Chapter 61

Chapter Sixty-One

Riley’s Poem:

When you smile, I feel warm

Even in December

My heart does a weird thing

Like a squirrel in a blender

Nat’s Poem:

Riley, when you smile, I look a lot

Then I look some more like a man who got got

Then I look at your eyes, which are important to me

I’m addicted to you

Like I am to coffee

Riley’s Poem:

If your eyes were a color wheel,

I would stop the wheel on green

The other colors?

They would go unseen.

Nat’s Poem:

Riley, when you walk into a room,

I forget why I’m there

Except to exist at the same time

And breathe the same air

Riley’s Poem:

I wish I could tell you

Every time I see you

I want to show you my heart so badly

But you won’t ever choose me

Nat’s Poem:

I choose you.

In every world. In every timeline.

And when you feel broken

I’ll make you feel fine.

Neither of us are poets and that much is true

But the one thing that won’t change with time is…

Riley, I love you.
