chapter 4
The wedding day arrived.
Finley volunteered to be the best man, but his suit was exactly the same as mine, the groom's.
He walked arm in arm with Rylee, looking as perfectly matched as a newlywed couple on the red carpet.
Their eyes were full of love, while I felt like the villain ruining their romance.
I really wanted to puke.
I didnt want to see them anymore, so I packed up and went to the small balcony for some air.
Suddenly, a strong force pulled me into the guest room behind me.
Finley held up a spray bottle and sprayed my face several times.
Caught off guard, I inhaled it and instantly felt weak all over.
He swaggered, punching and kicking me, laughing, "Ivan, aren't you so arrogant?"
"I'll make you livestream as a bitch at the wedding, guarantee you'll be world-famous, and you'll even thank me for it!"
I collapsed on the ground, gasping weakly. "Do you think the Barnes family is easy to mess with?"
He sneered coldly, his eyes full of disdain. "The Barnes family? Just a small clan about to be swallowed by the Lynch family, and you dare threaten me?"
"Maybe before the takeover, your whole family will already be dead."
He casually kicked me, stripped off my clothes, and after checking, said, "You like recording? Don't worry, what gets filmed later will only be you and the dog."
"In just a few days, your parents will join you in hell."
He stood up, snapped his fingers, and barking came from the corner.
Three burly men walked over, each leading a female dog in heat.
Finley glanced back at me, eyes filled with malice and glee, then left with a smile.
I lay on the ground and chuckled softly.
Finley, go ahead and laugh.
Soon, you won't be able to laugh anymore.
Meanwhile, the banquet began, guests took their seats, the host was in place, but the bride and groom were nowhere to be seen.
My parents, Archer and Stella, kept glancing around, their brows furrowing tighter and tighter.
Gideon and Bailey, palms sweating, quickly flattered, "Don't worry, maybe they got held up with something private."
"I've already instructed the servants to go and fetch them."
"Today will definitely be a perfect wedding, nothing will go wrong."
Archer remained expressionless, while Stella lightly curled her lips. "Don't forget the wedding is being live-streamed. If something goes wrong and we don't cover it up, your company's stock price might not survive tomorrow's opening."
No need to finish the sentence; the meaning is clear.
Gideon and Bailey turned pale but didn't dare say more.
Suddenly, the music from the speakers stopped. After a brief silence, there was a deep, irregular noise.
Bailey roared, "Who's in charge of the sound system? Fix it now!"
Immediately, she forced a smile and said to Archer and Stella, "Just a small issue, it'll be fixed soon! Look, the host is already on stage."
But after the noise stopped, it wasn't music that playedit was an extremely suggestive moan.
In an instant, Archer and Stella turned their heads, looking around, their eyes uniformly filled with shock, anger, and confusion.
