12. Vanya

VANYA

Cabo was so freakin’ beautiful. I almost wanted to take the money that I had and move there.

The bluest water I’d ever seen with the whitest sand on the beaches made for beautiful scenery.

The villa we were staying in was breathtaking.

The rooms were all booked up when Pearce tried to get one for me, but he was able to upgrade to a suite with two bedrooms. At that point, it didn’t matter because the way we fucked like rabbits, we didn’t need separate rooms.

We landed around noon. After taking our luggage to the villa, we grabbed some food and spent some time on the beach.

We then showered and went to dinner. Across from the restaurant was a club and it was surprisingly lit.

They had everything in rotation from Bad Bunny and Drake to Sexyy Red.

I was on my fourth drink. A Future song blared throughout the club, while I grinded on Pearce’s rock-hard penis.

Once we got back to the villa, I knew it was going to be on and popping.

Everything about Cabo was sexy, and Pearce had been so good to me that each time we had sex I turned it up a notch for him.

The tequila in my system had me feeling wicked, and I was determined to have him calling my name by the end of the night.

I would miss him for sure when I moved to Florida but even though we were married, I wasn’t sure I could ever be one hundred percent comfortable living in a city where I could run into Kalim at any given moment.

Plus, what happened if Pearce started dating someone else?

The sex we had was very real. So was the chemistry that we shared, but the marriage wasn’t.

We were two individuals attracted to one another and passing the time in some very fun ways.

But the fun could very well be temporary.

We hadn’t discussed anything further, and I refused to be the one to put myself out there.

I was going with the flow. And while the flow was fun, I knew I needed to get out before I got sucked in too deep.

He had come in like a knight in shining amour and swept me off my feet in every way possible.

It was the perfect fairy tale. A rich, single, handsome, man saved me from the big bad wolf.

I was grateful. Indebted. And turned on like a muhfucka.

Now that I knew him a little better I for sure thought his ex was crazy for allowing Kalim to run her off.

If he protected me and he didn’t love me, I could only imagine what he would have done for her.

It was a shame that she didn’t know that.

Her loss, however. Pearce had me eating my words.

Anything I believed about good men not existing had been determined to be a lie.

From behind me, Pearce looped his arm around my neck. “You ready to go?” he whispered in my ear, and a drunk grin split my lips. The things I was going to do to his ass inside that suite.

I turned around and nodded.

“Drunk ass,” he chuckled.

“I am. But I’m very aware.”

“Is that right?”

Biting my lip, I nodded. “I have some pressure I need you to get up out of me.”

“Straight like that, huh?”

“Straight like that.”

“Say less.

Pearce and I went back to the villa and when I say that man made me cum four times, that’s what I mean. He turned up for me just as much as I turned up for him, and when I sucked his entire dick into my mouth, and I heard him faintly whisper, “Vanya,” I knew I had his ass.

On some dare devil shit, I hopped on his dick and stared into his eyes while I rode him like a trained equestrian. “This fucking pussy,” he moaned. “Got damn.”

His praises had my nub swelling, and my face crumpled as orgasmic spasms ripped through my body.

“Man fuck,” his body jerked as he erupted into me.

If I could dead ass crawl into that man’s skin, I would have.

“Come here.”

Doing as he asked, I leaned in, so that we were chest to chest. I snaked my tongue into his mouth, and we kissed sensually. A knock on the door had me pulling back and frowning. It had to be at least two in the morning, and we hadn’t ordered the 24/7 room service.

“Fuck is that?” his frown mirrored mine.

I rolled off Pearce, and he got up and grabbed a pair of basketball shorts from his suitcase.

I didn’t move because I was still naked and intended to stay that way.

The way the room was laid out, I couldn’t see the door from the bed, but I could hear.

When I heard Pearce say, “What the fuck?” my curiosity got the best of me.

I strained my ears to hear.

“I still got the notification about checking into my flight, so I knew you hadn’t canceled the trip. I decided to come here, so we could talk.” The feminine voice floated into my ears and deflated my heart.

“The fuck? Bro,” Pearce sounded exasperated. “Are you dead serious right now?”

“You got somebody in here?”

“That’s none of your business. Tasha!”

