Chapter 24 #3

Then he noticed the downstairs bedroom door was closed. Muted laughter drifted through it. A moment later it was replaced by low noises that told him exactly what was going on in there. And by the sound of it, there were at least four guys involved.

Nobody else seemed interested. Nobody stared or whispered.

And Owen was nowhere to be seen.

Curiosity eventually drew him back outside. The air had cooled enough to be comfortable, and the garden glowed beneath the lanterns.

Then he noticed he wasn’t alone.

A couple sat on the low wall, facing each other, one almost in the other’s lap, the pair of them lost in their own world of slow, drugging kisses.

Lights shone through the windows of the barn, unfiltered by blinds.

One man stood with his palms pressed to the glass, another man behind him, and Matt’s breathing hitched when he watched them moving together, one slamming into the other, neither of them seemingly bothered by the fact that they were visible. Not to mention naked.

Don’t look.

Then he realised he wasn’t the only one watching. Spectators stood close to the barn, as mesmerised as Matt was.

He forced himself to look elsewhere, to shut his ears to the low cries.

Adam stood by the pool, gazing at the reflections. He turned his head as Matt approached, and smiled.

“Ah, the gardener.”

Matt tried to breathe evenly.

Of course Adam noticed.

He glanced towards the barn. “It happens,” he said with a shrug. “And by the end of next week, it’ll probably be online.”

Matt blinked. “They’re filming it?”

“Content, sweetheart, content. Never miss an opportunity.” Then he chuckled. “And that’s tame compared to what’s going on in there.” He inclined his head toward the garden room.

Matt peered across to where the wide bi-fold doors to the garden room stood open, spilling warm light across the patio. Even at this distance, the sounds emanating from the room made it obvious what was going on.

He returned his attention to Adam. “I see.”

Adam cocked his head. “You can go and take a peek, if you want. There’s no charge.” His eyes gleamed. “It would also be quite an… education.”

Matt managed a smile. “It’s okay. I’ve watched guys having sex before.”

Adam folded his arms. “So you’ve seen DP up close? I stand corrected.”

He frowned. “DP?”

“Double penetration. Three guys. Two dicks. One hole.”

Heat flooded Matt’s face. “Oh.”

“Maybe that’s more education than you bargained for.”

Matt swallowed. “Where’s Owen?”

Adam’s eyes gleamed. “Probably busy.” Then he smiled. “Maybe not. There he is now.”

Matt turned and spotted him. He stood on the patio outside the garden room, close enough to a guest—Phil?

I think that was his name—that their shoulders touched as they talked.

Whatever he said made Owen laugh. Phil reached up and brushed his fingers over Owen’s T-shirt, his fingers lingering for a heartbeat before he cupped Owen’s cheek.

Only then did Matt register what Phil was wearing. Or rather, what he wasn’t. His black thong left very little to the imagination.

Matt’s ears warmed. It wasn’t the sight itself that caught him off guard, but what it quietly announced.

Phil wasn’t on his way somewhere. He’d already been somewhere.

Owen didn’t pull away. He smiled as Phil leaned in and kissed him, his lips brushing over Owen’s neck, fingers straying over Owen’s chest, their connection comfortable, familiar.

The sort of kiss between two people who knew each other well.

Matt slowed without meaning to, unable to look away.

The kiss ended with Owen smiling at something Phil whispered, his hand resting briefly against Phil’s waist before dropping away.

Some called out from inside the garden room. “Are you two coming back, or are we starting without you?” Laughter followed.

Phil glanced towards the open doors. “In a minute!” He gazed back at Owen. “They’re impatient.”

Owen grinned. “They usually are.”

Phil chuckled, then leaned in again, his lips close to Owen’s ear.

Owen laughed, reached down, grabbed Phil’s arse, and gave it a squeeze.

Then he turned his head and noticed Matt. “There you are. I was wondering where you’d disappeared to.”

Matt smiled automatically, his mind in the process of analysis.

Owen was attractive. Owen flirted. Owen kissed people.

None of that was new.

Yet standing there, watching it happen, Matt discovered something he hadn’t known about himself until that moment.

He didn’t like it one bit.

Apparently, knowing something and seeing it in the flesh were two very different things.

Then Owen smiled.

Just for a second, everything else seemed to disappear. It wasn’t the easy, sociable smile he’d given Phil.

This one was quieter, warmer, as if he’d been looking for Matt without realising it.

From behind Owen came noises that left nothing to the imagination.

Matt’s heartbeat raced.

Phil gave Matt an appraising glance. “I can see why you hired him.”

Matt wasn’t sure whether he was offended or flattered.

“Down, boy.” Owen’s tone held amusement.

Phil coughed, then addressed Matt. “We’re about to steal Owen for a while.”

Matt glanced towards the room, then back at Owen.

Their eyes met.

Phil gave a knowing smile before leaning in.

“If you’d like to join us, there’s room for one more.”

Matt’s heart skipped a beat.

Fuck.
