Chapter 28

Scott had no idea what was going on anymore.

Cam found him after the podium celebrations and fucked him again, and Scott let him, despite Cam being still sweaty and gross after the race.

And then he fucked him again in Cam’s hotel room shower. Scott’s knees were shaking and his body felt like jelly when he finally fell into Cam’s bed, but Cam crawled on top of him and slipped into his loose, fucked-out hole once again.

“Oh my god, you can’t be serious,” Scott whined into the pillow, half-groaning, half-laughing. “How are you even getting it up?”

Cam covered his neck in hot, open-mouthed kisses, his scruff sending delicious tingles all over Scott’s body. “One more time,” he said, starting to move again. “Need to have you again.”

Scott was beyond sore and oversensitive at that point, his body overstimulated after so many orgasms, his nipples sore from Cam’s mouth, his hole sore from Cam’s cock, but he gave in. He let Cam fuck him again. He was that weak—that pathetically gone for him.

His orgasm was completely dry this time, pleasure mixed with the pain of overstimulation as he shuddered and moaned into the pillow. He felt Cam come in him—barely a trickle too—and then Cam dropped his weight on top of him and finally went still, breathing hard.

“Done?” Scott murmured.

Cam laid his hand over his and entangled their fingers, his breath hot and damp against Scott’s nape. “For now.”

“I won’t be able to walk for a week,” Scott complained without much heat.

Cam hummed, his face still buried in his neck.

His weight should have felt suffocating.

It didn’t. Scott could happily spend the rest of his life like this, crushed under this man, with his cock nestled between Scott’s sore cheeks, and his fingers entwined with his.

Despite feeling exhausted, sore, sweaty and generally gross, he felt like purring, all soft on the inside, achingly, deliriously happy.

He’d always felt like he wanted Cam more than Cam wanted him, but today had laid those doubts to rest once and for all.

“I need to go,” Scott mumbled reluctantly after a while. “Can’t fall asleep here—need to leave while it’s still dark.”

He felt Cam stiffen against him. “No,” he said into his nape. “You aren’t going anywhere.”

Smiling, Scott yawned. “Don’t be silly. I can’t stay. Even coming back to your hotel with you was a risk—”

“You’re staying.”

The finality in Cam’s voice startled him. There was no hesitation in it. Cam had said it like it was an indisputable fact.

Scott blinked a few times, feeling lost. “Cam…”

Cam mouthed the back of his neck—practically chewed on it. “You used to call me—words. You don’t do it anymore.”

Scott frowned, confused. “Words—what—you mean endearments?”

Silence was the only answer.

Taking it for yes, Scott turned onto his back so he could see Cam’s face. “Really, babe?” he said, a smile tugging at his lips when he saw the color high on Cam’s cheekbones. He looped his arms around Cam’s neck. “You want me to call you baby? Darling? Love?”

Cam’s expression became pinched, but he didn’t say no.

Scott’s smile softened, something warm and overwhelming making his heart clench and his throat close up. “Babe,” he said softly, experimentally. “Did you miss me, love?”

Cam’s pupils dilated, and Scott felt Cam’s spent dick actually twitch against his thigh.

Stunned and more than a little elated, Scott whispered, “You did. That’s why you wanted me to miss you. You want me to—you want me to love you?”

Cam’s Adam’s apple bobbed. “Yes,” he said in a stilted, hoarse voice.

“I couldn’t—I don’t like not having you in my life.

I fucking hate it. I want you to always be around.

To always smile at me. To always be there when I return home.

” A muscle jumped in Cam’s jaw, his dark eyes burning with intensity.

“I always want you—not just after a bad race when I’m stressed and want to bury myself in you and soak up your positivity.

I want you close always. Need to know you’ll always answer when I text you.

Need to know you’re thinking of me constantly too.

” He bit the inside of his cheek, his eyes meeting Scott’s.

“I need—I want to be special for you. Not just a friend you fuck to spend your time while you look for the next pretty twink who’s ‘the One.’ I won’t—I can’t let you go. ”

Scott stared at him, wide-eyed and breathless. “You’re such an idiot, Richter,” he finally managed. “You’re the only man I’ve ever let fuck me. It doesn’t get more special than that.”

