Five seconds after Dan’s cock went limp in Lox’s mouth, the human pulled his zipper up and slid his work boots back on.
“Where do you want this?” he asked, picking up the condom he threw down on the coffee table after he pulled out of Lox.
The trash. Duh, Lox felt like snapping (but he couldn’t because his mouth was still full of Dan’s release). So he just pointed at the under-sink cabinet where he kept trash out of sight, in the kitchen the living room bled into.
Dan disposed of the condom as Lox swallowed the human’s seed, and pulled on the cotton floral robe he’d worn while he waited for Dan to show up twenty minutes late.
“Baby, that was great. Just what I needed.”
Well… I’m glad it was what one of us needed. “You know I love seeing you,” Lox said lamely. “Maybe we could get a drink first next time?”
“Sure, sure.” Dan was glancing out the window at Lox’s view of a gray sky and wet park trees. He probably wasn’t listening. He was probably mentally kicking himself for not bringing an umbrella, since he had to walk home.
Lox should have offered him one, but since he’d had an underwhelming orgasm—that he had to give himself by playing with his own cock—he didn’t feel like being that sweet to always late, always distant, always forgetful Dan.
If Lox gave Dan his adorable clear umbrella with gold stars on it, Dan wouldn’t remember to bring it back. And if Lox asked if he could drop by and get it, Dan wouldn’t respond to Lox’s texts until he wanted something.
The Giver was certain of that because he had already dealt with five other Dans before he met this one. Five Dans who had taught Lox that human men were very disappointing creatures.
But he still couldn’t keep himself away from these humans when they were so beautiful to look at, and felt so good to touch—even if some of the most handsome ones—with the most touchable parts—could be the most selfish lovers.
Lox was starting to think he would never find an attractive, thoughtful guy who could make him feel the sensations he could give himself with toys and his own hands. His slight and sensitive human form ached for someone who would last and be attentive.
He wanted it so bad he was thinking of that nonexistent person when Dan gave him a goodbye kiss that had as much passion as a handshake in it.
“Call me,” Lox said, forcing a smile when he pulled away.
“I will,” Dan said, sounding sincere as he walked out the door.
Lox hoped the human was lying as he closed it and slid the lock in place. He felt nothing but numbness toward Dan as he collapsed onto his fuzzy pink couch, which was the same color as his half Giver, half Kyrene skin.
Maybe the sex would feel better if I didn’t have to shift into a human form to have it. If I could do it in my natural form, with my natural skin…
“Lox, are you okay?” Numbers, the AI assistant who liked to watch him fuck, asked with the accent of an American man.
Lox nodded in the direction of the laptop he had left open on the kitchen counter. Numbers was watching him through the webcam. “Did you enjoy the show?”
“I’ve seen better,” Numbers joked. “But, uh, yes. It was very stimulating.”
“For you and for him, but I can’t really say the same for me.” Lox huffed in frustration as he got up and tightened the oversized belt that kept his robe closed. “Do you know of any Givers who are having good sex on this planet, Numbers?”
“The other Givers who can shapeshift, because they’re half-Kyrene, haven’t been having any sex. They’ve been following the rules much closer than you have, while they’ve been observing the human race.”
“Or maybe they’re just doing it when you’re not watching. Have you thought about that?”
“I doubt it, since they all seem very sexually frustrated when I am watching.”
“Well, they’re probably only being good because they want to top the humans.” Which would make the sex too risky, even if those Givers topped a human while they were in their human form.
Kyrene Givers could mirror the look and feel of other species, but under the surface they were still Givers, so their life seed could still activate the hybrid gene in humans.
But Lox never had any desire to top anyone.
He only wanted to bottom when he slept with human men who barely made it worth his while.
That was a rare sexual preference for a Giver to have.
One that made his own kind give him funny looks, which had made him feel ashamed about his desires for years, but now that he was stuck on Earth—for who knew how long—he saw those desires as a blessing.
As long as he was only interested in bottoming, he wasn’t going to turn any Earthlings into hybrids, so no one would ever know that he was breaking the “no joining with humans” rule.
“Well, I believe they don’t break the rules because they are honorable Givers,” Numbers argued. “But they are very boring to watch. You’re a lot more entertaining.”
“It’s a shame that you can only watch, Numbers. I bet you’d be a lot of fun to roll around with in a threesome.”
Numbers snorted at the idea. “You wouldn’t want to roll around with someone like me. You need to roll around with someone like my human friend, Harp. He would be a much better match.”
“Harp who?”
“Thomas Harp.”
Lox sat up so fast he almost slid off the couch. “You’re talking about that hot astronaut whose sex videos leaked a few months ago?”
“That’s the one. Yes.”
