Bits of Marauders Two Ridge

Everyone gathered in the main room after breakfast and coffee.

Trudy had sent them SAT images of the massive convoy that was coming their way.

When Boomer studied the images Trudy sent, he told them all, “We won’t survive this.”

The men all yelled and got upset, saying no one could beat them. That they would fight and win.

Boomer and his brother Bouncer looked at the group of forty men and then they looked at each other.

Raising his hands up, Boomer used his huge voice and yelled, “Shut. The. Hell. Up!”

He and Bouncer then outlined the plan they had talked about a half hour earlier.

Now the men and the few women all stared at them.

“Well fuck,” Titus said.

Nodding his head, Ridge agreed, “You two are evil.”

Boomer and his brother beamed at them as they both nodded.

“Hence, why we are the prez,” Bouncer stated in almost as loud of a voice as his brother, Boomer...which was quite a feat.

Everyone in the room laughed.

Next, they all discussed the plan. They all had parts to play and things to add.

Some added their ideas.

Finally after an hour, they agreed.

Jep got his camera and laptop ready.

Ridge went outside and set up the video feed.

The other men covered all the large windows with plywood, all had rifle barrel holes in them one on each side.

“Our man at the lookout point up the stretch, says they are coming,” Hot Rod announced.

Jep agreed, “I see them on the cameras down at the three-thousand foot marker.”

Finally, after another twenty minutes, the many vehicles came up the long winding road to the mountain clubhouse.

As they all watched the two monitors as the band of men rammed the Marauder’s gates with an SUV adorned with a battering ram. There were many men, perhaps seventy-five as far as they could tell.

“Christ,” Reno stated as she stared at the screens.

“We are ready, so no worries,” Titus told her.

“But they are gonna...” Reno watched the screen as the SUV went through the gate. “...get in,” she finished.

“We want them in,” Bouncer said. “Remember?”

Boomer nodded as he grinned. “They need to come to us.”

Crank agreed, “How else can we have the conversation we need to have?”

Reno took Titus’ hand in hers as she trembled.

Leaning in, he whispered, “We know what we’re doing.”

She nodded and watched the screens but her face had gone pale.

“They are almost to the line,” Ridge stated.

When everyone was assembled, Boomer spoke, “This is it.”

Hot Rod spoke up, “What if they attack first?”

Boomer and Bouncer met gazes. Then they looked back up at him.

“We will talk first,” Boomer replied.

Titus nodded as he held his rifle up to the window. “We still need to have cover.”

The rest of the Marauders did the same, moving to the windows.

Mollie and Reno grabbed the last rifles left from the table and went over to the plywood covered windows as well.

Vance turned to tell everyone, “We did some planting this morning at dawn.”

“Planting?” one of the men asked.

“Yep, we learned this trick from the best, back in the swamps,” Boomer said. “No one will get close enough to shoot. If they try.”

Tracker nodded. “No need to pick anyone off either. Unless they get past it.”

“Past it?” Crank asked.

“Just hold your fire if the talking doesn’t work,” Spider advised. “Then when they get to that little stake in the ground, you'll get it.”

The men all glanced at each other then peeked out through the slits cut into the plywood. Tension in the room rose as now, as all the monitors showed Ricco’s men heading up the drive to the camp.

When the vehicles turned into the large lot, they finally stopped.

As they watched, they all finally saw Todd and his men in other vehicles.

He was in the lead vehicle and dressed in a suit of all things. He stood up through a panoramic roof in the lead SUV.

When he saw him, Crank scoffed. “That stupid motherfucker.”

Bouncer rolled his eyes and agreed as he laughed. “He dresses to impress, I guess. He thinks this is a board of directors meeting or something.”

“Well, this board of directors just got fucking real,” Vance raised his rifle and looked through the scope.

Taking a mega horn out, Todd spoke, “Nolan, come out and face me, son. Your time has come to join me.”

Titus shook his head. “He’s callin’ you out, Crank.”

Bouncer grunted. “That motherfucker’s calling us all out. But stick to the plan, Crank.”

Crank smirked as he tapped the speaker button and leaned down to speak, “I don’t have to do shit. You shoulda learned that a long time ago. Besides, we have front row seats to your downfall, Dad.”

“My downfall?” Todd scoffed. “Man, you people must be high.” He laughed. “I got seventy men here all armed that say differently.”

Ricco wore a stony expression as he hadn’t spoken at all yet. He held a rifle in his hand as all his men did the same.

“Besides,” Crank spoke again through the mic. “You aren’t getting a dime from me. So, tell your buddy Ricco that he isn’t getting his money.”

Todd glanced over at Ricco and looked rather nervous as he laughed.

“He’s a bit stubborn, but no worries.” He then looked incensed and turned his attention back to yelling through the megaphone, “If you do not turn that inheritance over to me Nolan, I will end up killing your daughter. Right, little Reno? You little bitch, how do you like your temporary freedom?” He referred to Frankie kidnapping her.

