Chapter 34
“Mmm… all mine. Finally.” Saul nuzzled his lips against Sadie’s neck and pulled her tight against him.
While he’d brought Sadie back to Elysium, he’d been summoned by the agency Devin worked for and had to leave straight away for a debrief, and to ensure all the evidence against him, and potentially Devin, really was destroyed.
“How long can you stay?” Sadie asked breathlessly, as his hands went to her shirt, and he stripped it expertly over her head.
“How does forever sound?” Saul found her lips again and drank deeply. He couldn’t get enough of this woman.
Sadie pushed at his shoulders and he felt a twinge where the skin was still a little tight over the wound that was now almost fully healed.
“Saul! Don’t tease,” Sadie growled adorably, nipping at his good shoulder and sending a spear of desire shooting through him.
He pressed his erection against her belly. “Oh, I’m not teasing, sweetheart. I quit. I am now nothing more than an official beach bum.”
Sadie gasped, her eyes widening in disbelief. "You... you quit? But your work, your mission..."
Saul cupped her face tenderly, his intense gaze holding hers. "You are my mission now, Sadie. My work, my purpose, my everything."
“Really?” she asked, and he could see the uncertainty in her cornflower blue eyes. He was prepared to spend his lifetime making sure that was erased.
“Really,” he confirmed, pressing brief butterfly kisses to her lips. “I was already feeling the discontent. This recent ambush on my life just hammered home the dangers and the certainty that I want to have the chance to live my future.”
He stared deeply into her eyes, willing her to believe him. “And I want that future to be with you.”
His words sent a shiver through her body, but it was the absolute trust in her eyes that ignited the fire deep within him. Saul crushed his lips to hers, pouring all his pent-up desire and newfound hope into the kiss. Sadie responded with equal fervor, as his hands roamed her body possessively.
They stumbled towards the bed, shedding clothes along the way. Saul lowered Sadie onto the mattress, his muscular form covering hers. He trailed kisses down her neck, across her collarbone, pausing to lavish attention on her breasts.
Until now, most of their interactions had been planned. Specific kink scenes, which, while explosive and absolutely satisfying, lacked the wild rawness of spontaneity.
Right now, Saul just wanted to make love to the woman who he hoped would become his wife. His future. His everything.
Sadie arched into him, desperate for more. "Please, Saul," she whimpered.
He looked up at her, eyes dark with lust. "Tell me what you want, sweetheart."
"You," she breathed. "All of you. Forever."
Saul groaned, his heart leaping to hear she was on the same page. Sex had always been a transaction for Sadie. One that came with a long list of instructions and a huge amount of pain, upon which she insisted.
That she could accept him as simply a lover was a massive step for her. One Saul was determined to cherish.
Her breathy plea ignited his already burning desire. He trailed his fingers down her body, reveling in the softness of her skin, the way she shivered beneath his touch. When he reached the apex of her thighs, he found her already slick with need.
"God, Sadie," he murmured against her neck. "You're so wet for me."
She bucked her hips, seeking more friction. "Only for you, Saul. Always for you."
He slipped two fingers inside her, curling them just so, and was rewarded with a sharp gasp of pleasure. He set a steady rhythm, his thumb circling her clit as he worked her towards her peak. Sadie's hands clutched at his shoulders, her nails digging into his skin as she writhed beneath him.
"That's it, sweetheart," he encouraged, his voice rough with need. "Let go for me. I've got you. I always will, for everything you ever need."
Sadie's body tensed, her back arching off the bed as her orgasm washed over her. Saul watched in awe as she came undone, her face flushed and beautiful in ecstasy. As the waves of pleasure subsided, she pulled him down for a deep, passionate kiss.
"I need you inside me," she whispered against his lips. "Please, Saul."
He didn't need to be asked twice. Positioning himself at her entrance, he slowly pushed inside, savoring the exquisite feeling of her warmth enveloping him. They both groaned at the sensation of finally being joined so intimately.
"You feel incredible," Saul murmured, pressing his forehead against hers as he began to move. "So perfect."
She laughed at that. “I am so far from perfect, Saul.”
“Perfect for me,” he countered, kissing the tip of her nose.
This was new to both of them, this easy, light-hearted lovemaking.
