CHAPTER FIVE
-
AMARI
I know she can feel my presence here in this parking garage. Earlier, I was able to sneak into the law firm and drop off my first letter to her at the front desk. I need to get better at predicting the routines of those around the firm to ensure I don't get caught while leaving things for her.
I did some more digging, and I learned she has been dating someone named Alexander for a little while now.
This helps me for now because if I sign the letters with an A, then she can think it’s him.
Well, that’s until she confronts him about it.
I’ll approach that obstacle when we get to that point.
For now, I want to make her feel antsy and know someone is around watching her every move.
I can see her in her navy suit, looking around the parking garage in a panic, trying to figure out where the watching eyes are.
Sadly for her, she won’t find me. I’m hidden within the shadows where she won’t have a clue unless she looks hard enough.
After I was able to get out of prison earlier today, I located my car that had been taken away when I was arrested and parked not too far out of the parking garage. This will allow me to follow her movement when she leaves out of here.
Once I see she is settled into her car, I quickly make my way to mine in order to see where she is heading. This is probably frowned upon, especially with my criminal status, but nobody is going to know unless I end up getting caught, which I'm not going to let happen.
After sitting in the car for a few minutes, I see her silver sedan pull out of the parking garage and pull right past where I’m parked.
It appears she’s on her phone, so she will be too distracted to notice someone is following her.
I know it’s important to keep some distance between us so she won’t see me, but it’s a little hard because I want to be right in her space.
As I’m following behind her, I realize she is heading home.
She makes a few left and right turns before driving through one of the neighborhoods not too far from the law firm.
I know I have to be very careful now because there aren’t many cars to keep a distance between us.
I can see her slowing down and getting ready to pull into a driveway, so I wait until she gets out of her car before driving down her street. She’s definitely home.
I pull out my notepad and make a note of her address, just in case I need it some other time.
1234 Jolliff Lane.
This is both a good and a bad thing, because now, I can keep an eye on her while she’s at home and at work.
Call me crazy, but this is just what I needed.
I can see straight into their home with the blinds wide open, but what I see before me has me wanting to get out of the car and run into the house.
Nobody can hurt my sweet girl.
The site I see in front of me is that terrible man using her body as his punching bag.
I don’t know what was said or what happened, but she doesn’t deserve this.
I know I can’t intervene now because it can send me right back to prison.
I hate that I’m witnessing this happen before my eyes.
I really want to jump in and pull her away from this man, but all I do is drive away.
Maybe I’ll be back later in the night.
