Hope

Prologue

As a child we dream. Some dream of becoming a vet or a doctor. Others dream of their wedding day, dreaming of their perfect wedding dress with their perfect groom or bride. I mean, let’s face facts. As kids we think we are invincible; we think there isn’t anything in the world we can’t be.

Do you ever wish you were a child again, the innocents, the naivety of the world? Thinking that somehow things just work out or failing that, your parents just fix things for you.

I had dreams, I dreamt that I of course would work doing what I loved, singing.

I thought I would make it as a pop star, that I would be chauffeured around with the paparazzi following me wherever I went.

Headlines would read “Shock as superstar Neve scoops her fifth music award.” I was destined for the big arenas, to perform to thousands of people screaming my name and singing my songs.

Then of course when it came to me settling down, I would marry some big-time producer in a big and ridiculously expensive wedding that only the most famous would attend.

We would of course go on to have two children, a boy and a girl.

We would give them cool and unusual names like Slayer and Pineapple, we would be the It couple, the inspiration to others.
