Chapter 10
ISLA
Iwoke to the smell of coffee and with a smile on my face. I stretched out along Wyatt’s warm, hard body. A fresh cup of coffee sat on the bedside table, and my smile grew. I was pleasantly sore, but extremely happy.
“You look like the lion who got the cream.” Archer’s amused voice came from the doorway, and I grinned. He was shirtless, his baggy sweats showing a significant bulge.
“I had a good night,” I replied, shifting away from Wyatt to reach for my coffee. Wyatt was having none of that, even in his sleep, and his arm banded around my hip, pulling me backward and tucking me against his body. I could feel his morning wood pressed against my ass.
Archer raised his eyebrows. “I know. I saw.” His eyes were so hot, they were searing my skin. “I’ve never been more jealous of Wyatt in my whole life. I wanted it to be me buried deep in you.”
His words made heat rush to my slightly sore pussy. Should I still call it a pussy, considering I was now actually a type of feline?
Archer swaggered over, sliding into bed beside me and Wyatt.
I pressed closer, feeling like some kind of sexual goddess this morning.
His fingers slipped along my naked form, down over my hip, tracing the crease of my leg.
His fingers slowly dipped between my thighs, and I curled closer.
“Soon, I’m going to find my way here, and I’m going to hear you make those sweet sounds for me.
” His finger pressed gently between my lips and dipped into my tender flesh.
I pushed against his fingers, which curled and hit a sweet spot I didn’t even know I had.
I let out a low moan, and Wyatt’s hand skimmed up my hip to wrap around my mouth.
“Hush, baby, we wouldn’t want anyone to hear,” he whispered against my ear.
Archer pressed in again, gently thrusting in and out of my pussy until I was moaning loudly against Wyatt’s hand and rolling my hips in time with Archer’s clever, clever fingers.
Wyatt groaned as my ass rubbed against his cock.
“Are you going to come for me, Isla?” Archer murmured, the ball of his hand pressing against my clit.
As if his words pulled the orgasm from me like magic, I screamed into Wyatt’s hand and came all over Archer’s fingers.
I moaned as he slid his fingers from me, licking my juices from them.
“Mmm. Damn, you taste good.” With that, he leaned forward and kissed me hard.
“I’ll leave you to get cleaned up. I can’t wait to make you mine, sweetheart. ”
He stood, the tent in his sweats now even bigger. Handing me my coffee, he kissed me again, then swaggered off with a wink. Far out, he was sexy as sin.
Wyatt sat up on his elbow so he could see my face better. “How are you feeling, Lala?”
I smiled at the nickname. “I feel good. Satisfied.” He leaned in and kissed me, making a happy little hum against my lips. As he stood, I appreciated the long, muscular lines of his back and his tight, tanned ass.
He grinned at me over his shoulder. “Good. I’m going to have a hot shower—want to join me?”
Apparently, I’d turned into some kind of sex kitten, because I was out of that bed and pressed against the shower wall faster than you could say orgasm.
When we emerged forty-odd minutes later, no one was in the cabin. Wyatt kissed my cheek. “I’ll go track them down. Sit, have some breakfast. Relax a little.”
I grinned. “If I get any more relaxed, I’ll be boneless on the floor.”
He looked me up and down, his eyes tracing the curves of my body. “Actually, that sounds like a very good idea.”
Laughing, I pushed against his chest. “Get out of here. I need another coffee. Mine got cold,” I said, raising an eyebrow.
Wyatt pulled on a shirt, hiding his long, lithe muscles, and I gave a disappointed sigh.
Such a shame. With another kiss, he was out the front door, and I was alone.
I let out a blissful sigh, but the silence meant my thoughts got too much airplay.
I felt guilty that I hadn’t been around when Bohdie woke up.
I had history with the guys, but to Bohdie, they were still basically strangers.
On the trail of that parental guilt was the knowledge of what I’d done.
I’d slept with Wyatt. I didn’t regret it, but I’d literally been kissing both of his, well, not cousins like I’d always thought, but definitely his best friends.
What kind of person did that make me? How the hell did I think this was going to work?
That I was going to hop from bed to bed as I liked?