But still, passion inevitably took over. Sadie wrapped her legs around his waist, urging him deeper. Their bodies moved together in a sensual dance, each thrust bringing them closer to the edge. Saul's hands roamed her body, caressing and teasing as he drove her wild with pleasure.
"Saul," Sadie gasped, her nails raking down his back. "I'm close. So close."
He increased his pace, driving into her with renewed vigor. "Come for me, sweetheart," he growled, his voice husky with desire. "Let me feel you all around me.”
Sadie's body tensed, her inner walls clenching and milking him as she cried out in ecstasy. The sight and feel of her climax pushed Saul over the edge, and he buried himself deep as he found his own release.
They lay tangled together, breathing heavily as they came down from their shared high. Saul peppered soft kisses along Sadie's shoulder and neck, savoring the taste of her skin.
"I love you," he murmured against her ear. "More than I ever thought possible."
Sadie turned in his arms, her eyes shining with unshed tears. "I love you too," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "I never thought I'd be able to say those words and mean them, but with you... it's different. You make me feel safe, cherished."
Saul's heart swelled at her words. He knew how much it meant for Sadie to open herself up like this, to trust him so completely. "You are cherished," he assured her, brushing a tender kiss against her forehead. "And I promise to spend every day showing you just how much."
Sadie snuggled closer, resting her head on his chest. "So, what does this mean for us now? You've resigned, but what about your life back on the mainland?"
Saul ran his fingers through her silky hair, considering. "Well, I still have my business interests to manage, but I can do most of that remotely since I have a business manager who does most of that for me. I just oversee it, really. But your job is here, so…”
Sadie propped herself up on an elbow, looking at him with a mix of surprise and hope. "You'd stay here with me? What about all those galas and balls, and all that society stuff you do?"
Saul chuckled, his fingers tracing lazy patterns on Sadie's bare skin.
"Sweetheart, I'd happily give up all the glitz and glamour to be with you.
Those events were mostly for show anyway, part of maintaining my cover.
" He pressed a soft kiss to her lips. "Besides, I think I prefer the dress code here on Elysium. "
Sadie giggled, a sound that made Saul's heart soar. It was a far cry from the broken woman he'd first encountered, and he vowed to hear that laugh as often as possible.
"So, you're really staying?" she asked, her voice tinged with wonder.
"I'm really staying," he confirmed, feeling the love explode inside him at her acceptance.
Sadie's eyes lit up at the prospect. "That sounds wonderful. But are you sure you won’t resent being tied to such a remote private island? I know you’re loaded, but I can't just abandon my position here."
Saul tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, his touch gentle. "I wouldn't dream of asking you to give up your work, sweetheart. You fought against the odds to build something incredible with your life, and I'm so proud of you."
He cupped her cheek, his thumb tracing along her cheekbone.
"But sweetheart, I'd move to the moon if that's what you wanted. My home is wherever you are. But I hope, now you’ve overcome your fear of leaving the island, that maybe we can travel when you have your week off.
I want to show you the world and all the wonders in it. "
Tears welled in Sadie's eyes, and she leaned in to kiss him softly. “That sounds perfect.” As she pulled back from the kiss, her heart swelled with love for Saul. She was overwhelmed by his unwavering support and understanding.
Looking into his eyes, she at last saw a future filled with adventure and love, a future where they explored the world together, hand in hand.
A future she never thought she’d have, but one she embraced wholeheartedly.
Saul was right. She’d taken the first steps, but it was time to move on from her past and stop letting it define her.
She’d tried her best to do that, and had come a long way, but she’d always been hampered by her fear.
Saul had taken her hand, both metaphorically and physically, and supported her while she made that final terrifying jump.
With him by her side, she knew he’d lead her away from everything that had gone before, and towards a future filled with promise.
Knowing her heart was in her eyes, she smiled. "I love you, Saul. Thank you for believing in me and for wanting to share this journey with me. I can't wait to see the world with you by my side."
Saul's face lit up with joy, and she could see his own love for her shining through his expression as he pulled her into his arms, making a silent promise to always be there for her, no matter where life took them.
She knew he would be.
And as they lay there, wrapped up in each other, the sun began to set on the horizon, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange, a beautiful backdrop to the beginning of their new adventures together.
And Sadie believed, truly believed, Saul was hers.
The international playboy was definitely off the market.
