Chapter 10 ~ Minho #2
“Because no matter how badly I might want you, Minho,” he pauses, swallowing as if the next words are going to hurt–who? I don’t know. “I can’t hurt your dad like this, not after your—”
I place a finger over his lips. I don't need him comparing this to my mom leaving my dad without saying a word.
“Rafe?”
He blinks but holds my gaze as I take his chin into my hand and guide him to look at me. “Yes?”
I make bad decisions for fun, I swear. Before I can rethink it, I loop his chain around my finger and almost close the gap between us when I pull him in closer. “This is the last time I will kiss you, I promise.”
“You’re such a terrible liar.”
I smirk. “Maybe, but can you blame me?”
“No, I can’t,” he breathes against my lips. “I’m a fucking addict for your touch, you starve me for your attention, your smile—everything about you is a high I never want to come down from, and I want so badly to give you everything.”
“Then give in.”
I know he wants to do right by my dad, but fucking Colton Walker isn’t involved in my life right now, and it's not like I am looking for something serious with Rafe. I am not ready to be that vulnerable with anyone.
Not even for Rafe sweet-talking Kincaid.
“You know I can’t, baby.” The way he says that...I swear I am puddy in his arms as his hands roam the globes of my ass and squeeze, making me grind my cock against his.
I lean into him more until my mouth is on his neck, and when our chests press together and I have a better angle, I grind into him harder, making him growl and fuck. The sound is so feral it goes straight to my balls.
“Please,” I beg.
“What do you want, Minho?”
I know what I fucking want.
The space between us nearly disappears when the bell above the front door chimes, and Rafe shoots up to his feet, making me stumble away from him as Nyla walks in with a tray of coffee.
“Well, I’ll be damned,” she gasps, looking between us like she caught us in the act, but nothing happened. “You two were about to fuck.”
No, we weren’t.
Or were we?
Rafe clears his throat, backing away from me. I take note of panic in his eyes before he diverts his gaze from me when I glance in his direction. “I was actually just leaving.”
“What about you–”
“I’ll reschedule with Ollie.”
I walk over to my best friend and guide her out before I can stop to think about what the fuck I almost allowed to happen.
What the fuck is wrong with me?
When we leave the shop and take a few steps down the sidewalk, neither of us says anything, and I know without looking in her direction that Nyla is looking at me.
“So—” she pauses, giving me the space and time to fill in the blanks, but I don't know where to begin. “How long has that been going on?”
“We’ve never done anything other than kissing,” I confess, and I realise she is the first person I have ever told. “But that was a long time ago, I haven’t—we haven’t done anything since last year.”
“Do you want to talk about it?”
“No.”
I appreciate her offer, but I need to scrub the look of fear on Rafe’s face from my mind before it consumes me in a spiral.
Not looking to seek attention, my ass.
What was I thinking for real?
I wasn’t thinking; that’s the problem, and it could have cost me a lot if it wasn’t Nyla who walked through that door.
“What were you doing there?” I ask her after a while.
She gives me a look as if I am supposed to know the answer to my own question. “You invited me, remember? We spoke about this appointment for weeks.”
Shit.
“I forgot.”
Nyla laughs. “Clearly, but it's okay; I forgive you, seeing as you almost gave me an eyeful of live porn.”
I groan. “Please never bring this up.”
“Nice try, but I am adding this to the list.”
The list she speaks of is her list of all the idiotic things we have done since graduating high school. She loves bringing these stories up whenever we go out—especially if it is karaoke night.
I will never understand her.
But one thing is for sure. I need to distance myself from Rafe and find a way to do the same for Bellamy because the two of them are doing things to my brain, and I don't know how much more teasing from my tormentor I can take.
At the same time, Rafe is just an echo in the back of my mind that keeps getting louder now that I am back and very much single.
“I think I am in deep shit.”
Nyla barks out a fit of laughter. “If two guys clearly wanting to fuck you is you in deep shit, I wish I were you, babe.”
I hate her.
But her saying that just solidifies one thing. I need to get back at Bellamy for his scheming before I distance myself from him for good, and I am going to make him wish he had never met me once I am done.
“You have that look in your eyes.” Nyla visibly shudders before taking a sip of her coffee and handing me one. “The one you get when you are about to wreak havoc, and it is fucking scary.”
I chuckle. “Just be happy you aren’t my target.”
“I’d hate to be whoever fucked with you, Jesus.” Nyla shakes her head, and we both know who pissed me off—it’s always the same damned person.
My own personal Lucifer.
Bellamy Maddox.
He’s always been my target, and I won’t miss.
Not this time.
