Amirya #2
“Girl, so Chauncey was messing with this Kori bitch that works at the abortion clinic, too.”
“Umm, huh.”
“Pull up; I’m finna change clothes.”
“I’m on the way.”
It took me another 30 minutes to get ready. I know Aisha is finna trip, but she will be alright. I deserve to be a little extra today. I didn’t want to put my shit on while True was still at the house because he would’ve been feeling some type of way, as he should.
Fuck being basic, I’m popping out on these hoes. As soon as True got the fuck on, I thumbed through my closet and picked out the flyest shit. I laid my clothes on my bed.
I brushed my teeth and applied my face serum. It’s cold as fuck this morning. I brushed my hair into a cute, messy bun; I have a hair appointment tomorrow. I painted my lips red, courtesy of Fenty.
I’m rocking a vintage Burberry shirt dress. It’s been a minute since I wore this, and it fits perfectly. I paired it with the matching Burberry Vintage 105 sock boots. I sprayed myself down with Valentino. I spun around a few times in the mirror before heading out.
It took me about 30 minutes to pick up Aisha. This troll was not fucking ready. I sat in the car for at least 10 minutes before I killed my engine and walked inside her fucking house. I banged on Aisha’s door like I was the fucking police. Aisha finally swung her goddamn door open.
“Amirya, don’t bang on my door like that. You see what kind of neighborhood I live in. Bitch, I don’t want my fellow Karens to get on yo ass.”
“I wish the fuck a Karen would. I thought you said you were going to be ready.”
“I am ready. I decided to make yo ass wait a little bit since it took you so long to get yo ass over here.”
Aisha looked me up and down.
“Damn troll, why are you staring at me?”
“Now I see why it took yo ass so fucking long to get over here.”
“Sister.”
“You could’ve given me the heads up that we were shitting on bitches today.”
“I thought you knew.”
“I could’ve sworn you said you hope you don’t have to beat any ass?”
“I did.”
“Oh, and I want my fucking boots back. You were talking so much shit about them, but you got them bitches on. Let me find out you played me, just to steal my shit.”
“Aisha, come on, you look fine.”
“Yes, you would say some shit like this, and you are rocking Burberry from head to toe. Let me find out, though. Let me grab my purse so we can roll.”
I walked back to my car. I checked my phone and found a few missed calls and texts from True. I will call his ass back later. Aisha finally brings her ass on; she tosses me her phone.
“What is this for?”
“It’s True, for you.” I rolled my eyes at Aisha.
Why in the hell is True calling her phone for me? Nigga I have never called Coop, Simmy, or Chauncey’s phone for him; it’s not that serious.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah?”
“What’s up, True?”
“So, you don’t see me calling your phone?”
“I left my phone in the car.”
“Did you see my missed calls?”
“True, chill.”
“I’m trying to see what the fuck you’re on. I thought we were good when I left the house.”
“True, chill, I didn’t answer my phone one fucking time. You see where the fuck I am, with my sister.”
“Amirya, step out of the car.”
I looked behind me, and it was True and Coop. I swear, this nigga is annoying as fuck today. Let me find out he’s trying to show off in front of Coop. Aisha looked at me and shook her head. I swear, Aisha and I should’ve never dated friends.
It’s one reason I’m second-guessing dealing with his ass. I ain’t got time for meaningless run-ins. I stepped out of the car and folded my arms across my chest. I refuse to look at True because all of this is uncalled for.
True steps close, closing the small gap between us.
He doesn’t touch me.
He just looks down at me.
“What are you on? Yeah, I popped up on yo ass?”
“I’m not on anything. I’m trying to swing by the abortion clinic to check out this bitch Chauncey was fucking with, as you asked me to. If the plan has changed, let me know, and I can find something else to do.”
“You’re as fresh as hell to be going to an abortion clinic; do you have plans afterward?”
“True, anytime I step outside, I’ll shit on any bitch, no matter the place.”
“I asked you a question: do you have plans afterward?”
“Let me check the itinerary to confirm my schedule. Don’t you have business to handle instead of fucking with me?”
“You’re showing out in front of Aisha.”
“I am not; you’re showing out in front of Coop. It’s like you’re trying to catch me doing something. Listen, True, in the five years we’ve been together, I’ve never cheated on you; however, you’ve stepped out on me a few times.
I forgave you all five times because I love you. There won’t be a sixth time. I’m not a cheater; any nigga I entertain is a guaranteed replacement, and there won’t be any coming back.”
“Are you threatening me?”
“I’m telling you. Are we done here? I’ve got shit to do. If you don’t need me to go to the abortion clinic, say so, and I can move around.”
“I’ll drive you. Tell Aisha she can sit this one out.”
“I’m good; I can drive myself. You can sit this one out. I know you’ve got shit to do in the streets.”
“I do, but the streets can wait.”
I rolled my eyes at True.
I swear this nigga is irky as fuck. I opened the passenger-side door.
“You good?”
“Not really. You don’t have to ride with me. As you can see, True will drive me.”
Had I known True was going to pull some shit like this, I wouldn’t have driven all the way over here.
True’s stupid ass started laughing. I wish I had something to throw at True’s ass. Aisha stepped out of the car.
“I guess that 69 this morning paid off.”
“Girl, fuck you. I’ll talk to you later.”
Aisha got in the car with Coop. True slid into the driver’s seat. Damn, I don’t want to be stuck with this nigga all day.
“Aye, are you that mad?”
“You act like this is a short-ass drive.”
“My bad. I didn’t mean to interrupt your day.”
I’m not even going to say anything to True because I know he didn’t mean what he just said. No words were exchanged between us as we backed out of Aisha and Coop’s driveway; True kept glancing at me.
It took True about 25 to 30 minutes to get to the abortion clinic. It looks busy, but not that busy. I might as well get this shit over with. I stepped out of my car and walked into the clinic. There are a lot of hoes in here today getting rid of their kids.
“Hi, may I help you?”
“Yes, I’m looking for Kori. Is she in today?”
“No, Kori is on personal leave; she’s been out for a few days. She won’t be back until next week. Is there anything I can help you with?”
“No, I’m good. I’ll come back next week.”
“What’s your name? I’ll tell her you came by.”
“Ashley, thanks.”
I walked back out to my car. True had his face buried in his phone. I opened the door and snatched his phone from his hand. He’s texting Coop, talking shit about me.
“Did you find what you were looking for?”
“I did. Kori’s not here; she’s out on personal leave for a few days.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“Did they say when she would be coming back?”
“Next week.”
“We need her before next week.”
“Yes, y’all do.”
“Are you hungry?”
“Yeah, I can eat.”
“Where do you want to go?”
“Surprise me.”
“Say less.”
I guess I can get over my feelings since True is trying, despite what happened last night. I looked out my window. I had so much shit on my mind. I could barely think with this nigga sitting next to me. True’s hand gripped my thighs. I looked at True to see what he wanted.
“I know you feel me looking at you.”
“I do. Why are you acting weird, True?”
“I love you, Amirya, and I don’t want to lose you. I feel like you’re trying to get away, and I’mma do whatever it takes to make yo ass stay. I ain’t that easy to get rid of.”
“Likewise.”
True knows he’s run out of chances with me. I’m not looking for a way out, but if he fucks up again, it’s a wrap. As long as he knows, I’m good.
