their hands against the wood and, as one, shout, “Aye.”

It’s unanimous.

We’ll be going to war if they think they can fuck with us.