“It’s not enough for me, Scotty.” Cam pressed their foreheads together. “I want more. Say the words. You stopped saying them.”

Scott swallowed. “I stopped saying them for a reason.” Because I never meant them more.

Cam rubbed his nose against his. “What reason?”

“I’m scared,” Scott whispered with a weak laugh, closing his eyes and breathing him in as he hugged the man on top of him close. “I’ve always said them so easily, but with you it—I can’t say them anymore if you don’t say them back. I know it’s pathetic, but I need you to love me.”

Silence.

He felt Cam inhale.

“I love you.”

Scott’s eyes snapped open.

Cam was looking at him with a rueful, intense expression. “I love you, Scotty.”

“You don’t mean that,” Scott whispered, his heart pounding. “You’re just saying it to placate me.”

Cam’s expression was steady and intent. “I never meant anything more. I didn’t realize how bad I had it for you until you were gone from my life.

I deluded myself that what I felt for you was just friendship, but looking back, it’s been more than that for a while.

” He took Scott’s hand and entwined their fingers.

“I love you. I want you to be mine. In every sense of the word. Body, heart—and hell, legally too.”

Scott’s throat felt so thick with emotion he could barely speak. He chuckled. “Have you just proposed to me, Cameron Richter?”

He’d thought Cam would laugh.

But Cam remained serious, his gaze fixed on him. “No. I’ll do it properly in a few years, once I retire.”

Scott stared at him. “You’re not serious,” he whispered.

Formula One champions didn’t marry men. Even retired champions didn’t.

Even after Cam confessed his feelings, Scott had assumed he would always be Cam’s dirty little secret, and he’d been fine with that.

Well. That wasn’t entirely true. He hadn’t been fine with it.

Not really. But he would rather have Cam’s love in secret than not have him at all.

“I’m very serious,” Cam said, looking at him steadily.

“I’m not going to come out while I still race—I don’t want my relationship to be the focus of every question instead of my driving.

But once I put my helmet on the shelf, I’m not going to hide that you’re mine.

I don’t give a shit that you’re a man. You’re the most important person in my life. I want everyone to know that.”

Scott’s vision was suddenly blurry. He blinked rapidly, trying to clear it. This was—this was—Cam was talking about commitment here. He was absolutely certain that they’d still be together years down the line.

And the thing was, so was Scott. He couldn’t imagine not loving this man anymore, couldn’t imagine his life without him at all.

“Oh god, shut up before I start crying,” Scott croaked, pulling Cam into another kiss and clinging to him with all four limbs. “It makes me look so gross.”

Cam smiled against his mouth, kissing him back with a tenderness that made Scott’s chest ache in the best possible way.

“I’d never believe that,” Cam murmured.

“I’m serious,” Scott insisted, sniffling dramatically. “My face gets all blotchy and red. It’s not a pretty sight.”

Cam brushed his thumb across Scott’s cheek. “I think you’re always beautiful. I thought you were beautiful even when I was being a homophobic dick to you.”

Scott let out a watery laugh. “I knew it! I’m glad you can finally admit it was love at first sight for you.”

“Well,” Cam said, smirking a little, “I wouldn’t go that far. You were extremely annoying when we met.”

“Says the pot to the kettle! You were incredibly rude! You acted like—” Scott cut himself off, noticing the strange, fixated look on Cam’s face. “What?”

Cam’s thumb stroked his cheek again. “Nothing. I just missed looking at you.”

Scott stared at him for a moment before burying his face against Cam’s neck with a groan. “You’re such a sap.”

“Says the guy hanging off me like a koala.”

“I’ve earned it,” Scott mumbled. “Besides, you started the cuddling.”

“I did.”

“And you’re never getting rid of me now.”

A slow smile spread across Cam’s face. “I was rather hoping I wouldn’t.”

Grinning, Scott pulled him into another kiss.

Outside, the paddock buzzed with the race weekend, the championship fight waiting just beyond the hotel walls. But here, in their little bubble, none of it mattered.

It was just him and Cam.

And, at long last, everything was exactly as it was meant to be.
