Chapter 3 #3
I am annoyed by him, but I also feel some foreign feeling in the pit of my stomach. I feel like I want to vomit.
I’ve never experienced this before. So I am confused by it.
I don’t like it.
I look away first.
“Soooo…” Dandy says, “can you wait a few minutes while Kit helps me move the boxes from my car?”
I nod, words escaping me after whatever the fuck that was with Kit.
Kit coolly slides off the stool with that damn smirk still painted on his stupidly handsome face. He and Dandy exit from the front door. Once they’re outside, I grip the edge of the counter, bend low, and take three deep breaths.
What was that?
Suddenly, anxiety creeps in, and I know being alone in a car with Kit is a bad idea.
I grab the notepad and scribble a note to Dandy.
Rode home.
Don’t follow.
You will never find me (mwahahaha).
See you tomorrow.

Grabbing my things, I quietly exit from the back and lock the door. Once my bike lock is undone, I quickly ride off into the night.
I decide to take the back roads because no doubt Dandy will come looking for me, regardless of my telling him not to.
But after whatever that was with Kit, I need some space to…breathe.
It’s a hot summer’s night, but my fast pace whips the wind across my cheeks, cooling me.
Why am I suddenly so hot?
The way his vibrant eyes lit up when he caught me staring sends a shiver down my spine. It made me want to slap the smugness from his cheeks, but also kiss them.
Something is seriously wrong with me.
I turn left onto a gravel back road used only by locals. The potholes don’t make it ideal to navigate. I slow down as it’s dark out this way with no streetlights or houses in sight.
Focusing on staying alive helps me ignore Kit’s tempting, mischievous expression.
“Ugh!”
My house is about two miles away, which is why I didn’t make a fuss about riding. I enjoy being out in the open, especially late at night, when most are in their homes, tucked into bed, safe and sound.
I relish the darkness of being alone.
I know this is hardly “normal” for a girl my age, but I accepted long ago that I wasn’t normal.
And I’m okay with that.
Suddenly, headlights are behind me, and the engine revving alerts me that someone has turned down the road. I move from the middle of the road to the side, giving them plenty of space to pass.
I know it’s not Dandy’s car because his car isn’t this loud.
As the tires kick up the gravel, it’s apparent that instead of slowing down, the driver has pressed their foot on the pedal.
I assume it’s kids out for a joyride, but when I turn over my shoulder and see the car gaining speed and heading straight for me, I realize their presence isn’t a coincidence.
They’re here for me.
Immediately, I ride my bike off the road, jump off, and run into the wooded area. I tear off my backpack and toss it aside since it’s slowing me down.
The car screeches to a stop. I then hear three doors open and slam shut, and footsteps pound on the gravel as they give chase.
I berate myself for not being more careful. But usually, no one takes this route.
The catcalls of the boys chasing me echo from the tall trees. They sound like frenzied animals chasing their prey.
The farther I run, the denser things are. The greenery is thick, and I soon lose my way.
Left is right.
Right is left.
My heart is in my throat.
I jump over a fallen tree and instantly lose my footing as my ankle rolls when I land in a ditch.
I don’t stop, however.
I hobble away, listening for any clues to where my attackers are. Their heavy footsteps scatter, indicating they are running in different directions. They’re crisscrossing, covering more ground.
If I continue running, they’ll eventually catch me.
So I decide to hide.
There’s a hill ahead with, from memory, a stream down below. I know there are some alcoves along the riverbed.
Just as I reach the edge and am about to throw myself down the hill, the back of my T-shirt snags because someone snares it and yanks me backward.
I fight with all my might, but he grabs me by the hair.
“I’ve got the bitch!” he alerts the others, but I don’t recognize his voice.
I attempt to twist out of his hold, but he’s holding me tight. He latches onto the back of my neck and draws me into his chest.
“Stop squirming,” he warns with his lips too close to my ear. He smells of whiskey.
I jerk my head away, but he bends forward and licks along the side of my neck.
Everything is soon replaced with fear.
“Dude, she’s quick for a small thing,” says another boy, panting. He’s young. My age, I would guess. He has a lisp.
“Bring her back to the car,” orders the last boy. He sounds older than the other two. He also sounds like the one in charge.
I don’t recognize any of their voices, and they make sure I don’t recognize their faces either, as a pillowcase is shoved over my head. My hands are loosely bound in front of me with rope. This was premeditated.
I am then led blindly.
There’s no escape.
Two boys are on either side of me, holding my arms tightly. The other is on the phone.
“Yup, we got her.”
