Chapter 21 – War

WAR

“Look, let me handle all of this shit. I need you to calm down and listen to me. Do you think any of your neighbors heard the shots?” I asked Gutta Barbie.

“I don’t know. Oh my god! I don’t know!” she cried as she continued to panic.

“Listen, love, you have to relax. Don’t do anything until I get there, and DO NOT CALL ANYBODY! Do you understand me?”

“Yes!” she answered.

“Relax and take deep breaths. Don’t go anywhere near the bodies. I’m on my way.”

I ended the call and sped straight to Gutta Barbie. As soon as I pulled up in my 2026 Jaguar, I drove into the driveway and ran right into the house, as if I lived there.

“Barbie!” I called out. She emerged from the downstairs bathroom, covered in blood, with tears coming from her face. My heart melted as soon as I saw her. I looked at her bruised face, and all I could do was feel bad for her. Taking her by her hands, I looked her in the eyes.

“I need you to listen to me closely, go take a shower, and change your clothes. Put the clothes in a bag and take my Jag that’s parked in the driveway. Go straight to the condo; don’t make any stops; go straight there. When you get there, call me. Do you understand?”

“Yes,” she nodded.

“Ok, now tell me exactly where the bodies are.”

“They are upstairs to the right and straight down in the back master bedroom. As soon as you walk in, they are both on the floor on top of each other.”

“Good. You did well, and you’re safe; that's all that matters.” I kissed her on the forehead and sent her on her way.

When she was gone, I walked through the house and up the stairs.

I went straight to the back of the house and opened the master bedroom.

As soon as I walked in, I saw the two bodies on the floor on top of one another, the same way that Gutta Barbie described.

When I noticed Tiffany's pregnant stomach, I dropped my head. Knowing this shit was a complicated situation that had hurt Gutta Barbie to her core. She had given a lot to this relationship and didn’t deserve how she was treated by the two people whom she trusted the most. I hated how much she was hurt and that she was put in such a fucked up situation to make the decision that she had to make.

Before getting to business, I vowed to always cherish her and never make her feel this type of pain or trauma again.

I didn’t mind being the one that Gutta Barbie called to clean up her mess.

I wanted to be the main person in her life.

I wanted her to know that she could call me for anything, and I was going to be there for her through whatever.

I began getting to work; it took me hours to get rid of both bodies and clean up the mess.

When I was finally finished, I called my nigga Dumpa, that was his nickname that I had given him.

He was my right hand and did all my dirty work, but when it came to Gutta, I didn’t trust anybody to handle this situation, so I did it myself.

“What's good, bro?” he asked.

“It’s handled.” I ended the call.

I was letting him know that I was on my way to dump the bodies.

They were both too heavy for me to lift by myself, so I took both bodies separately.

By the time I was finished getting the bodies to the garage, sweat was pouring from my face, but I knew that time was of the essence, and I needed to keep going.

I opened my truck and put both bodies in the back of my Cybertruck.

I rolled up a fat ass blunt before pulling out of the garage and heading to get rid of the bodies.

As I drove, Gutta Barbie crossed my mind.

I couldn’t help but think about her and wonder if she was good or not.

I knew that she was taking all this shit in, and it was going to take a while for her to fully register everything that had happened, but she was strong.

The trauma that was going to come with this was going to be hard to get through, but I had faith in her.

I had never met a woman who was so strong and had been through all of the things that Gutta Barbie had.

She was most definitely a trooper, and I admired her resilience.

She was most definitely the wifey type, and it surprised me that the nigga Wrizzle hadn’t married her, but I was also blessed and thankful that he hadn’t done so.

I was going to make sure that I didn’t make the same mistakes that he made.

And as soon as the opportunity presented itself, I wasn't going to waste any time making her my wife. I knew that we hadn’t known each other long, but I knew when I found the one, and she was exactly her.

I pulled up to the old storage facility to dump the body. When Dumpa opened the shop to allow me in, we dapped each other up. I walked him to the trunk so that he could see the bodies.

“Damn, your girl is a beast, bro,” he smirked with his Newport 100 dangling from his lips.

“Yeah, she’s the truth.”

After dumping the bodies, I went straight to the condo to check on Gutta Barbie.

When I got in the house, she was in the bathroom soaking in the tub with the lights off in complete silence.

When I entered the bathroom, she didn’t move or budge; she just sat there, not saying a word.

I knew that this shit was hard on her, and I was hoping that she would be able to find some peace of mind.

Instead of interrupting her, I allowed her to have her time alone.

I went into the room and waited for her to finish bathing, and after another thirty minutes, I went back to check on her, but this time she didn’t appear to be breathing, causing me to panic.

I lifted her body from the tub and carried her into the attached guest bedroom.

When I noticed the empty pill bottle on the bed, I picked it up and threw it against the wall.

“What the fuck, Gutta!” I snapped. I pulled out my phone and called 911 while I did CPR.

When she began breathing, I took a deep breath of relief, but I still couldn’t believe that she had tried to off herself.

By the time the paramedics had arrived, Gutta Barbie was alert, but she was still weak and out of it.

She didn’t remember what happened. I made sure to let her know not to tell them a single word until we spoke first. I jumped in the ambulance I drove with her to the hospital, never leaving her side.

Even when we arrived at the hospital, I stayed put while they worked on her.

Every time they tried to get me to leave the room, I gave them a knowing look.

There was nobody on this earth who could get me to leave her side that day.

