Wrenly

It was unbelievable how Travis, the most handsome boy I ever knew, ran off and struck up friendships with other handsome men. Handsome didn’t actually give any of them justice. Even Axton, the prick, was hot. Steaming hot, and then there was . I was bias with Travis, the man was holy hotness from head to toe, but so was . His intense gray eyes and his muscular body was one thing, but that smile was worth a billion bucks. Although Travis was sexier in my opinion, I knew the girls at the bar tonight were going to go insane.

It felt like forever as we waited for Travis.

I was laughing so hard I had to wipe a tear away. “No way, he did not.”

“He was so traumatized about the family reunion on his dad’s side, he forgot to ask about his mom’s family. He hasn’t left his place in two days.”

Patrick was also adorable, but a little dumb. “I bet Morgan is having the time of her life with it.”

Patrick went out of town to Texas and went to pick up a girl in a bar. She agreed and he went home with her, but found a piece of mail with her name on it. Her last name was the same as his mother’s maiden name. He ran from the house and all the way back to the hotel where he called his mommy to ask a very serious question, only to figure out the last name was spelled different, and they weren’t related. It was like ten miles back to the hotel.

“It’s Morgan’s fault. Come on, let’s be real. He was on the completely other side of the state park and saw a cute girl. It could have happened to anyone.” said.

“That’s not the point, . She walked him back to his own family reunion and he still didn’t figure it out. Then proceeded to finger her in the ladies bathroom. Not in a stall with a door, but the open shower.”

He shrugged. “He was zoned in on the girl and not paying attention. He was a horny and curious kid. Morgan has brought up all those old traumatized feelings and the entire family shamed him. What about the girl? Nobody blames her and she knew who he was the whole time.”

“If he’s been hiding, then Morgan hasn’t had her fun yet, right?”

He rolled his eyes. “She’s such a bitch sometimes.” He shook his head. “He left the community one time and that was to have dinner with the family. She paid one of her cousins five grand to join them for dinner and flirt with Patrick. He was so uncomfortable, and her fucking family played along just for a laugh. Fucking Tanner even encouraged him to ask her out. I swear I think she gave her dad a few grand to do it too. It was a mess. Their cousin got enough money for a down-payment on a new car then her great grandpa tried to get the cousin to go on a date with him. That wasn’t scripted, so of course Patrick left in tears.”

I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants.

“Oh, but that’s not the only drama that happened since you guys left. Weston walked upstairs at Creed’s place because Morgan told him to grab her sewing kit to fix his shirt. Addie jumped out of her room in her flying monkey costume and Weston was so scared he fell backward off the top of the steps. He broke his tailbone, fractured his shoulder and bumped his head like twenty times and had a concussion. Addie ruined her costume because it’s not washable and she laughed so hard she pissed herself, and Creed lost his shit. He said to fuck Bolton and her gentle parenting bullshit, so Addie got grounded from K-9 training for a month. Addie refuses to speak to him, and of course she’s pissed at Drakos too, because somehow she figured out that he put the baby in Melissa. She doesn’t know how, but it was pretty damn suspicious to her that these men keep making the women fat. I’m kind of annoyed with it too.” He said.

“Poor Weston.” That boy engaged in a power struggle with Addie one too many times.

“Oh, and let’s not forget the proposal of a lifetime. Drakos proposed to Melissa.” He cleared his throat. “In the most fucked up way possible. The dumbass wanted to propose where they met. The night they met he was getting a blow job from Macy in Club X, and he forgot. So, the dumbass thought the first time they met was sitting at the bar before the club turned dark. The dumb fuck took her to Club X, got down on one knee then dropped the ring. I saw the entire thing. Melissa was already pissed when he said he wanted to bring her back to the special night they met, but then he drops the ring and guess who picks it up?”

I gasped. “No way!”

“Yep, Macy the dumb fake blond tried to slip it on Melissa’s finger!”

“Holy shit!” My eyes had to be as big as saucers.

“Melissa threw the ring at Macy and told her to wear it, then kicked Drakos in the nuts and left him lying there in a ball on the floor. Drakos went crawling after her with tears in his eyes. I guess things turned out because she’s wearing the ring and he’s happier than ever.” He shut his eyes for a second. “Most fucked up relationship I’ve ever seen. I bet it’ll be the most fucked up divorce as well. The proposal won’t be the last time he fucks up. The guy is one hell of an operative, but take off the fatigues and he’s a fucking idiot.”

He looked up at the house. “Here he comes.”

Travis opened the car door and slipped inside. “Well?” I asked.

He threw it in reverse. “I feel sick, but she agreed with a fuck ton of stipulations.” He did look a little greenish gray.

“What’s wrong?”

