Chapter 11

Genesis and I had some time to ourselves since Paris was with my parents, so we decided to take advantage of it. The weather was nice, so we had lunch outside at a local restaurant, then we headed to a nearby mini golf place.

Genesis drove with one hand on the wheel and the other on my thigh. I stared at him as he rapped along to the song that played on the radio.

“Okay. Principal by day, thug by night,” I teased.

He glanced in my direction and smirked. “Don’t let the slacks fool you, baby. I ain’t no punk.”

“I know you aren’t.” I giggled.

Genesis didn’t peg me for the scary type, but he had a career, so I knew he didn’t move without intention. At least when it came to things that could send him to jail.

“This my shit, though.” He continued rapping to the song until it went off.

I enjoyed watching him enjoy himself. It was fun getting to know him outside of being a father to Paris. Genesis was sweet. He always checked on Paris and me.

“I can tell,” I mentioned.

When the next song came on, he turned the radio down.

“Have you ever done drugs?”

“What?” My eyes widened by his random ass question. “Where did that come from?”

Genesis squeezed my thigh, then made small circles on it. His hand had been there from the moment we left my house. I think he only took it off once for a quick second, then it was right back on me. I found comfort in the way he had to have at least one hand on me whenever we were together.

“It was just a thought. The other day when I was at work, someone mentioned the program they used to have about drugs, and I realized they don’t do that anymore in the schools, and that’s crazy to me.

I smoked weed and ate some edibles, but that’s about it.

I wasn’t trying to do anything beyond that. ”

“Is this a judgment free zone?” I asked.

Genesis looked my way as we came to a stoplight. “Aw shit. I promise not to judge you as long as it wasn’t crack or heroin.”

I playfully punched his arm and laughed. He grabbed his arm like it hurt, even though I knew it didn’t. When the light turned green, he slowly pulled away but kept looking at me, waiting for my answer.

“Wouldn’t matter because you are stuck with me.

We share a child together.” I stuck my tongue out when he looked at me again.

“Anyway, I have tried molly before, and I hated that shit. It didn’t do anything but keep me awake all night.

The dude I was with—well, I won’t tell you about all of that.

Just know that I didn’t like it. It was my first year of college. ”

Genesis cut his eye at me and shook his head.

“Remember, no judgment,” I reminded him.

“I guess.” He chuckled. “Nah, for real. I think we’ve all done shit in college we aren’t proud of. Why won’t you tell me about the guy, though?”

We arrived at the mini golf place, and Genesis found a parking spot. He didn’t immediately turn the car because he was too busy worried about my response.

“I’m sure you don’t want to hear about any of my sexual experiences.”

“What you did before me ain’t got shit to do with me. I already know it ain’t gonna be another one after me, so . . .” He shrugged.

“Let’s just say he had trouble staying hard, even though he wanted to keep having sex.

At some point I was uninterested, but he insisted on continuing.

The night turned out long and boring as hell.

I told myself I wasn’t doing anything besides drinking and maybe weed.

I haven’t smoked in a while, and we see where drinking led me. ” I giggled.

Genesis shut his SUV off, then leaned over the console so he was right in my face.

“It led you to your future.” He kissed my lips, then took off his seat belt. “I hope you know how to play golf,” he said as he opened his car door.

When he came to my side of the car, I put my hand in his outstretched hand and got out of the car.

“I do know how to play,” I told him as we walked toward the front desk.

Genesis paid for our time and got a couple of clubs and multiple golf balls.

We walked to the first hole, and I got the ball in with no trouble.

“I told you I know what I’m doing.” I wasn’t good at golf at all, but I wasn’t going to admit that. I played before over the years and always sucked at it.

Genesis took his turn, and his ball went in with no problem either.

“You got lucky. Plus, the first couple of holes are always easy. Wait until we get to the fifth hole or so, then talk that shit.”

We moved on to the next hole, and we talked about how he got into golfing when he was younger. Apparently, he was on the golf team in college but wasn’t interested in taking it to the professional level.

We talked more as we moved to the next few holes. At first, I did good. Some holes it took me one try to get it in. Some of the other ones, it took me a couple of tries, but none of them were that difficult.

It wasn’t until we got to the sixth hole that I had trouble. I hit the ball multiple times, and each time it went everywhere but the hole. Genesis watched and laughed the whole time.

“I thought you knew what you were doing.”

I put up my middle finger and focused on my shot. I didn’t need his petty self distracting me.

As I lined up my club with the ball, I felt Genesis come behind me. The scent of his cologne filled my nose.

“You know I don’t have a problem fucking you if you want. We can even go to the truck, or hell, we can utilize one of the bathrooms here. Just say the word, sweetheart.” He kissed my ear, and I shuddered. He put his hands on my hips and whispered in my ear, “Let me show you how it’s done.”

I tried to focus when he moved to put his hands over mine, but I felt his dick poking me.

“It’s all in the hips.”

With Genesis’s hands over mine, I closed my eyes and swung the club. This time, the ball had gotten closer to it than the other times I tried.

“You did good. Try it again. Since it’s closer to the hole, you don’t have to put too much effort into it.”

We moved toward the ball, and Genesis stood back with his hands in his pocket while he watched me.

I inhaled a deep breath and squared my shoulders, before I released the breath and swung the club.

Genesis walked over to me and hugged me. “I told you,” Genesis said after the ball went into the hole.

“I think I can win the next few rounds,” I joked as he grabbed the ball out of the hole.

“Sure. We only have a few more holes left. Afterward, we can go and get something to eat because being out here made that food from earlier wear off.”

We walked to the next hole, and Genesis placed the ball down so he could take his turn.

“That sounds good to me. I know I’m thirsty as heck. I might need to pump soon too.”

“We don’t have to finish if you don’t want to,” Genesis said, then hit the ball.

Of course, his went in with ease.

“Show-off. No, I want to finish.”

I took my turn, and my ball went in as well.

“Let’s finish, then.” He kissed my cheek, then reached for my hand so we could move on to the next hole.

It took us a little while longer to complete the course, and Genesis did much better than I did, but it was fun. He helped me with the holes I struggled with, even though he laughed the whole time, since I claimed I could play.

“This was fun,” I said as we walked to the car.

“It was. And even though you struggled, you were a good sport.” He pecked my lips before opening the car door for me.

Spending time with him made me sort of regret sneaking out of the hotel room like I did. We could have built the bond we were building a long time ago.