It seemed like it took forever for the doctors to get Gutta Barbie stable, and I was losing patience, but she pulled through like the warrior she was.

I couldn't contain the relief that I felt knowing that she had made it through.

I knew she was battling with a lot, but I had never imagined her taking this route.

I. Had continued praying for her to make a full recovery.

“NOOOOO! I don't want to go back there! Please!” Gutta Barbie screamed. I jumped out of my sleep and up on my feet, rushing to her side just as she was attempting to leap out of the hospital bed. Grabbing her with both arms, I stopped her and held her down onto the bed.

“Love relax!” I repeated over and over until she began to snap out of it.

“What's going on?” she asked, looking around at all the machines she was connected to and the hospital room. “Why am I in the hospital? What happened to me? What did I do?” she asked in a panic.

“Relax, just take some deep breaths,” I begged her.

“Tell me what happened,” she pleaded just as the night shift nurse came into the room.

“Is everything ok?” she asked.

“Yeah, she was just having a bad dream,” I answered while never taking my eyes off of Gutta Barbie.

“Good, she's awoken. I'll tell the doctor so that he can come in and update everyone.”

“What did I do? Did I really-

“Shhhh! This isn’t the time or place to be discussing any of that.

You tried to kill yourself, you overdosed on some pills, and I found you in the bathtub.

When the doctor gets in here, don't mention anything that happened prior to me finding you in that tub, do I make myself clear?” I asked, giving her a very serious look.

“Yes.” She answered just as the doctors walked in.

I stayed by her side while the doctors checked her vitals and filled her in on everything that was going on.

The doctors questioned her on everything that happened leading up to her trying to kill herself, and she played dumb just like I needed her to.

I didn’t want her saying anything that would incriminate her or me; there were still two bodies unaccounted for.

“There’s one more thing that came up during testing that I wanted to bring to your attention before I let you finish testing.

It’s protocol to run different testing, and we did a urinalysis test on you, and it came back positive for pregnancy.

” When the doctor said that, both Gutta Barbie and I looked at each other.

We had not been intimate yet, so I knew that could only mean one thing.

When the tears began falling from her face, my heart dropped to my stomach.

This was going to be a long battle, but I was going to be right here by her side through it all.

I didn’t want to be anywhere else other than where I was at this moment.

The doctors left the room, leaving Gutta Barbie and me alone to talk.

“I can’t believe this.” She cried. I walked over and stood next to her bedside, caressing her gently. I wanted her to know that I had her back.

“We’re going to get through this together, so don’t trip,” I assured her.

“I can’t go back to jail. Especially knowing that I’m pregnant, you should’ve just let me die. I don’t want to go back there.”

“Stop talking like that. I got everything taken care of, I promise. You are not gonna have to worry about doing anything. Just focus on yourself and the baby. I know this situation isn’t ideal, but you have to be strong.”

“What am I going to do?” she asked, looking at me with a tear-filled face.

“Whatever it is, you won’t have to do it alone, and that’s all that matters. You got me, your sister, and your homegirls.”

“I killed a fucking lawyer,” she whispered.

“And I got rid of her body. So, as I said, we are in this together. That shit is handled, and everything else we’re gonna figure out together.

What you need to do now is call your sister and friends because they’ve been blowing up your phone, and I know next they’ll be running down on me.

” I chuckled. I made her laugh for the first time.

It was nice seeing her smiling again. I knew all of this was very hard for her; I could only imagine what she was going through.

“I don’t really want to talk to anybody right now. I’m not in the mood.”

“Well, you’re gonna have to at least let them know that you're good. Don’t have them somewhere worried about you.”

I stepped out and allowed Gutta Barbie to connect with her people while I grabbed us both something to eat.

Finding her in that bathroom like that kept crossing my mind; it was a vision that I wanted to get out of my head, but I knew that was impossible.

On my way out, I walked past two detectives, and we all made eye contact as they headed towards the information desk.

I couldn’t help but wonder what the fuck they were here for.

As much as I wanted to turn around and rush to Gutta Barbie’s side, I knew that it would make things obvious, so instead I called her and told her the police were on their way to her room and to put the phone on speaker.

I listened as she hid the phone. I muted the phone and listened anxiously until the detectives walked into her room, introducing themselves.

“I fucking knew it!”

“We’re here looking for your long-term boyfriend, Benjamin, Lil Benji, Wrizzle, whatever you want to call him.

It’s in connection with the whereabouts of his cousin Lil Insane's death. We have been trying to speak with him for weeks, and he has been ducking and ignoring all of our attempts to speak with him. Do you know anything about where he may be right now?” one of the officers questioned.

“No, we’re not together.” Gutta Barbie answered.

“Wow, so you killed an officer for him, went to jail, and you’re telling me that the two of you all of a sudden are not together anymore. How does that happen?” the officer said sarcastically.

“Life, that’s how. Now, as I said, I don’t know anything about his whereabouts, so can you please leave me the fuck alone!”

“I’m gonna step out and answer this call; it’s the sergeant,” the other officer said.

“That was the boss man; he said that there’s a protective order out on her ex-boyfriend, so he doubts that she knows anything about his whereabouts or what's going on with this case, and that we need to end the questioning now before we get hit with a harassment claim,” the officer said when he walked back into the room.

I listened as the room fell silent and knew that they were gone.

I was relieved when Gutta Barbie got back on the phone and confirmed that the officers had both left.

I knew that their lurking around wasn't something that we needed right now.

Shit was hot, and we needed to get low for some time until all the smoke cleared.
