Vivianna #2

Tav leaned down and gave me a soft kiss on the lips and went after Darius. I heard the front door open and shut, followed by the engine of a car starting. I turned to look at Koit and Rik, who were still sitting at the table, watching me.

“Looks like it’s just us for tonight. What should we do?” I asked, suddenly feeling awkward.

“I say we have a junk food movie marathon night,” Koit said, popping up from his chair.

I grinned at this suggestion. “I’m so down. I haven’t done one of those since I was in college.” I looked over at Rik, feeling like he would be the picky one out of the three of us. “Any opinion on what we should watch?”

Koit burst out laughing at this. Rik glared at him and tossed a balled-up napkin that had been on the table. It missed him, not being heavy enough to go far, but Koit still got the point.

“You can pick whatever movies you want. Rik never watches TV, so he won’t have an opinion,” Koit explained. “If you go in the living room, there is a whole closet that’s filled with DVDs, so go crazy.”

I wandered into the living room and walked towards the biggest flat-screen TV I’d ever seen.

On the left-hand side of the TV was a wall of wood paneling, but I noticed wooden knobs on some of them.

I pulled open the first set and found shelves filled with every movie imaginable.

I quickly opened the rest of the hidden doors and found the whole wall was stocked with movies to watch.

Didn’t Darius say this place wasn’t meant to be stayed in for long periods of time?

Right. It would take someone years to watch all these movies, even if they watched them all day. I don’t understand him—it’s like he just wants to get rid of me as fast as possible.

He’s a control freak, and you’ve been stomping around in his perfect world.

Okay, I get that, but still—does he have to be such an asshat about it?

Oh, we should totally watch the Twilight series. I’ve always been Team Jacob.

You’re a werewolf, of course you’re Team Jacob. I doubt the guys would let us watch those, they might think I’m torturing them.

We are a werewolf, and you can’t tell me you thought Edward was hot. Don’t forget that I know everything in your brain. Taylor Lautner was a crush for a while.

I groaned, knowing that I couldn’t lie to myself with her calling me out on it. Oh, what about Pirates! That has sexy men, and the guys wouldn’t mind watching it.

Love me some Jack Sparrow.

I grabbed the five movies off the shelf and set them on the coffee table, then found the intimidating touch screen all-in-one remote and attempted to turn on the TV. It took me a few tries, but finally, after turning different lights on and off and blaring the sound system, I got the TV on.

Koit stuck his head out of the kitchen. “Are you all good in here?”

I held up the remote for him to see. “Just trying to turn on the TV. I don’t even know what to try to get the DVD player going. I might bring a satellite down from outer space.” I laughed.

“Leave it to Darius to have tech only he can figure out,” Koit said with an eye roll. “Almost done here, then we’ll figure it out together.”

Moments later, Rik came out with a giant bowl of popcorn and a plate full of grilled cheeses. He set them on the coffee table and went back for more. Koit came in with a meat and cheese board with crackers of all kinds. I clapped excitedly with all the amazing options I had to choose from.

“Would you like beer, wine, soda, water?” Koit asked before he headed back to grab the drinks.

“Beer, I never indulge because I always get called into work. Being tipsy and trying to save someone's life isn’t the best combination,” I said, trying to remember the last time I’d had a drink.

Koit saluted me and headed off to get the delicious beer.

Rik came back with a platter full of fruit, a bottle of wine, and a wine glass.

He placed everything down, then settled himself on the couch near the armrest. After pouring himself a glass of wine, he leaned back with a contented sigh.

I popped down next to him and turned the bottle so I could see what he was drinking.

“Bordeaux. Wow, you’re a hard-core wine drinker,” I whistled, impressed.

Rik chuckled. “I have a few things that I indulge in, and wine happens to be on the top of that list. Want to give it a try?” he asked, holding the glass out to me.

“Alright, but be warned that my palate consists of cheap box wine because I can keep it in my fridge for emergencies,” I said, preparing him for me not to like his fancy wine that I’m sure cost a pretty penny.

“I’ll try not to hold it against you,” he said, handing the glass over.

I took a tiny sip and waited for my taste buds to freak out but didn’t get much of a response.

Seriously, girl, it’s just wine. Put your big girl pants on and try the damn thing.

I took another taste, this time swallowing a decent-sized amount.

The wine was smooth and warm on my tongue, and its flavor kept changing the more I thought about it.

I was impressed that I didn’t hate it. I wasn’t sure I loved it, but I was willing to give it another taste.

This time, I closed my eyes and let my new wolf senses take over and explain the flavors to me.

I could taste hints of fruit like plum and cherry, but it was rich and savory.

Suddenly, I felt something pressed to my lips, and I opened my eyes to find Rik holding a piece of cheese to my lips.

I opened my mouth and let him set it on my tongue.

I chewed the dense, flavorful morsel, and the wine changed into a richer, almost smokey flavor in my mouth.

Hot damn, we need to drink wine more often, that was sexy as hell.

I couldn’t have agreed more with her. Now, after way too many years in a forced dry spell that was now broken, I could feel heat rushing through my body. I could get used to this, having all these men around me, taking care of me.

About time you joined the party. These men are walking werewolf perfection.

“Gruyère. It matches perfectly with that wine; it brings out the deeper notes,” Rik said, his eyes shimmering with humor. He knew exactly what he was doing to me.

Hearing the clank of bottles, I looked behind me to see Koit leaning against the doorway of the kitchen. “Oh, don’t mind me; I was just enjoying your wine education.”

I frowned at him for his teasing, handing the glass back to Rik.

Koit walked over to the couch, taking the open seat next to me, and handed me a beer.

He took a slow, long gulp of his beer while watching me out of the side of his eye, trying to catch me watching him. Damn these men and my neglected libido.

“So, I decided on Pirates of the Caribbean for our movie marathon,” I announced, clearing my throat and turning away to look at the remote.

“I love those movies, excellent choice,” Koit said, setting down his beer and grabbing the remote from me.

After hitting a few buttons, he managed to pull up the movie, dim the lights, and got the sound system just right.

When I looked at him, he grinned, puffing out his chest. I shoved him away as he shimmied up against me, trying to encourage some words of praise.

I filled a bowl with popcorn, grabbed some fruit, and topped it off with a grilled cheese.

Munching away contentedly, I decided having people in my life was way more fun than I thought it would be.
