6. - – Corvina Whitmore

CHAPTER SIX

-

CORVINA WHITMORE

My blonde hair has been styled in a bridal half-updo with my hair in waves, none of my bruises covered up, and my body aches from the beating I had from the cock-goblin men.

My white dress is a sheer material that looks like it was made for me personally by one of the people here.

I don't understand why I have to be nude on my wedding day, marrying a monster who killed my fucking friend and taking me away from his daughter, whom, unfortunately, I am falling for, doesn't make this situation any easier.

I look at myself in the mirror, and all I see is this girl who has a broken soul.

The man she once loved being taken away, the result of that destroyed every part of herself to come here.

This is where my story should end once I walk down the aisle.

This is a revenge story that's only the fucking beginning.

One of the assistants walks into my dressing room. “Are you ready for your big day? You look beautiful, my lady.” She smiles and walks over to me. “Our God has finally found our Goddess, treasure this moment. You will be blessed at the ritual the moment after you are husband and wife.”

A ritual? Oh fuck.

I nod, biting my lip to hold back a sarcastic comment as I can't die. “Ah, yes. I want to impress my husband, but I'm kinda nervous, this is my first ritual. What happens in this ritual?”

She giggles like I said something stupid.

“You will have intercourse in front of the whole cult, breeding until you are with child.” She smirks, but she continues, “You will have to provide an heir for the new generation of the cult to continue the bloodline.”

“That's perfect, I hope to ride him to death.” I awkwardly laugh, but she takes my hand to walk with me to the ceremony.

As we get there, people sit in the chapel, but no one I knew was there to save me. There was no Rylie, no Mister Caveman. Although I'm fucking manifesting.

Dorian looks at me with a dark, predatory stare, warning me to not fuck this up. I take a deep breath as someone hands me a bouquet of pink peonies. Then Dorian nods for the music to play, and as soon as the music starts to play, my chest tightens.

There's no one to walk me down the aisle, so I go by myself. All eyes staring at me, each step makes me want to claw at my skin. I just need this over and done with. I pass my flowers to the bridesmaid and walk towards Dorian.

“You look beautiful, Corvina, my wife to be, but if you fuck this up, I will find your family and slaughter them in front of you.” Dorian has a bittersweet tone; his voice deepened.

I smile back at him, showing him I'm not fucking weak.

“If you go near my family, I will make your death look like your first wife's suicide.” I bite my tongue before I say anything else as the vicar starts the ceremony.

“We are gathered here today to celebrate the marriage of Dorian Hunter and Corvina Whitmore. If anyone has any objection, please speak up before we continue the ceremony.” The vicar looks around the room for anyone to speak up.

My eyes tear up. Someone fucking save me.

“Me, bitch, that's my fucking woman.”

Everyone gasps and looks to find Riley arms crossed. She walks down with confidence.

“Didn't invite your own daughter to your wedding, Daddy Dearest? I'm so fucking hurt.” The sarcasm is pouring out of her. I cannot help but smile.

Dorian looks pissed, even though she is right. Why wasn't she invited to the wedding?

“Go back to your cabin, Riley. This has nothing to do with you.” Dorian changes the subject to hurry the ceremony, the vicar slowly nods, he is scared.

Riley laughs, “I'm not calling the woman I have feelings for Mommy. When you killed my mum and all the other females that were your wives, so you could have an heir. Now Corvina is your next victim, then what? Kill her off after? Dad, why are you doing this?”

Dorian licks his bottom lip before answering.

“Your mother and I had a toxic relationship; she didn't like how I was raising you. She wanted you to be a girly girl, a fucking princess. You have a devil in you, Riley. She was in the way. You are my little monster, my assassin, and you don't understand how much power you have.”

I find it hard not to run and hug Riley and tell her she's not a monster; she is someone that wants to be loved.

She wanted a parent, not a boss, and a strict religious background.

She needs to heal from this, but this is the moment she realises her mum wanted to help her, and the true manipulator and gaslighter was her dad.

Her heart breaks, the little girl in her is screaming to come out.

“You know what, Dad, one thing you taught me as a child. Death is a beautiful thing, blood is the paint God gives you, and weapons are the thing that gives you strength. You said you take down the monsters that give you the most pain, you survive by pain.” Her tears fall down her face, but she continues, “You gave mum the worst pain.

You hurt me by taking her away and saying she was taking me away, when you were the one teaching me women are the most toxic creatures on earth.

Corvina showed me a new light. I don't know what I feel about her, but I know it's deeper than what I have ever experienced before.

I don't know if this is love or just something that's going to end in a few months, weeks, or minutes. She is the oxygen I have craved when I have been suffering in the dark. If she dies today, I will die with her.” She sobs, but Dorian huffs a breath.

“Guards, take my filthy whore of a daughter and lock her up. I'll deal with her later.” Dorian shouts out to his men. I can't let him do this or get away with this. I look around for something as guards are about to grab Riley and take her away.

I look to find a crucifix the vicar is holding, I quickly take it and ram it into Dorian's eye.

I rugby tackle him onto the floor, plunging the crucifix into the other eye socket.

“Die, motherfucker.” I take the knife that I stole from the dressing room and flick it open and stabbing him in the centre of the neck.

I watch the blood sprays everywhere, including on the dress, and to be honest, it's still a hateful dress.

I spit on the face of the man that ruined his daughter before I run for her.

By the time I get outside of the chapel, she is gone.
