Chapter 10 #3

She paused and placed a few cookies on my plate.

“No one goes hungry on our watch. Welcome to the family, Lena. And thank you for lighting up Ironside’s life again. I’ve never seen him this happy.”

I glanced across the room to where Ironside was seated with Pretty Boy and Psycho, trash talking each other until Ironside burst into hearty belly laughter.

I loved him so much that it seemed as if my heart would burst from it.

Then he caught my eye and crooked a finger in my direction, beckoning to me.

I felt like I had wings on my feet as I practically flew to him. Ironside rose from his seat and took my hand, leading me to a more private table in the corner. He settled into a chair and pulled me onto his lap.

“I have an engagement present for you,” he said.

I held up my hand and wiggled my finger, making my pink diamond wink in the light.

“You already gave me one, remember?”

He hummed.

“Are you saying that I can’t spoil my bride-to-be and shower her with gifts?”

A pleased blush warmed my face. I loved it when he called me his future wife or his future bride. It made me so giddy, so unbelievably happy that I got to marry this man and build a life together.

“Oh, well, I certainly can’t argue with that. You make an excellent point.”

“That’s better.” Ironside retrieved a box tucked away out of sight on a nearby chair and placed it on the table before me. It was about the size of a gourmet chocolate box, long and flat, slim, matte black with a silver ribbon. “Take a look, petal. Tell me what you think.”

Gently, I untied the beautiful sparkly ribbon and pried the lid open. Nestled into a bed of velvet was a set of dilators. But not like the sleek, plain, smooth dilators I had at home. These held a distinct shape.

A shape I knew very, very well.

I gasped and slammed the lid shut.

“Reuben,” I hissed.

He laughed at my scandalized expression.

“What? Come on, don’t be shy.”

He lifted the lid and gestured to the dilators.

“Since we’re still working on having sex, I thought it might help you loosen up if you had something special that turned you on. So, I had a custom set of dilators made.”

He lowered his voice, pressing his face into my neck. His hot breath ghosted against my ear, sending goosebumps rippling down my back.

“If you’re going to stretch yourself open, you might as well use a dilator that looks and feels as close to my cock as possible.”

I reached out and stroked one of the dilators. There were four of them, ranging in size from thin as a tube of lipstick, gradually working up to nearly Ironside’s size.

“By the time you master these,” he added. “You’ll be ready for the real thing.”

My face must have been flaming red. But it was exciting, too. And sexy. Far more sexy than those dilators that looked and felt so…clinical.

“If you had surprised me with these at home,” I said. “We could have tested them out right away. Now we have to wait.”

He chuckled and kissed my shoulder.

“I’m a patient man, petal.”

I pouted a little, picking up one of the dilators, testing the weight and feel of it in my hands.

“Well, I’m not patient. I’m tired of waiting to ride you until my legs give out.”

Ironside raised his eyebrows, shifting slightly beneath me. His eyes gleamed.

“You know damn well what it does to me when you talk dirty like that, Lena.”

I bit my lower lip, trying to contain my smile. I wiggled in his lap until he hissed and dug his fingers into my hips.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” I said with faux innocence. “Am I making you uncomfortable?”

“You’re making me fucking hard,” he grumbled playfully.

“That sounds terrible. Maybe we should go home so we can fix that.”

He rumbled a soft laugh of amusement, smoothing his hand over my hip. Before he could respond, Psycho shouted from across the room.

“Is that a dildo?”

I shoved the dilator back into the box and scrambled to put the lid in place. But it was too late. All eyes turned on us.

“Did you get one of those hyper realistic ones?” Lila asked. “They’re amazing.”

“I’m right here, honey,” Pretty Boy said in a flat voice. “I can hear every word you’re saying.”

Lila smirked at her husband, cocking her hip.

“Don’t pretend to be a sourpuss. You benefit from my toy collection just as much as I do.”

Psycho whipped his head around to stare at them.

“What kind of toys are we talking here, Prez?”

“None of your business.”

“Do you have a favorite?” Trooper prompted,

“I refuse to be part of this conversation,” Pretty Boy mumbled into his glass.

“Cuffs and a vibrator,” Lila declared, loud and clear. “On him. Pinned down, tied up, with the highest setting pressed to his—”

“Goddamn it, Lila.”

Pretty Boy lunged out of his seat. But Lila was too quick, darting away, laughing.

While the club was distracted by Pretty Boy and Lila, Ironside and I slipped out the back door. Climbing onto his bike, we rolled out of the parking lot. Clutching the box of dilators to my chest, my pink diamond sparkled in the sunlight.

I snuggled against Ironside’s back, turning my face into the wind, while the road carried us home.