He looked like he was about to explode and didn’t answer me. He stepped on the gas and flew down the road then pulled over and jumped out. I could hear him puking from inside the car. “What the fuck?”

looked behind us. “Yep, he’s blowing some chunks.” He turned back around and looked at me. “What?”

“I know he’s getting sick, but why? What’s wrong?”

groaned. “With the way things are going back at Creed’s Lake, I’d say there’s a chance you knocked him up, Carlson. And that wouldn’t be the most fucked up thing I saw this week.”

I burst into laughter and couldn’t help it. He might have been serious.

Travis got back in and still looked terrible. “I need to get a drink, please don’t ask me to speak.”

“Want me to drive?” I offered.

“No, just don’t ask me any questions yet.” He threw it into drive then pulled over at the gas station and hopped out before he had it all the way in park. When he came back he had a soda and put the Tahoe in reverse. “Call your dad and ask him to meet us at his house. I need a shower now. Please tell me I still have clothes there. I can’t wait until I get to the hotel.”

“Yeah, but just a pair of jeans and a shirt. I left them in case we had to stay the night for some reason or another. I left some for me too.” The plan was to eventually go back to dad’s and stay.

“Thank God.” He said.

When we got to dad’s, Travis went flying into the house. and I both scrunched our nose, Travis smelled really bad.

“He smells like death.” said.

“Yeah, I recognized it too.” I took off my seatbelt then saw my dad standing at the door looking very confused.

Twenty five minutes later, after I introduced to dad, Travis walked downstairs and had his clothes in a plastic bag. He took them outside and I presume he put them out in the trash. He still didn’t look well, but went straight for the fridge to get a beer and we hadn’t even had lunch yet. All three of us, especially my dad, were clueless.

“Are you feeling better?” I asked as Travis took a seat at the table with us.

“I don’t think she showered for a very long time. She had sores and they had to be abscesses. All I can think of is maybe its caused by her immune system and not taking care of herself. Like, maybe she had…I don’t know, but that’s not all aids patients. She was something different. She asked me to come upstairs to show me what she needed to take with her, and I took one step in that room and needed to hurl. She’s depressed, I’m not sure she changes her clothes after shitting herself. I’m also thinking bed sores maybe, I don’t know but it was like there was this…” He paused and swallowed. “Oil in the air that stuck to me. Brock told me he has to force her into a shower. There’s no way we could possibly fly that woman to Indiana or take anything from that bedroom to that apartment. She is going to need new everything. The downstairs wasn’t bad, but the upstairs was unbelievable. Tricia is going to have one hell of a mess on her hands.”

My dad stared at Travis. “What the hell are you talking about?”

Travis shook his head. “Never mind anything you just heard, it’s private. We're here to talk about your fucked up situation.” Travis was cold toward him.

Dad crossed his arms over his chest. “Exactly what fucked up situation are you referring to, Travis?”

“Oh, I don’t know. Maybe everything we learned yesterday? You know as well as me that was not leverage she gave me. She knew I could never use that against her! She knew I’d protect you and Wrenly!” Travis was not in a great mood anymore. “I love your daughter so damn much, Clint. What hurts her kills me! She has suffered enough grief, she doesn’t deserve to grieve for you!”

spoke up. “This is emotional for you, Travis, and I get that, but how about getting yourself another beer and letting me talk with Clint?”

Travis pushed back in his chair, making a loud noise. “That’s why you’re here.” He stormed over to the fridge. Travis was disturbed by what he experienced at Emma’s, angry and scared for my father just like me, and his brain was probably at max capacity. He stormed out to the back patio, and I let him have a few minutes to calm down.

sat back and let my dad tell his story. It started with a dirty councilman, that was the first shake down. The man was having inappropriate relations with a teen girl. Dad filed the report the parents called him to file, had evidence to back it up, then it all disappeared. From then on, dad and Tony made copies of evidence as backup. It all grew from there, but then my mom brought me to dad’s and told him about the man that touched me. Then she disappeared with me and that man’s house was the first place they checked. They went all the way to Montana to find me. Not only did they find pictures of me in his house, but also other little girls. They got the run around by the local police in Montana, so they made that guy disappear, making it look like he took off out of town. They didn’t do it again for a few years, but eventually they all got sick of the monsters and the failure of the justice system and made a pact. Eventually the Dark Knights MC grew, and they even had their equivalent of the police Superintendent join. Even a few internal affairs agents. Then a few FBI and it just kept growing. If Travis would have just stayed inside and listened he would have gotten the bigger picture, but he was outside brooding. I had hopes could talk some sense into him. Especially since Creed and the others were hard at work back in Indiana working their magic. Creed and Travis came up with a plan to help my dad.
