Chapter 6
CHAPTER SIX
Baylor
I woke up with a start, my hand flying to my chest as I sat straight up in bed. I looked around and freaked out for a moment until I remembered.
I was in Twila’s bed. We fell asleep after having hours of sex.
Glancing to my right, Twila slept, her long eyelashes fluttering against her skin.
Letting out a deep breath, I laid back down and turned onto my side, pulling Twila into my arms and spooning her from behind.
I breathed in her hair, her scent, and pressed my hands flat against her stomach.
My cock brushed against her ass cheeks and thickened almost immediately, everything about her such a fucking turn on.
What a wild night.
I hadn’t been with a woman in so long. After a few shitty relationships in high school, I had the occasional one-night stand when I couldn’t take only my hand anymore, but those were few and far between.
Nothing had ever been like this. Nothing had ever felt like this.
No woman had ever been her. Twila.
She made me feel invincible. Like I could take on the world if I wanted to.
So what if she were younger than me, it didn’t matter if she was my person.
My hands took it upon themselves to roam over her breasts and she stirred awake, stretching and yawning before peeking over her shoulder at me.
Twila smiled and the deeper I fell.
Hell, she breathed and I fell.
I fell for her all night long.
“Hey, sweet girl.” I whispered and kissed her shoulder, gently nipping the skin and kissing it again.
She shivered beneath me and my dick grew harder.
“I think someone is happy to wake up next to me.” Twila said shyly and I rubbed my dick against her ass, reaching down and slipping it between her cheeks.
“Oh, most definitely. Even before coffee.”
“Then I better make it worth your while.” Twila said with a grin as she rolled over to face me.
I growled and rolled on top of her, pinning her beneath me. I slid my dick inside easily, her pussy wet and ready for me.
Twila cried out, her head falling back against her pillows. Fuck, she was so damn beautiful it hurt.
And then I fucked her until we both collapsed in each other arms, breathless and spent.
After a quick shower together, we made our way downstairs where Twila put on some coffee. I needed to head back to my place for some clothes, but I couldn’t make myself leave if I tried.
She was like a drug.
I kissed her hair while she poured in the water, squeezed her tight while she scooped in the grounds, and spun her around to kiss her deep as the coffee brewed behind us.
“Meow!”
I jumped at the sound and Twila laughed, both of us turning towards where it came from. Twix. In the kitchen window.
“Shit, he must be hungry.” I mumbled. “I should probably go feed him.”
“I have some cat food here. I bought some.” Twila said sheepishly.
I kissed her. “You’re amazing.”
She smiled and grabbed the can along with a dish and spoon. As I fed Twix, she poured us a coffee.
I took the mug from her and looked down. “You remembered.” I said, my heart all warm and fuzzy. God this woman was turning me into a puddle of mush.
“I listened to every word you said last night. Even when my eyes were closed.” Twila pressed herself against me and rested her head on my shoulder. “It was the best night of my life.”
I paused, my throat growing thick. How could she make me feel so good in such little time?
But here she was. Doing just that.
“For me too.” I tilted her chin up with one finger and looked her straight in the eyes. “Be my girl, Twila? Please?”
“Yes. A million times, yes.”
I took her in my arms, abandoning my coffee for her and her lips, her taste, her everything. I wanted it all.
We kissed and kissed and then I carried her upstairs and made love to her again.
From that day on, we became inseparable. The only time we spent apart was when we worked during the day. Every night we spent together, trading off between each other’s beds.
We found a balance, a rhythm, a routine that worked for us. And I fell in love with her more and more every day.
A couple of months later, her birthday came around.
I wanted to ask her to marry me and make her my wife.
Like always around her, I couldn’t wait any longer.
So during my work hours, while alone in my cabin, I shopped for rings online while secretly getting help from her sister, Mel.
I grabbed Mel’s number from Twila’s phone one night and asked her for advice.
Once I found the perfect ring and got Mel’s approval, I bought it and waited anxiously for it to arrive. When it did, it looked perfect.
I carried it around with me until the day of her birthday, not letting it out of my sight, despite it burning a hole in my pocket.
The day finally came at the end of August. The weather was still warm, so I chose an outdoor dinner in her backyard, surrounded by her plants and twinkle lights, one of her favorite places to be.
“Happy birthday, sweet girl,” I kissed her hand as I led her outside where dinner waited, complete with champagne.
“Baylor! Wow! This is beautiful.” Twila beamed as she looked around. She wrapped herself around me and kissed me, something I’d never grow tired of.
We ate and talked and as the sun set and stars came out, I stood and stretched, setting my plan in motion. Just like I suspected, Twila collected the plates and got to her feet. I placed a hand on her arm. “You sit and let me clean. It’s your birthday. I’ll grab the cake.”
“Are you sure? I don’t mind helping.”
“Sit, sweet girl.”
I gathered the dishes and took them into the kitchen, putting them in the sink before fetching the chocolate strawberry cake I got. The ring was in my pocket, secure like always.
I opened the cake and set it down on the counter before taking out the ring box and placing it in the middle of the chocolate covered strawberries. Grabbing my pile of supplies I set aside earlier, I headed outside, placing everything down but the cake.
With the cake in both hands, I stood before her. “Happy birthday, sweet girl. I have a question to ask you.”
Twila’s eyes bulged when she looked at the cake and she gasped.
“Baylor…oh my God!”
I set the cake down, took the ring, and got down on one knee. “Twila, my sweet girl. Will you marry me?”
Twila clasped her hands over her mouth and screamed. “Oh my God! Yes! Yes! YES!” She jumped to her feet and I followed, needing the ring on her finger and her mouth on mine.
“I love you so much, Twila.” I said as I took her hand and slid the ring on.
“I love you too, so much.” She replied before looking at the ring on her finger and bursting into tears.
Our lives were only just beginning.
