Chapter Ten

Jaxson reached over to stroke some of Tillie’s hair out of the way.

After enjoying her delicious meal last night, he spent half the night making love to her.

This was so unusual to him, because he was so used to not wanting a woman for longer than one single time.

He never lingered, never cared about their day.

He never thought about them past the moment he was with them.

Tillie was different. He knew she was different, and that was why he had partly been afraid to close that distance between them, to make something more of this.

She let out a little noise.

Jaxson needed to get to the ranch, but now that Tillie was waking up, he couldn’t resist kissing her neck and gliding his lips down her body, toward her shoulder. She laid on her stomach, and she started to move, so he kissed down her body, going toward her ass and he gripped the flesh.

“What are you doing?” she asked.

“Waking you up. Consider me your much friendlier alarm clock.” He grabbed her hips and spun her around, spreading her thighs open. He pressed a kiss to her hip bone, then started to trail his lips toward her slit. He couldn’t help but groan. “Hello, sweetheart,” he said. “Did you miss me?”

Tillie burst out laughing. “Are you talking to my...”

He looked up her body. “What were you going to say?”

“Damn it, Jaxson.”

“Tell me. Let me hear you say the word pussy,” he said.

She groaned. “Are you talking to my ... pussy?”

He chuckled. “Yes, I am. She needs to know I have missed her.”

She gasped as he slipped his tongue between her slit and stroked across her nub. He loved the sounds she made, so he took the nub of her clit and tugged on it, just a little hard, making her arch up against him. This is what he wanted, and he loved when he drove her wild with need.

“Please,” she said.

“Do you want me to do a little more than talking?”

She whimpered.

And he flicked his tongue across her clit, going back and forth, taking her nub between his teeth, and sucking on it. Not too hard, but with plenty of pressure to drive her crazy for more.

“Please,” she said, whimpering.

“You want more?”

Her hands clenched the sheet beneath her. Jaxson wanted to feel her come on his cock. He pulled away and gripped the base of his cock, moving between her thighs. He didn’t look away as inch by inch, he slid inside her, going deeper. She was so tight, and soaking wet.

He gritted his teeth, but grabbed her hips, slamming the last few inches inside her, so they both cried out from the pleasure. Jaxson closed his eyes for a few minutes and just enjoyed the sensation of her tight, quivering pussy as every inch of her flooded his senses.

Every part of her called to him.

He craved her.

Hungered for her.

And then, he pulled out, only to slide back inside her, and he opened his eyes, staring into hers, then he moved down to watch his dick fill her.

Moving over her, he put his hands beside her head and took his time, pulling out his cock, until only the tip remained, then he slammed forward, forcing them both to cry out from pleasure. It consumed every part of him.

He slowed down, making her wait for every thrust, but then he sped up, so the bed hit the wall with the force of his thrusts. He just couldn’t help himself and he couldn’t stop it.

Finally, he eased back, because before he filled her with his cum, he wanted to feel her come all over his dick.

He stayed balls-deep within her but slid his fingers to her clit, and he watched her, feeling her pussy pulse around his dick.

Jaxson had to grit his teeth as she tightened around him.

He felt the change in her, going higher and higher to that peak, and the moment she went over the edge, he couldn’t take another second.

He moved his hands out of the way and fucked her hard, driving inside her.

Jaxson joined her, barking her name through gritted teeth, as every nerve ending went on high alert and he came apart. It felt incredible. It always did with her.

“Don’t you prefer me as an alarm clock?” he asked.

Jaxson didn’t get to hear her answer, as in that next second, his cell phone rang, and it was his work phone. He groaned, pressing a kiss to her shoulders as he pulled back.

“Give me a second,” he said.

He had to pull out of her, and it pissed him off that his morning had been interrupted. Checking the number on his cell phone, he had no choice but to groan, because Cruz was the last person he wanted to speak to. Clicking the “accept call” button, he put his cell phone to his ear.

“Where the fuck are you?” Cruz asked, not allowing him to answer nicely.

“I said I would be there at eight.”

“It is fucking eight o’clock, you asshole.”

Jaxson frowned and moved the pillow out of the way, only to find that Tillie’s alarm clock was flashing. He reached for his watch that he placed on the side of the bed, and sure enough, it was five minutes past eight.

“Shit!”

“Yeah, and you promised you’d be here by eight. What kind of ser—”

“I’ll be right there.” He hung up his cell phone and ran a hand down his face. “Your alarm clock isn’t working,” he said.

Tillie frowned, moved across the bed, and winced. “Crap. I’ll change the batteries. It was working yesterday.”

Jaxson sighed. “I’ve got to go, and trust me, I do not want to cut this short, however, Cruz is a pain in the ass. Seriously, the guy needs to get laid.”

“Don’t do it, Jaxson. I told you all of that in confidence. Do not get involved.”

“I won’t, but come on, it would make my life easier.”

“And Kate would never trust me again, and I don’t know if you noticed, but it’s not like I have a lot of friends in town.”

“Bullshit, you have a lot of friends.”

“People like me and are nice to me, but I don’t actually have a whole load of friends. Kate’s the same.”

Jaxson pulled on his jeans and his shirt and leaned across the bed. “I’ll meet you for lunch. Bring Belle, we’ll have a picnic or something. We’ll talk more, then, I’ve got to go.”

Belle was at the back door, pawing at it, and he felt so bad. He let her out and quickly shouted up to Tillie that he had done that.

His woman was already rushing downstairs, belting up her robe. “I’ll take care of it,” she said, moving toward him and kissing him on the lips, before heading back toward the door where he’d let Belle out.

For a second, he watched Tillie go, just admiring the full curves of her ass, and the truth was, he couldn’t take his eyes away from her.

