64. Isabella
CHAPTER SIXTY-FOUR
ISABELLA
“Now, Izzy.”
He says it with such confidence, and I know he’s right. It’s time.
I press another kiss to his sweat-slicked skin, pretending I can scent him like another wolf could. This is it.
I may have always been his, but he’s always been mine.
I sink my teeth into the skin there as hard as I can, just as his teeth latch onto my neck and bite, his canines elongating to break the skin, and my thoughts shatter into a million tiny pieces.
And as those little pieces come back together, they collect some new ones. Parts of Nick that lodge themselves in my chest.
I can feel him.
Nothing concrete like actual thoughts, but I can feel how elated he is. How viciously in love with me he is.
The comedown from the best orgasm I’ve ever had is slow but as sweet as pulling taffy.
Finally, he releases the bite and brings our foreheads together. “I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
“I have a gift for you,” he says, his joy a tangible thing that I almost feel like I could pluck out of the air.
It lifts me up. “Was it your dick?”
He tries so hard to glare at me, but it dissipates into a fond smile. “No, Mate. It’s not my dick. It’s on the nightstand.”
It’s almost impossible to rip my gaze from this man—my mate. But I manage to glance to the side.
And my breath catches in my throat.
“A Lunamois snow globe?” I’m barely able to get the words out through the emotion that wedges its way in the center of my chest.
No one has ever bought me a snow globe before.
“Yeah,” he says softly. “The sign inside is yellow, your favorite color.”
I sniffle as I reach for it, cradling it in the spot between us, as Nick lies us on our sides, still locked inside me.
I stroke my thumb along the smooth glass. It’s Main Street, I can make out Tea Leaves and City Hall. And there’s a little picture of us—a selfie from our first date.
My home.
“This is the most beautiful gift I’ve ever been given.” I meet Nick’s loving gaze and press a kiss to his lips. “I’m so thankful for you.”
“It’s you and me now, Izzy. Forever.”
Forever.
I like the sound of that.
