Chapter 14 Roses Downstairs
I couldn't deny that Xie Mingming's words really hit me.
These past few days, he stuck to me every moment. I had no way to leave.
Zhou Muyan also put off work and stayed home every day.
I seriously suspected that Zhou Muyan had sold me out.
At night, I had just coaxed Xie Mingming to sleep when I saw Zhou Muyan planted in the doorway.
I came out of the room and looked at the person in front of me, his face full of mischief, a little helpless.
"You planned this with Xie Mingming long ago, didn't you?"
Zhou Muyan gave a light laugh.
"You caught me.
"Xie Mingming and I both need you very much. If you won't stay, then we'll follow you. Wherever you go, we'll go."
"Zhou Muyan, you're shameless. You said you wouldn't force me again!"
Did he ever tell the truth?
Zhou Muyan's smile was certain. "No. We're not forcing you. We're using love to move you."
"???"
Zhou Muyan pulled me downstairs. Every patch of floor under my feet was covered in rose petals.
In the very center of the living room, candles had been arranged into the shape of a heart.
It was so cheesy, but for some reason my heart still wouldn't stop racing.
Zhou Muyan dropped to one knee and slowly pulled from his person... a Property Deed.
Probably seeing the confusion on my face, Zhou Muyan explained.
"Don't get the wrong idea. I know you definitely wouldn't agree to a proposal right now. I figure, no amount of words asking you to stay could be more solid than just giving you a house here."
Zhou Muyan placed the Property Deed in my hands.
"Your name is on it. You own it alone.
"I won't force you. You're still free."
In that instant, I admitted I hesitated.
"If you still have any concerns, say them all. About my mom—you should have noticed. She hasn't shown up for many days."
I was afraid of being too blunt, so I had held back and never asked.
It wasn't until the next day that I understood what Zhou Muyan meant by that.