One last lingering look, and he finally forced himself to leave.

Tillie sat back from her sewing machine, pressing “stop” on her camera, and then gripping her shoulders, as she tried to ease the tension out of the back of her neck.

She’d been sitting over her sewing machine for a good three hours, and lunch was not too far away.

Her coffee had gone cold, and she got to her feet, turning all her machines off for the time being.

She didn’t like to leave her house unless everything was turned off.

She closed and locked the garage door, and made her way through to the kitchen, finishing as much of her coffee as she could stand.

Cold coffee was not her favorite. Once she drank that, she let Belle out the backyard to have a quick bathroom break.

She gathered her scoop and dealt with it before making her way back into the house to wash her hands.

She grabbed her bag, and there was no point in a jacket as it was still too hot. She put Belle on a lead, because no matter how much time she spent training Belle, whenever her little dog got a scent of something, there was absolutely no stopping her.

Tillie locked up her house, left, and made her way toward town.

She didn’t live too far from town, and she said hello to each neighbor she passed.

Several said hello back, and there were a couple of girls who walked past her, giggling behind their hands.

She didn’t let it bother her. Girls giggled for no reason, apparently.

Tillie checked her cell phone to see where Jaxson wanted to meet up, and rather than wait for him to order, she headed into his favorite coffee shop and ordered what he would have liked.

“That’s her. That is the girl he’s currently with,” someone said, attempting to whisper and absolutely failing at it.

“Her. I’d give it a month. Let’s face it, he is not a man who can stay with one woman.”

“He is already staying with her.”

“Yeah, well, I heard he has a thing for Kate at the fabric shop, so I think he’s playing both of them. There is also a rumor he’s doing both at the same time.”

Tillie thanked the lady behind the counter and made her way outside. Belle jumped up, like she always did, and settled onto her lap.

Would there always be people speculating about her and Jaxson’s relationship? She knew he had a terrible reputation. It wasn’t like she was immune to how he was, or what he used to do.

“Tillie, hello, I am so glad to see you.”

She’d been so distracted by her own thoughts, she hadn’t even heard Susan Riggs, Jaxson’s mother, step up to her at her table. As usual, Belle was not impressed.

“Oh, my, isn’t she adorable?” Susan said, and stroked Belle as if her growling was nothing. It seemed to do the trick, as Belle settled right onto her lap.

“Hi, Mrs. Riggs,” she said.

Susan took the seat opposite her. “Please call me Susan. I wanted to invite you to dinner this Sunday. You and Jaxson.”

“Oh,” Tillie said.

The other woman waved her hand. “I’m aware of the town gossip, and I also know my son is absolutely smitten with you, and he’s terrified of you coming to meet us, in case you don’t like us.”

“Do you think Jaxson would like me to meet you?” she asked, not exactly sure how she should handle this.

“Absolutely. You totally should. I look forward to it. I’m cooking roast chicken with a variety of salads.

There is no way I am cooking too much in this heat.

I might also bake a lemon meringue pie. That sounds absolutely delicious.

I’ve already got fresh ice cream in the freezer.

My man does not like to eat that store-bought stuff.

He says it’s mine or none.” Susan smiled.

“Anyway, I better get going. These groceries are not going to deliver themselves. I thought I would invite you, and I’ll get Mark to handle Jaxson.

He is going to be nervous, but my boy has a good heart. ”

Susan got to her feet, then stopped. “And don’t mind what those women say. They may laugh and giggle and think this is not the real deal, but I know my son, and I know it is. Jaxson has a good heart, he just has a funny way of showing it.”

Tillie hadn’t even realized that Susan was behind her in the coffee shop line. Before she got a chance to apologize, Susan was already on her way. She took a sip of her hot coffee, and it helped soothe her.

Running her hand down Belle’s back, her dog settled in, and time ticked by.

She had gotten their lunch covered with some plastic wrap as they were eating outside.

She pulled out her cell phone to see if there was even a single text from Jaxson, and still, there was nothing.

He should have already been here. She stayed there for a good hour, ordering a second coffee for herself.

Finally, just when she was about to gather their food, Jaxson was running toward her.

“I’m so sorry,” Jaxson said, and quickly pulled out his chair. He still wore his tool belt around his waist, and he was wet, and she also smelled a horrible musty scent.

He moved in close and kissed her lips. “The job at Cruz’s ranch took way longer than I anticipated.

Every time I reached for my cell phone to call you, something else fucking happened.

Then, on the way here, I dropped my fucking phone on the foot pedal of the passenger side.

I’ve just literally made it to Kate’s shop, and my truck has completely died on me. ”

“Wow,” she said.

“Yeah, it has been a shit morning, and trust me, being on Cruz’s ranch is not fun. In fact, I would go so far as to say it was one of the shittiest days I’ve ever had. He’s fucking tight and thinks he knows best.”

Tillie chuckled.

Jaxson leaned close. “I do not know what Kate sees in him. Trust me, he is a monster.”

“Your mom stopped by,” Tillie said.

“She did?”

“Yeah, she has invited us both to lunch on Sunday.”

Jaxson looked across the table, and it appeared as if he had lost a little color. “Do you want to go?”

“Would you like me to go?” Tillie asked. “You’ve not talked about meeting your parents, and that is a pretty big step.”

Jaxson reached across the table and took her hand. “I want you to be there. I want you to meet my parents. I just wish I was there to kind of buffer between the two of you. My mom can be a little much. I’m her little boy.”

Tillie smiled. “Of course you are, and besides, I happen to like your mom. Are you worried they’re going to hate me?” She hadn’t thought about that.

“No, my parents are going to adore you.”