My lioness rumbled her agreement in my chest. I frowned. That was a whole other issue I’d been burying in denial. What kind of idiot was happy when everything she’d known about the world had been flipped on its head?
“Stop it.”
I jumped at the sound of Axel’s voice, quickly forcing a smile. “Stop what?”
“Overthinking everything.”
I was going to protest that he couldn’t know what I was thinking, but didn’t bother. This was Axel; he’d always been able to guess my thoughts. So I shrugged. “Can’t help it. There’s a lot on my mind.” Taking a deep drink of my coffee, I swiveled in my chair. “Where’s Bohdie?”
Axel grabbed my hand and pulled me to my feet, leading me from the cabin and onto the front porch.
Standing there in the early morning sun, I had to blink back tears.
Archer was up in a tree, hammering boards between two sturdy branches.
Bohdie stood at the base of the tree, a small hammer in hand, banging nails into the trunk.
The smile on his face made my heart swell with love.
“Every boy needs a fort, and every lion needs a favorite branch. This is a good tree for that.”
I just nodded, unable to form words around the lump in my throat.
Axel threaded his fingers through mine. “You can trust us, Isla. But I know you need time to decide that for yourself. Until then, just know that there isn’t anything we wouldn’t do for you and Bohdie.”
I turned, looking up into his whiskey-colored eyes.
I saw the sincerity there, the promises that would remain unspoken until we could all handle them better.
Burying my face in his chest, I just let him hold me.
In that moment, I put all my trust in these three men, and prayed they wouldn’t let me down.
The next few days followed the same pattern. By day, we moved around as a family—Bohdie having the time of his life in the Nebraskan wilds, and the guys doting on us both. At night, either Wyatt or Archer would take me to bed and make love to me all night long.
I was sleep deprived, but I was happy. Except Axel refused to go past first base.
I’d find myself pressed between his hard body and the wall, getting kissed like I was the last oasis before a desert, but we never got any further than that.
I was… frustrated. I wasn’t sure how I could be frustrated when two hot guys worshiped my body every night, but I was.
I wanted our little harem to be complete.
I needed Axel. But he was stubborn. He just kept saying he was waiting, though he wouldn’t tell me what for.
Just then, Wyatt’s phone rang, scaring the daylights out of me. I was used to being disconnected from the world.
“Wyatt. Yep. Yeah. Okay.” Then he hung up, looking over at Axel and me. “That was Vance. Billy wants to meet.”
“I don’t give a flying…” Archer began, and I cleared my throat loudly. “Uh… a flying monkey what Billy wants.”
Wyatt shrugged. “Can’t hurt to hear what he has to say. Vance offered to come along as a mediator.”
“I don’t trust Winnie the Pooh as far as I could throw his fat ass. I say we go to ground, forget this whole thing exists, and live like we have the last few days.”
That sounded idyllic to me too, but I’d always be wondering when it would end. Waiting for the other shoe to drop. I looked over at Axel, unsure what the right answer was.
“We will go. Archer will stay with Isla and the cub.”
I crossed my arms over my chest. “Like hell. I’m coming. Non-negotiable. Archer can stay with Bohdie. I deserve to hear what this guy says. I want to see his face when I tell him about you know who”—I tilted my head toward Bohdie up in his fort—“and hear his excuses.”
Archer mimicked my stance. “If Isla’s going, I’m going. Wyatt can stay with the cub.”
Axel huffed out a put-upon sigh. “Wyatt is coming. We need his cool head.”
“What are you trying to say?” Archer sounded dangerously close to being offended, making me appreciate why he was being left behind.
“That you have the temperament of an overtired five-year-old and the pigheadedness of a... well, a pig.”
Archer glared at the three of us. “Fine. But I want to know everything he says and does. I want to know if he so much as twitches the wrong way.”
I leaned forward and kissed him. “You got it. Take care of my baby.”
“Our baby,” he whispered back, and my heart clenched.
“I’m not a baby!” Bohdie yelled from the tree fort. I laughed, and it was chorused by the guys.
Wyatt shook his head. “I keep telling you. Shifter hearing.”
