Chapter 22
T ime waited for no one.
One minute, I was being snatched up and held at gunpoint, and now I was dating the woman who called for me to be snatched up.
The last couple of months had been more of a blessing than I ever expected.
Jaeda and I had grown closer, and I was even on friendly terms with her brothers.
Now that was unexpected. We’d gone out a few times just to chill, smoke, drink, and vibe.
When they weren’t on that bully shit, they were actually tolerable. There was nothing but laughs and shit talking among us. I think I’d finally proven that they couldn’t get to me, and it earned me their respect, not that I needed it. I would say it was nicer passing insults than threats.
Just the other week, we were kicking it in Deuce’s man cave. Drinks were flowing. Blunts were being passed around. We were just shooting the shit. Clearly, a little too much had been consumed, because Deuce, of all people, got very sentimental with me.
“Aye, man,” he said, pulling from his blunt. “You’re an okay ass nigga.”
I chuckled. “Well, thank you.”
“Nah, for real. I ain’t seen my little sister this happy. Like ever. She be walking around here just smiling and shit for no fucking reason, and I know that’s because of you.”
Maceo snickered. “Look at this muthafucka.”
Deuce glared at him. “Shut the fuck up, nigga. I’m trying to have a man-to-man conversation right now.
” He turned to me. “For real. Jaeda’s my baby.
I give her a lot of shit. Hell, I’ve given her a lot of shit about you, but I’d lay down my life for her.
She was the only girl raised with a bunch of brothers.
The first time Pops brought her home, I knew I’d fuck up the world and any nigga in it behind her. ”
Smoke stifled a laugh. “We going down memory lane, my boy?”
Kerrion snatched the blunt from Deuce. “Gimme this shit. You over here acting all soft and shit.”
Deuce laughed. “Man, being a girl dad will do it to you. I look at my babies and I know my heart wouldn’t function right without them.
” He looked at me. “That’s how Jaeda feels about you.
You’ve been good to my sister. You treat her like the black queen she is, and you respect her.
I appreciate that shit. As long as you keep being good to her, we won’t have any problems.”
“We won’t have any problems, man.”
“You love her?”
I paused for a moment. We still hadn’t said the words, but all the feelings were there. They’d been there.
“Nigga, do you love my sister?” Deuce spat impatiently.
“Yeah, man. I love her.”
“You told her that shit?”
“Not yet.”
“The fuck you waiting on? She loves your ass. You better tell her, and you better mean that shit when you say it. Don’t get your ass beat.”
We fell out laughing.
“You just said y’all ain’t had no problems!” Maceo said, his shoulders shaking from laughing so hard.
Deuce waved him off. “We don’t. But you ain’t gon’ love my sister and not tell her that shit. She should know how you feel. I tell my wife I love her every fucking day. Ain’t a doubt in her mind about that. If you make my sister doubt how you feel, we will most definitely have a problem.”
“I hear you, nigga, damn,” I said, causing them to laugh.
“You irritating this man, Deuce,” Steel said.
“Irritating as fuck,” I agreed.
Deuce grinned. “This is what you signed up for. A family of irritating ass people. Welcome to death row.”
I didn’t sign up for that shit, but I guess it came with the territory, so it was what it was.
Today was going to be interesting, to say the least. Our parents were finally meeting for the first time, and I was a little nervous. My mother and Jaeda had been building a relationship, and I was happy as hell that she could see what I saw in her. Mom adored her.
“Do I look okay?” Jaeda asked, looking herself over in my mirror.
I chuckled as I wrapped my arms around her from behind. “Baby, you’ve been around my parents a million times, and I know you’re used to yours. What are you nervous about?”
“Everything!”
“Everything will be fine. We’re gonna enjoy dinner. Have a few laughs, a few drinks. We’re good. You’re psyching yourself out for nothing.”
She turned in my arms and gave me those puppy dog eyes. “You promise?”
I smirked. “Yeah, love. I promise.”
I pecked her lips and pulled her in for a hug. She heaved a heavy sigh before relaxing into my embrace.
“Thank you,” she whispered.
“For what?”
“I don’t even know.” She giggled. “You just always reassure me.”
“I’m your man. I’m supposed to do that.”
“I know, I know. You’re just my comfort, . . . my peace.”
I peered down at her and cupped her face. “You’re mine too. I love you, Jaeda.”
Her eyes widened. “You . . . you do? You love me?”
“If I’m being honest with myself, I’ve loved you since the moment I laid eyes on you, baby. I knew you were it for me, and I’m sorry it took me so long to get you.”
She smiled with tears in her eyes. “I love you too, Quaid.”
