8. Law
CHAPTER 8
Law
F uck. Fuck. Fuck.
If I could arrest this little bastard right now, I would. But I can’t. I have to bring this fucking bag into the captain and wait for confirmation. Which means I have to let Nell believe I’m buying fucking drugs for at least twenty-four hours.
“What I wouldn’t do to get down her fucking pants,” Dallas remarks as Nell runs from me after I failed to defend her to this pissant piece of garbage.
Jamming my forearm into his neck, I hold him against the wall. “One more word out of turn about Nell Tucker, and I’ll end your fucking life.”
“Shit, man. Don’t gotta get your panties in a twist.” He straightens his collar as I let him go. Walking away, I palm the bag in my pocket, already knowing it’s Molly. AKA, Ecstasy, and I’m pissed all over again. The fact that this math teacher is dealing drugs and this punk ass is insulting my girl makes me want to arrest them both now.
I’m fucking done with seeing hurt in Nell’s eyes so damn often. I’m sick of lying to her. I’m just fucking tired.
Pulling out my phone, I send a text to Nell first.
Law: I’m sorry. I’m coming by tonight to explain.
I’m not coming back to this fucking school if I can help it unless it has to do with an arrest or to claim Nell.
Nell: Don’t bother.
Law: Swan, I’ll be there.
Nell: ???
Those fucking bubbles. I slam my car door shut as I wait for her to say something.
Nell: You’re as bad as him. Leave me alone.
Law: Not a fucking chance.
Nell: I don’t want to see you.
Law: I came inside you, repeatedly, you don’t get to push me out now.
Nell: ???
Nell: Asshole.
Law: See you later.
Whether she likes it or not, she’s mine. I’m going to have to grovel for a long fucking time, but she’ll come around.
She has to.
It’s after midnight, and I still haven’t been able to get away from the lab or my captain. Nell isn’t answering my messages, and I have a feeling winning her over is going to be harder than I originally thought, and the linchpin will be her dad.
“Cap, can I go now? What the fuck do you need me here for? Prelims say it’s Molly.” He’s fucking doing this purposely, the bastard.
“No. You stay put until we’re ready to roll in the morning.”
“You want me here all fucking night?” I can’t believe him.
“You need to brief narcotics in the morning. This is your bust, Law, unless you want to hand it off to someone who has no clue what they’re doing…” He lets that hang. I’ve never been one to pass my work off, and I’m not about to start now.
“Fuck. Fine. Jack better keep Nell in his office after this goes down. I have to be the one to explain to her about who I am.”
Cap smirks, and I know that’s why he’s holding me here. He thinks I’m going to blab to her before the bust goes down.
Fucking hell.
Rock meet hard place and throw me in a goddamned hole.
