Chapter 23 Blocked on the Road

After the red deed of the General’s Residence was transferred, we finally left the city gates.

I didn’t care who bought the residence.

So I didn’t listen clearly to what Uncle Chen said outside the carriage.

Jun Zhenxian lifted the curtain and gave the order, “Let’s go.”

But the carriage hadn’t gone far before it stopped again.

Uncle Chen explained, “Princess, it’s His Highness Jing Xuan.”

Jing Xuan had left the city alone.

He blocked the carriage, his voice growing louder with each word.

“Cui Qingyi!”

“Where’s your future husband! Let him come out and let me see!”

Luckily I was used to Jing Xuan’s unreasonable behavior.

Jun Zhenxian was even more so.

I only lifted a corner of the curtain and already saw Jing Xuan’s face—lost yet arrogant.

No choice.

I repeated what I had said to Jing Can last night.

“If Your Highness wants to meet him, how about next month on the fifteenth? We’re in a hurry to travel today, it’s inconvenient.”

Jing Xuan’s horse stood across the official road, blocking our way forward.

Right after Jing Xuan finished speaking.

Jing Can’s voice came from behind.

“May I ask your honorable name, sir? We have known Cui Qingyi for many years. Now that she’s going to Jiangnan, we can’t help feeling uneasy.”

“Why don’t you come out and greet us.”

I frowned.

Uncle Chen said Jing Can’s horse was also blocking the road behind us.

When Jing Yu’s voice sounded.

I felt calm.

“Qingyi little sister, may we see your future husband?”
