Chapter 8

JAY

Holy shit. I didn’t even have to seduce Braxton because, apparently, he’s in the mood to seduce me. And he’s doing it with such tenderness and care, stroking my cheeks, and lips, and kissing my nose.

“You taste and smell so good, little human, and as much as I want you, this”—he pauses, staring at me with dark eyes—“do let me know if you want to stop.”

“I—uh—I will, thanks,” I say shyly. Something about the way he treats me is making me feel like a virgin all over again as I melt in his arms.

I never pictured him being this way. He is definitely a gentler NV than Xan or Hex, but he’s also the biggest of the three, and he frequently gets out his sexual frustration in the fitness center, lifting Gorgekian metal balls while Hex takes his cold showers and Xan retreats to…

wherever Xan goes. So I thought, if Braxton and I ever fooled around, he would unleash a caged beast on me, like Xan did.

It seemed like I brought a primal side out of him and Hex, but as I kiss Braxton, he seems more like a human than he ever has. It would be really romantic if there weren’t eight-legged creatures crawling all over the bloody place.

“Little one, you can’t seem to stop yourself from going a bit…stiff,” Braxton says, sensing my barely suppressed horror. “Am I doing something wrong?”

“It’s not you. I’d just be more comfortable if we did this somewhere else.”

“Would you like to do this off the ship?”

“You mean, would I like you to take me away on another ship, where us fucking can’t be interrupted by crewmembers, or something hairy crawling over my ass?

” I joke, and he laughs, and I feel it in his large expansive chest as it makes my whole body tingle.

“Yes, I would really like that, Commander.”

“Let’s move quickly then, to the hangar bay.”

He makes a sound as he puts me down that lets me know he’s bothered by the brief separation we’ll have to endure until we’re away from the Derecko, and it adds an extra happy flush atop the one that comes from how hard I am for him. “Did I ever tell you you’re my favorite NV, Commander?”

“You have,” Braxton says with a grin. “In your sleep.”

“You watch me when I’m sleeping?”

“I listen mostly. It calms me.”

“How?”

He shrugs. “To me you are like the spiders in many ways: a strange, beautiful, rejected creature.”

“I’ll take that as a compliment.”

We pull up the zippers the other pulled down when we were kissing, and then he leads the way to the hangar bay, where there are shuttle ships, escape pods, and one scoutship left, since Hex took the other one.

The shell of the scoutship is made of NV material that looks like opaque glass.

Bright white light splinters through it when Braxton uses his thought transmitter to chat with its operating system.

I can’t understand a word it says back to him as we step through the airlock—just like I can’t read the call sign on his coveralls.

The NV language is too complex for me to learn how to read and write it in one human lifespan, so no one bothered to teach me any of it.

There is nanotech that can be shot into a brain and grants the ability to instantly learn to read and speak unknown languages you encounter, but NVs aren’t allowed to share that technology with Earthlings yet, and many humans wouldn’t trust something an NV would offer to put in their brain anyway.

I’m hoping, after I change, the Council will stop lumping me in with the other Earthlings, and will finally let Xan give me that nanoshot.

“Dammit, Hex,” Braxton mutters as he takes a seat in the flight deck, bringing my focus back to him: the NV who is about to make me become a hybrid.

“What’s wrong?”

“This is the ship he usually takes, but he took the other one today so he wouldn’t have to clean this shit up.”

There are quite a few empty snack bags and bottles strewn about the sleek surfaces of the ship. I’ve never seen our captain be this lazy. I guess the scoutships are where he lets himself unwind, because I haven’t seen him ever relax this much on the Derecko.

“He didn’t even make his bed, or wash the sheets,” I report as I go deeper into the ship. “But, in his defense, he didn’t know we would be fucking on them.”

“He’s about to know what it’s like to have my foot in his ass,” Braxton growls. “I don’t want your first time to be on dirty sheets.”

“I’m kind of into it,” I say, collapsing onto the bed and immediately wanting to surrender to its softness.

