Chapter Sixteen

Talia

I wake to gentle kisses peppering my face, and I can’t help but smile before I even open my eyes. “Mmm,” I say. “Morning.”

“Good morning, Bunny,” he says, softly kissing my lips. He trails his kisses down my neck, and I sigh as I tilt my head to give him access to bite down. Instead, his kisses move down to my collarbone before he slowly pulls my shirt up.

“Fuck,” I groan when he wraps his lips around my nipple and sucks. Moving to the other breast, he does it again. He kneads and squeezes them before continuing to kiss down my belly to my pussy. I spread my thighs, and he settles between them.

“Such a pretty pussy,” he murmurs, gently kissing around my pussy, teasing me. One lick across my clit, and I melt.

“Oh, please,” I moan, lifting my hips. He does it again, and I moan. “Please make me come, Soren. Please.”

My eyes roll back when he starts lightly sucking on my clit, nipping and biting me while he flicks his tongue across it. I grab hold of his head and rock my hips, grinding my pussy on his mouth. I am quickly moaning and begging for more, and God, does he provide.

He slowly and gently licks my pussy, making me writhe with pleasure. When I finally come, it’s blinding, and it feels never-ending.

“F-Fuck,” I gasp when he moves up and kisses me again.

“You’re so pretty when you beg to come,” he remarks.

“You are… really fucking good at that,” I say breathlessly. “I’m going to need you to wake me up like that every morning.”

“Deal,” he says with a smile, kissing me again. He goes to get up, and I grab his hand and pull him back. “What?”

“If you think you can get away without fucking me, you are sadly mistaken, Soren.”

“Is that right?” he asks with a smirk, but he looks shocked.

“Fuck me, Soren,” I say. “I want you inside of me… right now.”

He groans as he moves between my thighs and kisses me. I think he might start slow, but no. In fact, when he slams into my pussy, I think I see heaven for a second. “Fuck,” he growls. “I can’t be easy with you.”

“I don’t want easy,” I gasp. “I want you. The real you.”

Soren hooks my legs over his arms and starts savagely pounding into my pussy, making me scream through orgasms so intense that I can hardly breathe.

This moment isn’t about feeding or giving into the bond.

I want this. He wants this. We are choosing us above all the obstacles surrounding us.

Despite how much we shouldn’t want this, we do.

God, I want it more than I’ve ever wanted anything.

I am dazed, but clinging to him by the time he comes with a feral growl, his hips jerking as he fucks his come deeper. He doesn’t move for a while as I catch my breath. When he lifts his head from my chest, he smiles. “You are incredible, Talia.”

“So are you,” I smile. “But we should talk…” I say.

“Yeah,” he sighs as we sit up. “Look…”

“I want to hate you,” I say, and he stops talking to listen.

“I tried so fucking hard to hate you, but I can’t.

Not when we both know you care. Not when you have shown up for me more than anyone in my entire life.

You have gone out of your way to hurt me and try to push me away, but you hold my hair when I puke, you snuggle me at night, and you show up.

Over and over, you show up. When I get to see a glimpse of the real you, the man behind the monster mask you put on, I see someone who has spent lifetimes being let down and broken over and over again.

I doubt you chose this life for yourself, and you’ve probably lost several mates, so no wonder you are a fucking asshole. ”

“Gee, thanks,” he mutters with a smile.

“But you know what, Soren?”

“Hmm?”

“Even when you are a monster, you are my monster,” I tell him. “So push me away all you want, but I am choosing you the way you chose me.”

“Sweetheart,” he sighs. “I cheated over and over, trying to prove to myself that I didn’t need you. I caused you real pain. That’s unforgivable.”

“It’s forgivable, not forgettable. I am not so dense that I cannot see how much shit you have endured,” I say.

“You will absolutely make up for it, and I expect you to prove to me that you will never hurt me again, but this isn’t a normal relationship, is it?

Why hold it to the same standards when we are bonded?

Let’s face it, Soren. We need each other, so we are better off playing on the same team than fighting. ”

“You’re right,” he says. “I will make up for what I’ve done. I’m not perfect, and I will inevitably fuck up, but I will try.”

“That’s all I’m asking for.”

“Does this mean you’ll stop shooting me?” he asks with a grin.

“Yes,” I laugh. “I shouldn’t have done that. I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay,” he says, gently kissing me. “It was kinda hot.”

“Just kinda?” I ask, grinning.

“Wanna know what else I thought was hot?”

“Hmm?”

“Watching you get all possessive and putting a gun to Shelby’s head,” he muses. “That was hot as fuck.”

“I’m glad you enjoyed that,” I say with a laugh.

“Let’s go downstairs so they can see that you’re okay,” he says.

We get up, and I put on a light blue sundress before we go downstairs. When we step into the kitchen, all the guys whip around to look at me. “Hey,” Vaughn says. “How do you feel?”

“Weirdly normal,” I laugh.

“Micah made lunch,” Diego says, pulling out a chair at the island. “Sit.”

“Any reason you fuckers are spoiling my mate with attention?”

“Do I not deserve it?” I ask him. His mouth opens and then shuts, making me laugh. “Relax, Soren. They’re like brothers. Loud and annoying brothers.”

“That’s the damn truth,” Soren chuckles.

“So,” Micah says slowly. “Hate to bring the mood down, but we should discuss yesterday.”

“Yeah,” Soren sighs.

“It was Greg, if you were wondering,” I say. “He’s the guard who was with me when I was taken to Ben. He left me there, and I went up to the room with Ben.”

“I bet he got bitched out for that by Henry,” Soren says.

“When he was hitting me… I very clearly remember him referring to you as a vampire,” I say carefully. “Greg knows.”

“If he does, then Henry does,” Caine points out.

“Fuck. Okay,” Soren says. “We can’t just slaughter an entire trafficking ring, so we need to focus on the immediate issue. Did he say anything else?”

“In a nutshell, he said if he can’t kill you, he will hurt you through me,” I say. “So I guess I am your weakness?”

“You are,” Soren admits. “I knew the moment you were hurting. You can feel the same.”

“What happens if I die?” I ask. “What happens to you?”

“A lot of hybrids refuse to feed and end up in a coma of sorts. It requires help feeding at that point.”

“But if no one does?” I ask.

“Then it debilitates him,” Micah answers. “They are planning to take Soren out by hurting you.”

“At least Greg is,” Soren says.

“So why not meet Henry in public where he can’t do anything.

Tell him it’s his entire operation, or Greg.

He will absolutely sacrifice him,” I say.

“Then we take care of Greg. Because let’s face it, Henry wouldn’t have been so brazen with trying to kill me.

I bet he doesn’t even know Greg did that. ”

“It could work,” Micah says. “If we all go, she will be fine.”

“Henry won’t do anything to affect his image or his business,” I say.

“Let’s do it,” Soren says. “But first, I want you to eat lunch.”
