It’s never exactly shown up on the screen, because there’s no sex in the AdventureVerse, and major characters don’t get romantic arcs until the viewers have democratically voted on them.
But you know in your heart: you knew it even when you were little.
Orlande isn’t shy. Orlande would have swept the beautiful, repentant, rescued mermaid off her nonexistent feet.
Orlando is a part of you. He’ll always come when you call. But in the real world, there are other parts of you, too. There are other reasons why you make your choices, and why you act the way you do. It’s not that you’re bad at being Orlando; it’s that, even though he’s part of you, you’re not him.
And if this past day is any indication, then maybe you’re better—maybe you’re braver—when you’re following nobody’s rules but your own.
