Epilogue
Ollie - the day before Christmas one year later
The scent of fresh pine needles greeted me when I entered the kitchen a few days before Christmas. A winter wonderland lay beyond the enormous glass doors leading out into the garden.
With a sigh, I pulled my cardigan closer around me and made a fresh pot of coffee.
I loved my life.
Furry arms coming around my waist and hugging me to an even warmer body startled me. Over the grinding of the coffee machine I hadn’t heard the footsteps coming down the stairs.
“Good morning, baby.” Kaspar buried his sleek face in my neck, kissing my skin and grumbling happily. “Did you sleep well? I didn’t even hear you get up.” He yawned. “You wore me out last night.”
I turned in his arms, stealing a peck, then a full kiss, his lips pliable under mine as he caged me to the kitchen counter.
“Good morning, sweetheart.” The pet name had stuck in the end.
It fits.
Kaspar brought sweetness into our lives. We’d had plenty before, but love wasn’t a finite thing. It felt like my heart had grown a new chamber just for him. He hadn’t taken anything away from Bo or me; he’d given us even more.
“Sorry, not sorry.” I grinned and pulled him back into the kiss. “You’ll be so happy when Bo’s back later to take me off your hands.”
Kaspar wrapped a hand around my throat, holding me in place and backing away.
“What a naughty little thing you are,” he crooned, pecking me on the lips.
The rasp of his fur on my scruff made me shiver.
“You know perfectly well I’m not complaining when you fuck me so hard I forget my name.
” His next kiss was slow and deep. “I love it when you top.
You always make me feel like I'm breakable and special.”
I pulled him closer to my body.
“Well, you are my precious little cum dump.” Kaspar shuddered. He loved it when I called him that.
“Besides…I miss Bo. I was hoping we could have spit roast for dinner tonight.” His cheeky grin made me swoon so hard.
“Mm, you’ve been meal planning? I love when you’re speaking my love language, sweetheart.”
“I’m determined to learn it by heart. Bo’s, too.”
Aw, oh God. You cute baby!
I rested my cheek over his heart. Its steady thrumming was one of my favourite sounds. “I want to learn yours, too. Until I know it inside and out.”
I still didn’t know how it happened. How we went from being just Ollie and Bo to having a small family in our own home here in the Fichtel Mountains.
It was surreal, but more than I ever thought I’d have.
He kissed the top of my head. “I love you, baby.”
“I love you, too, sweetheart.”
