10. Rosama
Rosama
It had been some days, but I still ain’t had Nylah in my presence or in my whip. I didn’t like that she was dodging me. No matter how many messages, calls, or money I sent. She responded when she wanted. And ghosted me before I even had a chance to realize it.
I was tired of that shit.
“She got me fucked up,” I said, sitting in the trap, counting money.
“Still,” Dre said with no damn care, “I thought you would be ova her by now.”
I shook my head. “Hell nah, brah, I want her.”
“Nigga, the only thing you should want right now is more money and your wife to sign them papers.”
I laughed ‘cause he wasn’t wrong.
“Yeah, I should slide through and see if I can get her to sign them damn papers sooner. I don’t know what the fuck she waitin’ on.”
Dre laughed. “For you to come back home.”
“That shit ain’t happen,” I said, looking at my phone. “She would be waitin’ for hell to freeze ova. But fuck her, I need to go hit this lick.”
“Slide through and talk to her nice. You might get what you want from her before you get what you want from Nylah.”
I grabbed a pack and walked outta the kitchen, shaking my head. Once I got in my whip, I hit this nigga to see where I needed to meet him so he could get his pick, and he said Bronx.
I almost wanted to go back in the trap and tell Dre to handle shit. The Bronx wasn’t the area I wanted to be in, but I said fuck it. I didn’t want to hear him talk to me about what I needed to fix with my wife.
Before I pulled off, I rolled up, turned on my nigga Dave East, and hopped right in the middle of traffic.
After a while of cussing niggas out on the interstate, I finally got off and eased into the Bronx, my music still knocking.
I was thinking bout hitting Nylah, or sliding by her crib with some flowers or some shit, but I had to remind myself what Dre said.
“Hit the lick and go talk to crazy,” I said to myself, trying to stay focused.
I pulled up on the spot, and the nigga was already outside. He got in the car, we dapped, exchanged everything, then we were both on our way like we didn’t even know each otha.
Once I pulled off, the next thing I had to deal with took front and center in my mind.
My damn wife that I wanted to be my ex.
I didn’t even want to deal with that shit for real. She wasn’t trying to budge, and neither was I, but Dre was right. Maybe I needed to try to talk to her nice. I turned the wheel down this street with a bunch of different restaurants on each side, and I could believe my eyes.
I saw Nylah.
I laughed to myself, kinda feeling like God was playing with me.
She looked real good standing on the sidewalk. I thought she was waiting for her girl, but then I saw a nigga walk up to her, rest his hand on her waist, and they walked inside.
I wasted no time. I turned the wheel and parked quick. That shit with Mariah was going to wait.
I watched through the window. Her hourglass frame filled out the silk, light green dress that she had on. They were quickly greeted and led to a table. All eyes were on her as she walked through.
That’s how I wanted my shorty to be.
I hopped outta my whip and walked across the street and into the restaurant. The lady looked at me and tried to smile and greet me, but I walked straight past her before she could even open her mouth. As I walked up to their table, my eyes were locked on him, and Nylah’s back was toward me.
They were talking. I could hear her laughing, and then I stood on the side of the table. Nylah looked up at me, and the smile on her face quickly melted away.
“So, this is what we do?” I asked calmly.
She rolled her eyes. “Rosama, what are you doin’ here?”
“Is this your man?” the nigga asked.
“Nah, I'm not her man yet,” I said to him before looking back at her. “I was in your neighborhood and saw you come in here. I'm glad you okay ‘cause you been dodging a nigga like crazy.”
Nylah exhaled hard. “Rosama, I will hit you later. Don’t do this right now.”
“Yo,” the nigga she was sitting with said. “I don’t think she wants to see you right now.”
“Nigga…do it look like I give a fuck?”
He stood up. “But she is with me right now, so go ahead before I put you out of here.”
I looked at the clown nigga up and down.
“Nigga, I don’t give a fuck if she was with Obama. She is gonna give me her attention.”
The nigga tried to push up on me, and I was quick to reach for my Glock, but Nylah stepped in.
“Hey! Yo!” she said, standing up. “Chad, sit down,” she said to him. She grabbed my arm and pulled me.
I walked outside with her, and she crossed her hands ova her chest.
“What?” I asked, laughing.
“How the fuck are you gonna embarrass me like that?”
“I didn’t embarrass you,” I said with a smirk. “I didn’t pick the nigga you was sittin’ across from.”
She tried to hide her laugh, but it didn’t work.
“You are fuckin’ crazy—”
“And you keep dodging me. You see God is pullin’ us together, right? I had a drop in the X, and you just so happened to be out.”
She shook her head. “Nigga, what do you want from me?”
“A date, right now.”
Her eyes got wide. “Right now? It’s a nigga waitin’ on me.”
“I don’t give a fuck,” I said, reaching out my hand. “I'm not like you. I don’t give a fuck about the next. I want you.”
She looked around for a second like she was thinking bout it, then grabbed my hand and I led her to my whip. After I helped her in, I looked back at the nigga she was with, standing there looking mad, and got in.
“You are gonna have people mad at me,” she expressed.
I smirked. “As long as you're happy, I don’t care.”
I pulled off and took her to a steakhouse, not some hole-in-the-wall place like he had her at.
As we walked through that bitch with the dim lights and candles on the table, all eyes were still on her.
At our table, I ordered the drinks and the food and sent them on their way.
“Now that I got you,” I said as I leaned on the table, “tell me about you.”
I had Nylah blushing. I knew I would. I just needed to get her on my turf.
“What do you want to know about me?” she asked.
“Everything, ma. I told you I wanted you.”
Nylah talked about her family, her upbringing with her brothas, and how it was being the only girl.
She went into detail about her goals, how she didn’t want to be in just her friend's store, but to have her own boutique.
As she talked, I was in awe. She was smart, looked good, and had a good head on her shoulders. I wanted every part of her in my life. I just needed to know she was gonna vibe with it.
“Have you eva had a real nigga in your life?” I asked.
She laughed, but I wasn’t playing.
“I'm serious,” I said low. “Have you?”
She shrugged. “Every nigga say they are a real nigga. What makes you different?”
I was about to respond to her when Dre hit me to slide through the club. I looked at my phone, then back at her.
“You feel like ridin’ with me real quick?”
She laughed. “You took me from where I was, yeah, I’ma ride with you.”
I laughed, paid the bill, grabbed her hand, and led her out.
We ended up in Brooklyn at the club. I parked and helped her outta the car.
“I am not dressed for no club,” she joked.
I shook my head. “You look better than half the bitches inside.”
I grabbed her hand once again and led her across the street and up to the door. The security guard dapped me up, and we walked straight inside.
The club was jumping just like any otha night, but once I walked in, attention was on me. Niggas and bitches yelled out my name just for me to wave or lift my chin at them. I dapped a few niggas up as we walked to the VIP section. Whole time I kept Nylah close to me, making sure she was good.
Once I got her to the section, I sat her down and stepped to the side to talk to Dre.
“Nigga, is that her?” Dre asked ova the music.
I nodded. “Yeah, saw her when I was in BX and took her from the nigga she was with.”
Dre laughed as he dapped me up. “But why is she here tho?”
I looked ova at her in the distance. The bitches that saw me walk in with her was already looking at her like she stole their man, knowing can’t none of them bitches claim me even if I did fuck them.
“I wanted to make sure she could handle my lifestyle,” I finally said to Dre. “Had to make sure she was with the shits all the way.”
“And what do you think so far?” he asked.
“Come on now, what I said before didn’t change. She’s gonna be my wife.”
