Chapter 20 #2
The creature who’d jumped on what was left of the wreckage was almost a wolf. Maybe? But also human. Maybe? I honestly couldn’t tell, but it was apparent I had a concussion because I was definitely seeing things that couldn’t possibly be there.
Monsters rescuing people in the middle of a storm. What were the odds?
Yet the more I blinked, the more I concentrated on the creature’s eyes. They were the same intense blue that had attracted me to Beck in the first place. Only Beck wasn’t here, my mind playing tricks on me.
Just when I thought things couldn’t get any weirder, I was suddenly scooped off the seat and into some seriously powerful arms. At least I thought they were arms. Yes, they were. As soon as my fingers touched the beast’s muscles, I was certain.
Or was I in the throes of madness?
The wolflike man peered down at me, nodding once before cradling me against the warmth of his chest. In the next minute or so, I marveled in his scent, rich in testosterone and sandalwood while feeling perfectly fine with nuzzling against his furry chest. As I finally started to relax, even dozing off, I could swear I heard him calling out my name.
* * *
“So you’re a werewolf?” When I asked him the question, he seemed amused.
“Not a werewolf. A shifter. Big difference.”
“But you become a wolf every full moon cycle. Right?”
He laughed. “Uh, no. A myth. Do you know the first werewolf story was created in ancient Greece with the legend of King Lycaon of Arcadia? He served human flesh to Zeus to test the god’s omniscience. In turn and as punishment, Zeus turned the king into a wolf, which inspired the term lycanthropy.”
“Fascinating. So you eat people.”
He took my hand into his and I guess I was a danger junkie because I didn’t pull away.
However, when he brought my fingers to his mouth, even sucking on them, I did come close to experiencing an orgasm.
Even to the point of squirming in my seat.
The beast incarnate even bit my index finger, growling as he did.
“Very funny,” I told him. “But do you eat people?”
With a wink, he pulled my fingers free with a loud pop. “With a nice bottle of chianti and some fava beans. No, we don’t eat people.”
“But you have forests sectioned off for you and your barbeque-loving buddies so you can play and frolic in the trees, finishing off your day with a spit roast and a beer after your hunt. Right?”
His sigh was heavy. “Okay, so once upon a time, we used to hunt for our food. Rabbits. Deer. Sometimes elk.”
“That doesn’t sound like the start to a traditional fairytale.”
“You’re the most frustrating woman I’ve ever met.”
“Does that mean you want to… eat me?” I looked down, noticing his cock was fully erect. After dragging my tongue across my bottom lip, I finally lifted my gaze to meet his.
“Baby. I thought you’d never ask.” Smiling, he cracked his neck from one side to the other just before the entire room seemed to vibrate.
Now came the good part.
His transformation.
Bones cracked. Muscles lengthened. Tendons stretched.
Claws replaced fingers.
“Very sexy,” I breathed while watching him intently. I was so turned on I rubbed the flat of my hand down my chest, curling my fingers so I could stroke my clit. He could certainly put on an incredible show. When he was finished, I tickled the fur behind his ear. “You can be a very good boy.”
He shoved me down, immediately lifting my legs and bending my knees. As soon as he spread them wide open, he offered me another beautiful look at his wolf, snout and all.
Just before he buried his face in my wetness. As I curled my fingers through his coarse fur, I lolled my head to the side. There was nothing like the power of his long, wet tongue.
“Shit.” I jerked up, gasping for air. Instantly, I knew something was very wrong. I was freezing, my body shivering uncontrollably.
Werewolves?
Growling.
No, the beast had been howling in satisfaction. After feasting. Oh, my God. What was wrong with me?
I clawed my throat as stars floated in front of my eyes.
A beast licking my wet… Oh, my God. I ripped at whatever was holding me, fighting to check to see if I was okay.
“Stop. Just stop what you’re doing.”
A very deep voice managed to calm me down, but only for a few seconds. I was so disoriented I was still in a crazy vision of being with a wolf. Whoa… The same voice. Very slowly, I lifted my head, completely terrified my assumption I’d lost my mind would be discovered as correct.
When I was staring into deep blue eyes, irises shimmering in gold, I sucked in my breath with an audible moan.
“You’re okay now, but you were in a pretty horrific accident, so you need your rest.” Leaning over the bed was none other than the Devil himself.
Was it possible I’d died and the ugly minions the beast controlled by dark forces had dragged me straight to hell?
Beck chuckled. “You look like you’re seeing a ghost.”
“More like a werewolf.”
His snort allowed me to know I wasn’t witnessing an apparition. Just then, another person appeared, a woman dressed in shrubs.
“Ah, you’re awake. Excellent.” The woman busied herself with checking some monitor. That’s when I realized I was plugged in. “Your blood pressure is a little high, but I’m certain that’s a product of coming out of your coma.”
“I was in a coma?” I croaked out.
