chapter 2
Since that day, Rylee's followers didn't dare to mess with me.
She was chatting, but as soon as she saw me approaching, she immediately went silent.
They pretended not to see me and wouldn't message me online either.
But I saw their Instagram posts, a group partying everywhere, celebrating all night.
I scrolled through the pages, my smile growing wider.
Half a month later, Rylee's parents, Gideon and Bailey, held a banquet for their 30th wedding anniversary.
After all, I am Rylee's fianc in name. She still invited me.
I handed the prepared gift to a maid, instructing her to place a hundred pinhole cameras in every room.
She hesitated. "Mr. Barnes, this is illegal. If Ms. Lynch finds out, I'll be kicked out."
I smiled faintly. "You're overthinking. This is just a joke between Rylee and me."
"She knows, see, I even put some up myself."
I pointed to the miniature camera disguised as a shell suit button in front of me.
She stared at me for a moment, suddenly shivered, and nodded repeatedly.
She finished posting and ran off with her suitcase.
I walked into the banquet hall alone and saw Rylee and Finley arriving arm in arm.
Their suit and dress were obviously a matching couple's set, with sweet and intimate smiles.
Seeing me, Finley's face suddenly changed, as if he had run into the Grim Reaper.
He abruptly let go of Rylee's hand, staggered back, and bumped into the long dining table.
His voice trembled, "Ivan, don't get me wrong. I understand what you mean, I'll disappear right now."
He said that, wiped the corner of his eye, and ran off.
Rylee gave me a fierce glare and ran after him.
The two of them ran to the backyard garden.
Gideon and Bailey stood beside me and said earnestly, "Ivan, we all know about what happened on the yacht a few days ago.
"Finley grew up in our family and shares a deep sibling bond with Rylee.
"As Rylee's fianc, don't target Finley anymore.
"In the future, Rylee will attend many social events. Are you going to get jealous every time? It's too unbecoming."
I sneered. "Oh, so theyre just purely close like siblings, huh?
"Truly enviable. I'm an only child, never seen such close relatives."
I took out my phone and opened the remote camera app.
In the hollow of the rockery in the backyard garden, Finley was holding Rylee tightly, one hand firmly on her hip.
He choked up, "Once you get married, you'll leave me all alone. I'm so sad."
"Can you leave me something to remember you by?"
Rylee placed her hands on his neck, gently stroking him, and said, "What do you want? I can give you anything."
He slowly lowered his head, his lips almost touching hers. "A child. We don't have a child yet."
"We're not related by blood. But with a child, we'll have a lifelong bond."
"If you don't want to have sex with me, I can donate sperm instead."
Gideon and Bailey's faces instantly turned pale.
I closed my phone and let out a heartfelt sigh of admiration.
Actually, when I found out Finley had consulted a sperm donation agency, I already guessed he wouldn't hold back.
But hitting on his sister at his adoptive parents' wedding anniversary party, he's truly bold.
I looked at Gideon and Bailey. "I'm naturally a people-pleaser. If this is what Rylee wants, I can help find a top doctor to ensure she gets pregnant quickly."