Our lips crashed into each other’s, tongues tangled in a wild battle that neither of us wanted to lose. Picking her up, I wrapped her legs around my waist. Carrying her over to the wall, I pressed her back against it. As we continued to kiss, she reached between us to unbuckle my belt.
“We’re gonna be late,” I mumbled against her lips.
“I don’t care. I need you.”
How could I deny her that?
I allowed her to undo my pants before sliding them and my boxers down enough to let my dick spring free.
Reaching beneath her skirt, I pulled her panties to the side, then lined the head of my dick up with her entrance.
She moaned as I buried myself deep inside of her.
Hooking the bends of her knees into the crooks of my arms, I slowly guidedher up and down my shaft.
She cupped my face and kissed me nastily. My baby had been working on those Kegels because the way she tightened around my dick had me moaning into her mouth. Every time I slid in her raw, the pussy seemed to get better and better.
“Shit, Jae . . .” I groaned my satisfaction. “Why is your pussy so good?”
She smirked. “Because you trained her just for you.”
“Just for me, huh?”
“Only for you, baby.”
I bounced her faster on my dick, causing her ass to slap against my thighs. She clung to me, nails digging into my back.
“Oh my God! Fuck me!”
I loved when she got verbal. Sweet, innocent Jaeda had a filthy mouth, and I loved knowing I could bring her the type of pleasure she deserved. That I was the only one to give her this.
“I love you so fucking much,” I declared.
“I love you too . . . God, I love you.”
I thrusted into her with long, deep strokes, causing her moans to reverberate through the room.
Her eyes locked on mine, and the connection was so intense that I saw my life flash before my eyes.
My future was bright before, but it was nothing without her now.
I wanted everything with her—a life, babies, happiness. Every fucking thing.
“I’m cumming.” She panted in my ear. “Fuck! I’m gonna cum!”
“Give that shit to me then. My pussy deserves it.”
“Mmmm! It’s your pussy. All yours!”
I felt her walls tighten around my dick. She had my shit throbbing so bad that as she came, I came with her, filling her with every drop of my seed. She slumped against me, panting heavily. For a moment, we just held each other. When she pulled back, she cupped my face and kissed me sweetly.
“I love you,” she whispered.
“I love you too. To the death of me.”
We finally made it to my parents’ house about forty minutes later. Lucky for us, her people were pulling up at the same time, so we didn’t have to explain why we were late. Mr. Dillinger was the first to get out of his car. He came bearing a bottle of wine and a box of expensive cigars.
As he approached us, he gave Jaeda a hug and a kiss, then slapped my hand.
“What’s up, lil nigga?”
I smirked. “Am I ever gonna get you to call me by my name?”
He chuckled. “Eventually. You’re still around, so obviously, I like you.”
I shook my head as Jaeda’s mom, stepdad, Kalia, and Jaiden climbed out of the car. Ms. Tavia’s belly made an appearance before she did. Mr. Hershel offered her his arm, and she happily accepted.
Jaiden ran up to me with his phone in his hand and a smile on his face.
“I gotta show you something!”
“Speak first, Jaiden,” Jaeda told him.
“Hi, Uncle Stanley,” he said, giving him a hug.
I stifled a laugh. It was nice everybody was family, but damn if it wasn’t ghetto as hell.
“Hey, big man. How you doing?”
“I’m good. I behaved, I promise.”
Mr. Dillinger chuckled. “I believe you.”
Jaeda scooped him up in a hug and kissed his cheeks. “I missed you.”
“I missed you too. Put me down, please.”
She scoffed. “You make a new friend and forget all about your big sister.”
Jaiden grinned as she placed him on his feet. “Look, Mr. Quaid.”
He shoved the phone in my face to show me his Falcon outfit for Comic Con. Jaeda and I were taking him and Korri in a few weeks, and he was so excited.
I smiled. “My Black Panther costume came in too, man.”
“I can’t wait to put it on!”
I chuckled. Jaeda was going as Shuri, and Korri was going as Storm. I was still trying to get Titan to come with us, but he said fuck that.
Mr. Dillinger grinned as his ex approached us. “Hey, big mama.”
“Stanley, please don’t start with me.”
“You know it’s all love.” He leaned in and kissed her cheek before rubbing her stomach. “You don’t have much longer. You ready to start over, Hershel?”
Hershel nodded. “As ready as I can be. I’ve been busy building her furniture. Everything is almost done.”
“I might need you when I have my next one.”
“Oh, God no!” Kalia exclaimed. “Not you too!”
“Don’t follow that man up,” Jaeda said. “He better not be having any more babies or any more kids popping out the woodwork.”
“I take care of all my kids, and all my kids are taken care of.”
“Take your ass in this house,” Ms. Tavia said, shoving him toward the steps.
