Prelude

When I first saw the movie Sliding Doors, I was struck by the concept that just one small thing could change everything that happens from that point onwards.

This concept is never more apparent than when applied by the many Jane Austen fan writers who examine Pride And Prejudice and ask the question; But what if… ?

This is one of those what if…? stories.

An inconveniently timed thunderstorm changes everything for Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy. Mr. Collins proves to be far worse than Elizabeth could ever have imagined, and Darcy is forced to confront both his feelings for her and his own flaws of character head-on.