“Do you like his smells that much?” Braxton asks, as I hear him flipping switches.

The note of jealousy in his tone makes me say, “Not more than yours.” In truth, I love all their smells the same, just like I love them all the same, even though I do like Braxton a bit more as a mentor, friend, and NV crewmate, because Hex and Xan can just be so damn demanding and harsh.

But I could never just live with one, without the others, so it is nice to have Hex’s scent filling my nose, and the fresh memory of Xan’s lips on mine, while I have Braxton and his scary-strong voice here, and the thunderous noises he makes.

I hear him make one that lets me know he was pleased by my answer as I curl up with the scent of rain, which is how Hex’s aura smells when he’s upset. Has he had as many sleepless nights as I have, since we started talking about me leaving the Derecko?

And, speaking of sleep, I could really use some right now, so I shut my eyes and hope Braxton won’t be offended by me getting some rest while he flies us somewhere more private.

I was about to nap when I was told he had sent for me, after I hopped in and out of a cold shower and used the instant-healing ointment I got from the sickbay.

I’m not unhappy that his own plans got in the way of mine, but I was hoping I’d have some time to recover before seducing him—because I was pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to properly seduce him without some downtime.

I am a strong, young human, but even the fittest of my kind can’t just bounce back like NVs can after sex, and I’ve been getting down and dirty with NVs for the past two hours.

I’m not even sure if I could come a third time, if we went at it right this second. And that would really suck, not coming with Braxton. So, I let myself drift off while he does his thing.

* * *

What feels like seconds later, I wake to Braxton doing a thing to me. He has my prick out and is fisting it, and it takes me a moment to be sure I’m not dreaming of him sitting beside me with a hungry look.

“Commander,” I gasp, sitting up and leaning back on my elbows. “Is this your way of telling me you found a spot?”

He nods. “A good one. And I cloaked the ship.”

“But that’s against the rules. Earthlings don’t like NV ships going invisible anywhere near their planet.

” That technology really freaks humans out, because it doesn’t just make things invisible.

It can also make you think you’re looking at something completely different.

You could see a meteor flying by and have no idea it’s actually an escape pod.

“They don’t like this either,” he says, with a firm stroke of my hardness, “but that’s not stopping us.”

He moves his big hand at a speed a human couldn’t match, and I feel the friction all over my twice spent cock as it hardens.

“You, uh… Oh, Commander…” I need to tell him to slow down, but I can’t even get the words out.

Thankfully, the commander sees my balls tighten and abruptly lets go. “Hn. I didn’t expect you to get that close that fast.”

“And I expected you to be smoother in bed, Commander,” I scoff. “Don’t you know it’s rude to comment on how quickly your partner comes?”

“My apologies,” he says, his expression turning sheepish. “This is as new to me as it is to you.”

“It—what?” Is he saying what I think he’s saying? He can’t be saying what I think he’s saying.

“That’s right, Jaxus,” he says like he’s reading my mind—or maybe just my face. “I’m a virgin.”

“How are you a virgin? Or should I say, why are you a virgin?”

“Back home you don’t fuck until you’re ready to be a father, and I didn’t want to become one before our mission to the Solar System, because I didn’t want to leave my nestlings behind.

And as we traveled here, I wasn’t attracted to the other species we visited along the way, who we couldn’t create hatchlings with.

Some would visit my planet as well, and I’ve never been attracted to them either. ”

“But Hex and Xan were?” I can’t stop myself from asking. They never talk to me about this stuff, so whenever I get a chance to know a little more about them I’ve got to take it. Even if I’m sitting here with Braxton, with my dick lying on my stomach.

Braxton nods. “They had their fun while I made peace with the idea of being celibate, until my days on the Derecko were over. But then I started having feelings for you that were so strong my aura wouldn’t let me hide them, and I would watch you sleep while I thought about doing this.”

He puts his hand back on my prick and my breath hitches. “I thought about waking you with my hand or mouth, and asking you to be my first.”