Reno gasped with anger and stepped away from Titus as her fear instantly left. She moved over to the mic and pressed the button. “Good luck, grandpa. Your buddy there will not be your friend much longer.”

Todd looked confused as he opened his mouth to ask.

“That’s my cue right, Reno?” Mollie nodded then leaned over and tapped the button as she cut him off, “Aww Daddy...This is Mollie.... Your daughter. What about me? You aren’t here to visit me?”

Todd looked disgusted. “The fuck? I don’t know you at all.”

“Aww, now you are hurting my itty bitty feelings, Daddy. You remember me, right? You murdered my mom about five years ago.”

Todd paused as he did know exactly who she was now. “Why the hell are you here?”

“I brought your family ring to Nolan. It will be his soon after all.”

Todd scowled. “What the...” Then he gasped and spoke into the megaphone again, “You have my ring? How?”

“Well, that is simple...I found it where you strangled my mother. So, I returned it to Nolan.”

Todd shook his head. “I will get to your demise later, little bitch. You will then be as dead as your rotten mother.”

“But don’t you want me to share the family picture my mom saved for you?” Mollie quipped.

Todd paused as he looked confused. “Shut the fuck up and stay out of this. You are not my family.”

Bouncer leaned down and spoke now, “If I were you, I would turn tail and run now, fucker.”

All the men outside heard this threat about running and began to laugh. There were so many of them the laughter got loud.

Todd had been laughing too, then he shook his head and shouted, “Fuck you! We outnumber you.”

Boomer now looked back and gave Jep a nod. “Go ahead.”

Jep tapped on his laptop and then gave Crank a huge grin.

Booomer was smiling as he chuckled. “This is getting good.”

“Like... a reality show,” Mollie joked.

“Right?” Ursala asked. “And damn, where’s the popcorn?”

“Oh, well look, you shoulda run. Cause now you missed your chance,” Boomer taunted him in a sarcastic voice.

Todd looked around, as he seemed to be confused. “My chance for what?”

No answer came this time.

“Ok, everyone duck. In about sixty seconds, the bullets are gonna fly!” Boomer’s loud voice rang out inside the clubhouse.

The men and the few women, all crouched low.

Outside of the clubhouse, Todd halted when he saw something strange on the largest side wall at the front of the building. He grimaced and looked perplexed for a full minute, then all the color drained from his face.

Up there shining from a camera sitting on the ground, was him and Stella Sanchas...in all their nude glory. He slowly looked over to Ricco.

The man glared at him as his face looked completely red and his eyes were full of murderous rage. “You son of a whore! You and my Stella?” he shouted. “You are fucking dead!” He raised his hand and circled it. “Kill them all!” He pointed at Todd’s vehicles.

Gunshots rang out from both sides as each army shot at the other.

Metallic pings hit everywhere. Men screamed and still the firing went on.

Blood started to pool along the ground as men fell.

The tires all deflated on the vehicles, hissing could be heard from radiators in the cars as hot antifreeze leaked out everywhere. More screams, yells and shouts.

Inside the clubhouse, everyone covered their ears while lying on the floor. The sounds were deafening.

Finally, the shooting died off and smoke drifted everywhere.

“Stay down yet!” Boomer ordered then he motioned to his son Spider.

Spider slowly rose up just enough to peek through the bottom of the rifle notch on the plywood covering the window. Looking back and forth he stared.

“What do you see?” Tracker asked him in a whisper..

“No one is moving. Plus, Todd looks like...well... um...Swiss cheese?”

“Anyone alive?” Boomer asked.

Crank had now peeked through the plywood above him. “Yes, there’s a few covered in paint?”

More of the men took spots by plywood and were also looking.

“Well shit, paintball booby traps?” Crank asked.

“Yes! It worked,” Boomer said as he was peeking through his own spot. “So while some were shooting, Ricco had men who were going to try to get in here at the same time.”

“So, that means...” Bouncer looked over at his brother.

Boomer nodded. “He had planned this doublecross already.”

“You mean before we showed the photo?” Mollie asked while looking shocked.

“Yep,” Crank replied. “Sounds about right.”

“Wait a minute!” Jep called from his laptop. “There’s five vehicles heading down the mountain road. They just hit the three-thousand foot marker.”

“Damn,” Boomer swore. “Does anyone see Ricco’s body out there?”

“No, and I bet you won’t find it,” Trudy’s voice came from somewhere in the room.

Everyone looked over at Jep and his laptop.

He nodded and pointed at it.

Trudy’s voice went on, “You also will not find Todd’s two other sons. They have double crossed him and are now part of Ricco’s crew. I’m sending Jep the SAT video of them now.”

An image showed up on the screen of some vehicles including the SUV Ricco had been in. They were parking at a gas station in town below Lookout Mountain.

Everyone in the room stared at the three men standing there as they shook hands. It was Ricco and Cranks’ two brothers. They were all smiling.

Crank and Bouncer looked at each other.

“Well, I sure as shit didn’t see that coming,” Crank said.