I think on my toes and differentiate my three attackers by the limited information I have.
The older one has a raspy voice, as if smoking one too many cigarettes. I dub him Smokes.
Some talking from whoever Smokes is on the phone with before silence.
“Really?” Smokes asks, as if incredulous to the request. “Yes, of course we do, but—”
He’s cut off.
A moment later, he hangs up.
“What did Legs—” Lisp says.
“Shh! No names, remember?”
I know this is useless, but I have to at least try. “What do you want? I am nobody!”
I struggle against my captors, but they only hold on tighter.
They don’t answer me.
The tension can be cut with a knife, and it’s soon revealed why when the boys stop walking, but don’t let me go.
“Get on your knees,” orders Smokes.
“W-what?” I question, because this is very reminiscent of my uncle’s demands.
“You heard me.”
In case I didn’t, I am shoved down, sticks and stones digging into my knees. I try to stand, but am thumped on the back of the head, instantly seeing stars.
“What now?” asks the boy, Whiskey, to my right.
It’s apparent that whoever was on the phone is the leader, and these boys are merely the messengers. But the instruction has changed.
“Hold her down.”
It takes me a second to register what he said, but when I do, I shoot up and run blindly, ignoring my twisted ankle. I don’t care where to. I just need to get away.
“Help!” I scream at the top of my lungs.
But it’s fruitless.
I bump into something hard and fall backward onto my ass. I try to scamper away, but with my hands tied, all I can do is drag myself along the ground.
A foot presses into my lower back, prohibiting me from moving. I feel like a bug beneath his shoe.
My legs are soon restrained.
I wiggle and attempt to break free, but I’m restrained by two of the three. The last boy makes his intentions clear when he scoops his hand underneath me and unfastens the button on my shorts.
“NO!” I roar, kicking out violently.
But I am only pinned down harder.
He yanks my shorts down my legs, exposing my ass to the sky.
Eager hands grope me. It feels as if this is the first time they’ve been this close to a girl. One of them slips his fingers into the waistband of my underwear. I buck wildly, but I don’t stand a chance, and my floral underwear soon follows my shorts.
With my bare ass visible, I feel vulnerable and scared. I’ve never been naked in front of a boy before. I haven’t even been kissed.
So this is too much.
“Please no,” I beg, but the unmissable sound of a zipper being undone echoes loudly out here in the wilderness.
No, this can’t be happening.
“Enough playing. Keep her still,” commands Smokes.
I kick and scream, fighting like a wild animal.
But my arms are yanked painfully above my head, and my ankles are pinned as the boy gets on top of me.
My screams are muffled with the pillowcase still secured over my head, but it’s soon soaked with tears when, with an animalistic grunt, the boy pushes into me crudely.
Time stands still when I realize what is happening.
I gag on the intake of air, which gets lodged in my throat. I try to breathe, but would rather die as he starts moving, tearing at my sensitive flesh.
The pillowcase is lodged down my throat as I’m nearly hyperventilating.
I can’t control my breathing.
My heart rate.
I am helpless to it all.
It hurts.
It burns.
He tears through raw tissue, and I feel fluid running down my inner thighs.
“Ewww!” Smokes shrieks. “She fucking pissed herself!”
He speaks to his friends like I’m not here. Like he isn’t raping me, out here in the woods, blindfolded and pinned down by a pack of animals.
I’m suddenly embarrassed, which I berate myself for.
He pulls out and spits on my sex before forcing his way back into me. He picks up the speed, fucking me crudely with his disgusting dick. I am merely a vessel for him to get off into, and when he comes with a sated groan, I feel utterly hollow.
“Your turn!” says Smokes, zipping up his pants.
I drift onto a different plane, where this isn’t happening. I am with Dandy in his tree house, laughing as we drink tea from his mom’s fancy cups. I’m in the library, my happy place surrounded by all the books. I’m Baby, dancing with Johnny Castle.
I want to be anywhere but here, feeling this raw, cruel pain.
The pillowcase is soaked with my saliva and tears. I scream and scream until my throat is raw.
My ankles are let go, and that boy then takes over where his friend left off. He thrusts his fingers into me and moans.
I die another small death.
I don’t know who is who anymore.
I throw up. My face is pressed into my vomit.
“First time fingering a pussy?” Smokes crudely asks with a laugh. “Stick your cock in. It feels even better. Trust me. Especially a tight virgin pussy.”
They’re feeding off each other, egging each other on to pass off any blame. If they’re all involved, then they’re all rapists. So no one can rat on the other.