She obviously ignored him because I saw a figure come around the corner, and her eyes widened with shock and horror. “Are you fucking kidding me?” she whirled around to face Pearce.

“Bro, fuck outta here,” he spat. “You left my ass like a thief in the night. You didn’t send a text message, letter, or bat signal.

You dead ass walked away from me leaving me with questions that only you could answer, and you thought I was sitting around twirling my fingers waiting for you to come back? ”

“And we see you didn’t waste any time,” she clicked her tongue. “Is this the woman your father said you were leaving me to marry?”

“Go ask that nigga since you let him get in your head. This isn’t the place that I want to have a conversation. I’m sorry. I paid too much money to be here. You gotta bounce.”

“My name is on this reservation too,” her voice quivered. “I came all the way here. What am I supposed to do?”

“That’s not my problem, Love.”

“Wow. Just wow,” she laughed angrily. “You’re more like Kalim than you want to admit.”

“Fuck outta here with that dumb shit,” he spat. Her eyes finally landed on the band on his hand, and her eyes almost jumped out of her skull.

“You are married! Oh my God! How could you do this to me?” she erupted into tears.

Clearly frustrated, Pearce ran one hand down his face. “Man, this isn’t that.”

“I really can’t believe I was so stupid. Wow.” Tasha angrily brushed her tears away.

Pearce didn’t respond. Instead, they had a brief but very intense stare off as I sat there with the sheet damn near up to my chin with my heart racing.

I wasn’t scared of Tasha. I was scared of what the moment meant.

As mad as he was, I knew there was no way that Pearce had stopped loving her.

It wasn’t possible, and she was back. In the flesh.

Our fun was going to more than likely end much sooner than I had anticipated, and that dead ass had me wanting to cry.

I knew I was making a mistake by allowing myself to just have fun and go with the flow.

That could be done with someone regular. Pearce wasn’t regular. At all.

Finally, she left, and Pearce grabbed the bottle of tequila he’d bought earlier and went out on the balcony.

Awkward. I eased out of bed and went to use the bathroom and take a quick shower.

I wasn’t sure if I should check on Pearce or if he wanted to be alone.

My heart continued to drum in the shower because what was going to happen?

Just because Tasha was back didn’t mean Pearce would stop protecting me.

Did it? He said she didn’t even know about the house that I’d been staying at.

Prayerfully I’d be able to find a place that I liked in Florida because something told me that Tasha popping up was about to complicate the hell out of things.

I had no desire to wait around for Pearce to dismiss me.

There was a possibility that he would stand ten toes down and not deal with Tasha again.

But there was also the chance that he would fold, and I didn’t want to be around for that.

Complicated. The very thing it wasn’t supposed to be.

By the time I got out of the shower, Pearce was still out on the balcony.

I got in bed and wondered where his head was at.

After a few minutes, I got up and went out to check on him.

It was dark out, but from the light in the room, I could see him staring straight ahead holding the bottle of alcohol by the neck.

“I wasn’t sure if I should give you your space or come check on you. You okay?”

Pearce looked over at me and chuckled. “I’m great.” I could tell that was a lie, but I didn’t want to challenge him. He stood up and took a swig from the bottle. “You smell good.”

“Thank you.” I gave him a small smile. It was hard to tell if he was deflecting or if he was really okay. I was sure the alcohol played a part in calming him down. Pearce gripped my waist with his free hand.

“Let’s go to bed.”

The next morning, we woke up and ordered room service for breakfast. I was playing it by ear and trying to determine the kind of mood Pearce was in. “You trying to go ride ATV’s?” he asked while I was looking for something to wear.

“Sure. We can do that. After breakfast or later?”

“We can go after breakfast. I’ll book it right now,” he grabbed his phone.

Since we were going to get dirty, I pulled out a pair of black leggings, a black fitted tee, and sneakers.

My braids were old, so I didn’t care too much about them, but I was still going to put a scarf on.

As soon as I got back home, I was taking them out.

Breakfast was delicious. I felt a little weird studying Pearce to try and find context clues about how he felt, but he honestly acted like he was okay. And maybe he was.

“I tried real hard to go without it, but I can’t.” Pearce shook his head. “I’m going to have to find somebody that can get me some weed.”

“How long has it been since you smoked?” I chuckled.
