Chapter 20

Twenty

Tossing and turning all fucking night had left me with no choice but to take a seat on the balcony as I sipped the Hennessy straight from the bottle. It was going on two and I still hadn’t heard from Brisk. I’d expected her to show up at my door when she left my sister’s home, but I hadn’t heard anything from her. I fell asleep waiting up for her, but just like the other nights, it wasn’t going well.

I felt like a sucker with a jones for a woman who didn’t want shit to do with me, but I knew that wasn’t true. Brisk wanted this. She wanted me and everything I had to bring to the table, but she also wanted her friendship just as bad. I understood, but I’d be damned if it didn’t drive me crazy in the process.

She’d asked for one night but this was the third and I refused to lay back down without her at my side. My first guess was that she’d spent the night with Melonie, but that wasn’t the case. Melonie had texted me before going to sleep asking what I had planned the next day. We chatted briefly, but she never indicated that Brisk was still around. She’d mentioned it feeling good to have gotten a few hours of her time. That meant their chat session had ended.

Melonie had dragged me across town to pick her up in the slingshot. She’d complained about stress kicking her ass and just needing a moment out of the house. We ended up going for tacos and queso. We’d made it back an hour before Brisk showing up. I’d parked the slingshot in the garage out of sheer habit because there weren’t any chances of rain in the forecast. If so, I wouldn’t have driven it.

I stared down at Brisk’s contact on my phone.

Baby. It was simple and straight to the point because that’s exactly what she was to me. My baby. And, I wanted her here with me right now. Putting my pride aside like I’d done over the last few days since she’d left my home, I called her.

“Hi?” She answered on the second ring. Sleep was evident in her voice. I’d awakened her, but I was happy she’d answered.

“Where are you, love?”

“I’m in the hills,” she sighed, “What time is it?”

I didn’t have any more words for Brisk, so I ended the call and headed back inside. I tossed a pair of sweats over my briefs and a shirt over my bare chest. My cell buzzed in my pocket as I pulled a fitted cap over my head and opened my front door.

It wasn’t until I was inside of my car and headed toward the same RV Park I’d made it my mission to find on the way home that I checked my cell. Brisk was calling me back, but there was no need to answer. I’d be seeing her at the park in a few. It, too, was in Huffington Hills and a mere six miles away from my house. The Hills RV Rest and Resort was the name of it and it was the only one in the hills.

I arrived at the rest area and parked my car near the entrance where vehicles were stationed. Accessing the compartment in my dash, I grabbed the .40 caliber and tucked it underneath my arm. I locked the doors and headed for the sea of RVs and campers that were on the grounds.

My Nike slides penetrated the grassy plain before stepping up and onto the concrete slab. Row after row, I searched until I located the Volkswagen logo in beige. Though it was relatively dark inside, there was a glimmer of light in the back of the camper. I opened my messages and immediately texted Brisk. The last thing I wanted to do was sneak up on her like this.

Open up.

Baby: You hung up in my face.

Open up and let me make it up to you.

The sound of the doors separating intrigued me. My dick hardened at even the thought of seeing her. The web that Brisk had me wrapped up in was shameful, but I didn’t give a fuck. Baby had that thunder between her thighs and a heart of gold. She brought me peace that not even my piece could. When she was around, the entire world played in the background.

Brisk opened the doors and sighed in contempt as she stared right at me. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes as she backed into the camper and sat on the bed. I followed her into the neatly arranged space after closing the doors behind me.

“I’m sorry I hung up on you,” I chuckled, “But can you drop the attitude? I haven’t seen you in three whole days.” I reminded her as I laid my Glock on the counter in front of us.

“You saw me a few hours ago,” she groaned.

“Involuntarily, though. But, not again. Never again.” I explained, removing my shirt and pants. “Either we’re in this shit together or we’re in this shit together.”

“Bello, it wasn’t intentional.”

“I’m not here to fight. That didn’t get us far last time. So, come on,” I tossed my legs over the bed and then behind her. “I came here for sleep. I haven’t gotten any in three days.”

I pulled Brisk back down to the bed with me. She immediately rested her head on my arm. Beyond this point, nothing more mattered. I was right where I needed to be and so was Brisk.

“I thought you were going to make it up to me,” she pierced the silence with.

“You’re not getting any dick, Brisk. Take your ass to sleep,” I finalized, drifting within seconds.

I couldn’t deprive her. Neither could I keep my dick in my briefs when I was around her. As I slid out of her gushiness, she moaned with content. We’d been playing a dangerous game, but I’d be damned if it didn’t feel good.

The morning sun tried escaping the blackout curtains that she had the camper wrapped in, but failed. I grabbed a towel from the rack near the sink and soaked it with warm water. After cleaning her remnants from my dick and balls, I rinse it under the water which had gotten much warmer. When satisfied with its dampness, I kneeled before Brisk.

Expanding her, I widened her legs until I was face to face with my kryptonite. Gently, slowly I cleaned her flesh. She was covered in my fluids as well as her own. I enjoyed the sight of them both.

“Be my girlfriend,” I asked, stopping only for a second to look up at Brisk.

“I thought I already was,” she responded.

