Elle
It’s once again freezing, but I came prepared this time.
I dressed in layers and remembered hand warmers this time.
Archer walks with me up to Trunk or Treat, it has grown ever since the Wolves got involved.
Wolves have a huge tent where the players interact with the community at the far end of the parking lot.
Various sponsors have tents spread across the space.
Families who volunteer their time and candy have their cars set up and decorated for the event.
Not too far from where the Wolves are set up is my school’s tent.
I smile knowing that I will be able to watch him be cute with the kids.
“This is where we have to part ways I’m afraid.” Archer mutters as he presses a kiss to my temple.
Sadie makes an exaggerated “Awww” and I turn to see her grinning. “Hi Archer!” She sing songs. Her blonde hair done in Princess Leia buns and a matching dress.
“Hi Sadie” He mimics back.
“Eleanor” Jess delights. Jess has always called me Eleanor even though it’s not my real name. It’s our inside joke. “Who is this tall drink of water that has accompanied you to our fine establishment?” She drawls.
I resist the urge to roll my eyes at her fake southern accent. “This is Archer. He’s my—”
“Boyfriend, great to meet you all.” Archer says, shaking my coworkers’ hands.
“Okay, I will be grilling you about every aspect of this.” Jess whispers to me as Archer continues to shake hands with everyone.
“Would you be able to come back and take a picture with us later?” Henry, my principal asks. “I would love to be able to post it to socials.”
“Of course.” Archer replies, gracious as always. Giving me one last smile he heads off to the Wolves tent.
As soon as he’s out of earshot the inquisition begins.
“Okay Elle, what the heck!” Katherine hisses. “You’re dating the Wolves QB and you failed to mention it?! How long has this been going on?” Katherine practically yells before turning in on Sadie. “How long has this been going on?! You’re not innocent either, I know you knew!”
“Hey! Not my circus, not my monkey!” Sadie exclaims, holding her hands up.
“Sadie’s innocent!” I say stepping in between Sadie and Katherine; they have a tumultuous relationship at best. “I asked her to keep my secret, I didn’t want everyone to know until we had some time to ourselves, but that reporter had to drag Archer’s private life to the forefront which resulted in him having to go public with our relationship.
I asked him if it was possible to keep my identity a secret because I don’t want people all up in my shit. ”
Leanne ever the peacekeeper steps in, “Okay that’s enough, Ellie has a right to privacy and honestly, I get it.
Not everyone is comfortable with everyone knowing about their sex and dating life Katherine.
” She shoots Katherine a glare, having been subject to one too many of Katherine’s rather explicit sex stories.
Thank God that Henry left to talk to some of the businesses as soon as Archer did. I think I would have crawled into a hole and died had he witnessed this.
“Okay tell us everything. How did you two meet? What was your first date like, how long have you guys been together?” Jess asks.
“How’s the sex?!” Katherine interjects.
Sighing, I begin to answer. “We met in college. We had history class together and hung out a bit. Then he transferred and we didn’t talk for like ten years until I slid into his DMs doing my best Kris Jenner impression after that really shitty loss to the Chimeras.
We met for coffee and it evolved from there. ”
“You didn’t answer my question.” Katherine points out.
“The sex is phenomenal and that’s all you’re getting.” I shoot her a look.
“Just tell me, is he hung like a horse?”
I feel my cheeks heat up.
“She’s blushing.” Leanne points out. “That’s a yes!” Thankfully the inquisition gets cut short as kids and their families start to make their way around the event.
