Chapter 4

CHAPTER FOUR

Baylor

Over the next couple of hours, we drank a few more beers, grilled chicken and made a light pasta salad and grilled asparagus on the side. I ran back to my place and grabbed another six pack of drinks and the fixings for the pasta salad before we started cooking.

Usually I didn’t care for the company of people, having been on my own for so long now that it was strange to actually enjoy another person’s company. But with her I did. Despite the few beers coursing through my system.

“So you grew up here?” Twila asked as we sat outside after dinner. She’d made us both a cup of chamomile tea, explaining how she made it every night as part of her nightly routine. I liked being a part of it.

Usually I’d down a few more beers but maybe it was a good thing to replace them with a cup of tea instead.

“Yep. Born and raised. I’m an only child.

Spent a lot of time on my own. My parents worked a lot so often I had babysitters after school, went to summer camp, that sort of thing, until I was old enough to be alone.

When I graduated high school, they left for the city, but I didn’t want to go.

I liked it here. So I got a degree in IT and bought the cabin, adopted Twix, and here we are.

I have a few buddies in town I meet up with from time to time from high school.

” I paused for a moment. “Guess I sound pretty dull.” I chuckled.

“No, I don't think so. I mean you own Twix, that right there gives you like a thousand bonus points.” Twila smiled, her cheeks flushed.

I held onto her gaze, my imagination running wild about what it would be like to kiss her, touch her, taste her, hold her…

I moved in my seat, my cock suddenly making itself very well known, pressing hard against my shorts.

“Ha, Twix is turning out to be a great wingman.” I said. “I never would’ve thought.”

Twila leaned in closer and my heart tripled in speed. “What else do you like to do?”

“I like my coffee black, my morning news, and catching up on the current events every morning. Need to know what’s going on.”

“It’s important.” Twila agreed.

“Enough about me. Tell me about you.”

“As you can see, I love my plants.” Twila waved her hand around.

“I love being out here and enjoying nature. But settling down on the couch with a good book or some trashy reality tv is great, too. I do medical billing so it’s kind of a boring job, but it pays the bills.

Maybe one day I’ll sell some of the crafts I create, like the big blanket I knitted or the quilt I sewed. But for now, it’s more for fun.”

“Creative and a green thumb? Interesting.”

“Interesting and bit dull, hmm?” Twila grinned and then licked her lips, the move causing my dick to twitch. The urge to kiss her overtook me again.

I leaned forward and closed the distance between us. “Not dull at all. But can I ask you something?” My voice hoarse and growl like.

Twila’s eyes never left mine. She held on to my gaze, the shyness from earlier now gone. Whether it was the alcohol or the time spent together, I could tell she wanted this too. She moved closer and her tongue darted out once more, driving me absolutely insane. “Yes.” The word a breathless whisper.

“Is it okay if I kiss you?”

Without a second thought, I closed the distance and pressed my mouth against hers, hot and needy, ready to claim her. All of her.

Our mouths moved together, desperate and frantic, as if we were without for so long, the anticipation too much to bear.

My hands reached for her waist, and I pulled her onto my lap, needing her body against mine.

Twila groaned into my mouth as we deepened our kiss, our tongues swirling together as one. They dueled and explored, tasted and teased, as we discovered each other for the first time.

Our kisses were frantic and frenzied, our hands beginning to move on their own accord, so needy for the other.

But then suddenly, Twila stopped.

She backed away, our chests heaving, our eyes molten and blazing, her lips swollen and red. All I could think about was kissing her again. And again.

“Baylor…I…” Twila hesitated, her words hesitant and slow.

My shoulders fell. I moved too fast.

She was younger than me. A lot younger.

What the hell was I thinking?

Yeah, I asked her for the kiss, and she died yes but I got carried away.

“Shit I’m sorry, Twila. That was too much, I?—“

“No, wait, it’s not you, Baylor. It’s me. I’m…ugh…” she stood up from lap and paced the patio, her hands knotting together.

I stood, taking her hands in mine. “It’s okay, Twila. You don’t have to tell me. Let’s just call it a night, okay? I’ve got work in the morning and I’m sure you do too. It’s getting late so?—“

“I’m a virgin.”

My mouth snapped shut. That was not what I was expecting her to say.

Honestly?

I didn’t care.

Not one bit.

Because it meant she was untouched.

Mine.

Only mine.

I brought her hands up to my lips and kissed each of her fingers. Then I lifted my gaze and brought it to hers, hoping she could see exactly how I felt reflecting in them.

“Oh, sweet girl, that doesn’t matter to me. Not one bit. In fact, it turns me on. A lot.”

“Really?” Twila breathed and I let go of her hands to grab onto her waist. I squeezed the soft flesh beneath my fingers and dipped my head low.

“Fuck yeah. Because you’re mine. All mine.”

And then I kissed her like she’d never been kissed before, showing her exactly what I meant.