“Nah. Not creeping off like that.”

“Are you going to hold this over my head forever?”

“Nah. Come on,” I strained as I stretched once the job was complete, “Let’s go get cleaned up.”

“I’m going to tell her,” she said suddenly, rising from the bed.

“Huh?”

“Melonie. I’m going to tell her today. I intended to tell her yesterday, but she had so much going on. Today, I’m going to tell her.”

“I’d like to join you.” Standing at the counter, I pulled her between my legs and touched her lips with mine.

“Will it be too much? Us coming over together?”

“Maybe so. That’s why I think you should take the camper. That way it’ll be parked somewhere safe. Because, after today there won’t be any use for it. You’re camping out at my place until you find your own or I’m putting you up in a hotel if you’d prefer. What you’re not doing is sleeping out here anymore, even though that bed is comfortable as shit.”

“You think you’re the boss of me,” She giggled, swiping her tongue across my lips.

“Well, we know you’re the boss of me,” I shrugged, carelessly.

The shit was true. Her actions determined my moves and there wasn’t shit I could do about it at this point. For once, I wasn’t opposed to the dictatorship. Wherever she needed me, I’d be. Whatever she wanted, I’d see to it that she got it.

“Hmmmm. We will see how long that lasts.”

“Come on. Let’s get dressed so that we can get our day started.”

“First stop, Melonie.”

“First stop,” I agreed.

Within an hour, we’d both freshened up and had gotten dressed. I didn’t know how much I’d missed having Brisk’s little ass around until I saw her prancing through my shit naked as she searched for her razor to shave underneath her arms. She wasn’t too fond of my cackling as she scrambled through the house, cold and wet.

Nevertheless, we ended our shower on a good note, hers lasting a bit longer than mine so that she could do all the things that made her irresistible pertaining to the physical. Because I knew this would be a long fucking day, I decided to pour up some peace early. Had this been weeks ago, I wouldn’t have been as worried, but Brisk had let so much time pass before finally deciding to tell Melonie what was up.

That had delayed my plans for my parents, but it was all good. Now that shit was about to be out in the open, I’d be seeing my mother very soon. My father already knew the deal. He was simply waiting to meet her - as my girlfriend and not Melonie’s sidekick.

“You ready?” Brisk brushed past me and went into the fridge.

I took another sip of my peach lemonade with a shot of Hennessey inside and nodded. “Ready as I’ll ever be.”

She was stunning in simple denim pants and a white t-shirt. Though the outfit was basic at best, she made that shit look swell. Her buttery skin glistened and she smelled like the Chanel that I’d insisted she open from her collection of gifts that I’d gotten her. Paired with some brown flats that made her white toenails pop, Brisk was ready for whatever the day offered her.

“Good, because my nerves are all over the place. I’m so ready to get this off my chest. I just hope Melonie doesn’t hate me.”

“She can’t. She doesn’t have it in her heart to,” I guaranteed her.

I finished off my drink and placed the glass in the sink. We locked up behind us and headed out of the door. Hand-in-hand, Brisk and I walked down the short distance to the elevator. With only one other loft on the floor, it wasn’t very far.

The pinging that sounded just before we made it let me know that my neighbors had made it home. I pulled Brisk closer, ready to introduce her to the Clemmons, but it was neither of them that rounded the corner. The face that appeared in the distance halted both Brisk and I’s steps. Her grip loosened before she completely let go of me, putting an unnecessary amount of distance between us.

“Melonie,” Brisk started, both hands in front of her as she tried finding the right words to pacify the pain that was written all over Melonie’s face. “I promise I can explain.”

“Explain? Explain what, Brisk?”

My heart ached as I watched the tears fall from my niece’s eyes. Closing my own because I couldn’t bear the look on her pretty face, I listened to the exchange from a distance.

“I’m sorry. I was on my way to tell you.”

“Tell me? Tell me what, Brisk? That you’re suddenly fucking my uncle? My uncle , B? Out of all the people in the entire world. Why him?” She screamed at the top of her lungs. “You fucking bitch!”

“Melonie!” I yelled, finally opening my eyes. I needed the attention diverted from Brisk and onto me. I could take the hit, but Brisk wouldn’t be able to come back from them if Melonie continued.

“No. No. You don’t get to talk to me,” she raised her voice, even though the shakiness of it.

“Melonie. Come inside and let’s talk about this, love.”

“Fuck you and fuck her!” Melonie screamed as she smashed the button to the elevator.

Never in all of my years on earth had she ever disrespected me in any form or fashion. While I wanted to let shit ride being that she was fucked up about this all, I couldn’t help but wonder why she felt it was necessary to handle each of us in such a manner.

“Respect, Melonie,” I reminded her as I straightened my beard with my hand - a sign of uneasiness that had become a habit of mine.

Melonie remained silent aside from the boisterousness of the tears that fell onto her heaving chest. The elevator had never left the floor, pinging again only a second or two after she pressed the button. Before any more words could be exchanged, she’d hopped on and was gone.

“FUCK.” I gnawed the inside of my jaw until I felt the bitterness of blood on my tongue. “FUCK.”
