Chapter 1
Chapter One
MAE
“You only grow older; you never really have to grow up if you don’t want to.”
Standing in front of the mirror, I straighten the hem of my vibrant red dress.
Eli handed it to me with a sparkle in his eye, kissed my cheek, and went downstairs an hour ago.
The dress hugs my every curve, rouching in just the right places to flatter my mid-sized figure.
I took the liberty of adding a black lace matching bra, panties, and fishnets to accentuate the pale skin below.
I only have two shades: either pale- near white, or sunburnt lobster red.
The dress isn’t fancy, so I take some liberties and add touches of my punk-filled past. My eyes are covered in smoky makeup brought together with the lipstick that matches my dress.
It’s Valentine’s Day, and while I typically hate surprises, I have grown to love Eli’s surprises.
He knows me better than I know myself some days, and it's part of what makes us work so well together.
“Baby, are you ready?” His voice pulls me from the mirror to look for him. My best friend. My husband. He is frozen standing there, with his hand on the doorknob and his jaw slack.
“Well, what do you think?” I ask, trying not to let my anxiety and self-conscious nature ruin this moment.
He blinks before closing the distance between them.
Stalking me backwards until I was flat against the mirror.
A hand on each side of my head, trapping me, pressing me farther into the cold reflection of us.
“I think you look good enough to eat,” he growls in my ear. The words vibrated straight to my clit, causing me to press my thighs together, seeking any relief. His chest vibrates as he lets out a soft laugh.
“Does that mean I’m on the menu for tonight?” I ask, batting my eyelashes. Two can play at that game, and if I am going to have wet panties leaving, then I am going to redirect his blood flow to his other head.
“You’ll have to wait and see what I have planned, baby,” he sighs, forcing his body to cooperate.
He takes a step back, putting a small amount of distance between us.
His shoulders relax, and a goofy smile crosses his lips as he thinks about his plans for tonight.
Warm air brushes across my face as he leans over, placing a soft kiss on my forehead.
I can feel the warmth of his hand caressing its way down my arm to my hand, leading me out to our adventure.
Quietly, I grab my purse from the table by the front door as we leave the house.
Taking his steps almost two at a time, he makes it to the passenger side and opens the door for me.
I slide into the open seat and sit back as he buckles me in.
Ensuring that I am secure in the car, his eyes rake over the exposed cleavage, moving with every breath.
Pulling my shoulders together, I push the boundaries of the bodice of this dress and watch him bite his lip.
That smirk is back in a flash as his hand finds its way to my throat, adding pressure but holding me in place.
“Babygirl, just wait. I want you to remember how you taunt me when we get there,” he threatens with a sparkle in his eye.
My panties are soaking, and my mind is reeling.
Where are we going? What does he have planned?
“How could I forget, when it makes you look at me like a five-course meal?” I retort, pressing my thighs together, looking for any friction or relief. His hand moves so fast, I feel it before my brain registers it between my thighs, creating space.
“Be a good girl and sit in the wetness that you’ve created.
I promise it will be worth it.” He smiles and steps back to shut the door.
Shaking my head, I take a deep breath and chuckle.
Even after all of our years together and the different stages of life we have shared, he still knows how to put me on edge.
I pout and cross my arms as he crosses in front of the car on his way to the driver's side.
The sun is setting on the horizon, and if it wasn’t for the heat of our exchange, I might feel some of the early February chill in the air.
His door opens with a start, and the breeze cascades across my skin.
Climbing in the car, he smiles at me with that same carefree smile that I fell in love with all those years ago.
He reaches behind my seat and pulls out my leather jacket, laying it across my lap.
“To help keep you warm while we are in the car,” he offers as an explanation. It’s a small gesture, but he always makes sure that I feel the love between us.
