Hunting The Heiress

Hunting The Heiress

By Kathleen Beatty

Prologue

Centuries ago, on the fringes of the galaxy, a savage war raged in a once peaceful system between Calypsta and her two twin moons: Talear, the dune moon with land full of arid heat, unpredictable sandstorms and stinging frigid nights, and her icy opposite, Valaria, known for its snow-covered peaks, frozen tundra, and lush green valleys.

It had begun, as most wars often do, with the death of an heirless king.

Shortly after the untimely death of the King of Calypsta, the greedy rulers of the moons both made a claim to the Calypsian throne.

War soon followed and raged on for years, until one day, during a heavy battle, a massive explosion created a rift on the planet's surface.

A rift that unleashed a crimson substance into the atmosphere.

The toxic substance swiftly engulfed the planet, killing all humanoid life.

Both moons cast blame on the other for the destruction of the planet.

To this day, Calypsta remains uninhabitable for human life. The dense jungle has fully reclaimed her, leaving only ruins as evidence that a past civilization had once thrived there.

Talear and Valeria remain bitter enemies.
