Chapter 34 #3

I kissed her again. By the time we reached the bedroom, there was nothing frantic about what happened between us.

No need to prove survival or outrun grief.

I undressed her slowly enough to check every time my hands came near the bruising at her shoulder, and she complained exactly twice before realizing I wasn't going to stop being careful simply because she found caution insulting.

In return, she took her time with me in ways that had nothing to do with urgency and everything to do with knowing she had my full attention.

Every touch carried the quiet certainty of the conversation outside: this wasn't a goodbye disguised as desire, and neither of us was pretending morning would require us to explain why we'd made the choice.

At one point I stopped with my forehead against hers.

"Tell me if anything hurts."

"You're asking?"

"Aye." Her expression softened.

"Nothing hurts."

"Sure?" She kissed me.

"I'm choosing this."

The words echoed the first time. Only tonight they meant more.

This time when I touched her, I slid my hands slowly against her skin.

My mouth made her squirm as she gasped as her clothes were slowly removed.

I stood next to the bed and slowly removed my own clothes.

Skye slid against the sheet until she sat in front of me.

My cock grew as hard as rock as I watched her tongue run across her lips again, teasing me.

I growled deep in my throat without intending to.

She didn’t touch me, instead leaning forward and using her tongue against the slit in the head of my cock, collecting the moisture weeping from the tip. She moaned deep before her tongue came out further and slid along the underside tracing the veins slowly.

“Fuck Skye. I can’t take much more of that baby.”

I should have known better when I saw her mischievous as hell grin as she looked up at me.

Her mouth closed around my cock as she took me into her mouth and I felt myself slide all the way back until I hit her throat.

Her mouth was hot wet, and my cock wanted to stay there forever.

I was almost inclined to let it but I knew, as good as her mouth felt as she began to suck me deep and bob her head up and down on my length, I would miss her tight pussy too much.

I wrapped her hair around my fist and gently guided her farther down on my length, watching her eyes tear up.

She stared into my eyes and took everything I gave her until I felt myself close to the edge.

Pulling back quickly I grabbed her waist and flipped her over.

“Hands and knees now.” She did as I said and then looked back at me.

The smirk on her face said it all. She was getting exactly what she wanted, what we both wanted.

As I slid into her I groaned deep at the feel of her and then she squeezed me tight on purpose.

Looking down I let my hand come down on her ass.

Her right ass cheek bloomed red but instead of gasping she moaned and I smiled.

“You like that baby?” My hand came down on the other side and she moaned again.

I slowly moved from one cheek to the other until she was gasping and begging me.

I finally gave in and gave her the mercy she needed and began to fuck her in earnest. This wasn’t soft and gentle. Instead it was hot and full of fire. It consumed us both until we screamed our pleasure, me following her over the edge.

Much later, Skye slept against my chest while the farmhouse settled around us, the sheets tangled at our legs and the window cracked just enough to let cool air into the room.

I stayed awake longer than she did, not because I was waiting for fear to arrive but because I wanted to remember the feeling of lying there without any instinct telling me to leave before dawn.

The future remained complicated. Harrow was still free.

Vale was still somewhere beyond Cipher's reach.

The Order was wounded, not destroyed. Skye had a business in Scotland.

I had a club in Carolina. Ireland sat between both lives carrying a house I had finally decided to keep.

None of those facts disappeared because we'd chosen each other. For once, they didn't need to.

I looked down at Skye sleeping against me and understood that commitment wasn't knowing exactly how every mile between two people would be crossed.

It wasn't demanding certainty before allowing yourself to want something.

It was deciding the distance was worth crossing.

My arm tightened around her. Tomorrow would bring evidence, flights, plans, and whatever the Order did next.

Tonight I stayed exactly where I was, in the room where Rory O'Brien had once believed his life would begin, beside the woman who had somehow taught Callum to stop running and Irish to ask for help.

For the first time, those men no longer felt like separate lives.

They all wanted the same future. And she was sleeping in my arms.
