Chapter 44 – Malcolm

Chapter Forty-Four

Malcolm

Lumen is hot around my cock as I dip inside her. It’s a noticeable difference in our body temperatures, but I’m too foggy to think too hard about what’s happening.

My hand digs into her hip as I slide the other up her back, fisting her hair. She’s so slick and warm. It’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced.

My instincts are all screwed up.

All I can think about is biting and breeding the omega, but Lumen is a beta.

It doesn’t matter.

I want to keep her.

The best way to do that is to bite her so she can’t get away.

Don’t do that until you’re sure she’ll accept, I remind myself.

Bonds can never be attempted with the same person again if they’re declined on the first try.

That would break my damn heart.

Her skirt falls, trying to block her ass, and I toss it back up before planting my hand on her hip.

It’s a battle to keep from slamming too deep, but that’s another thing I can’t risk. Even if she’s been knotted before, I didn’t spend nearly enough time prepping her. That means it’ll have to wait.

Sliding my hand around her front, I plant my palm on her tank top just under her breasts.

That’s another thing I should have done—pulling off her shirt.

Oh, well.

This should help ensure I can watch her tits bounce. Using my hold in her hair and my hand on her stomach, I yank her up until she’s on her knees.

“Holy shit, Mal,” she groans, bringing her hand to work her clit.

Her electric smell is heavy in the air, and my head is a hazy mess.

I can barely focus on how perfect this moment is because I have to concentrate on not fucking it up.

Her back falls against my chest, and it’s a much deeper sensual grinding than slamming thrusts.

Either way, it feels great.

No complaints on my end.

There was a reason I didn’t want to let myself get this close to her, but I can’t remember why. I cup her right tit, pinching her nipple between my tattooed fingers.

What I wouldn’t give to have a mirror to look into. I settle for watching her tits bounce from over her shoulder.

“You’re so damn beautiful, Lumen,” I growl close to her ear. “I’m going to be dripping out of you for days.”

She moans, clenching around my length.

My teeth grind together as I try to focus on anything outside of coming as deep as I can get inside her.

Holding her steady with my hand on her stomach, I thrust up into her, giving her hair a little tug.

She moans, trying to fall forward, but it’s the way her inner walls ripple around me that signals she’s close.

“Mmm, that’s it, baby doll,” I growl. “Come all over me. I want every woman at the after-party to smell you all over me.” My cheek falls to rest against the side of her head. “Make sure they all know I’m yours.”

She moans and bounces on her knees, grinding when my tip hits the bottom of her pussy.

The way she swivels her hips sends me over the edge.

My balls get tight, and my knot aches as it brushes her lower lips. It takes everything in me not to buck it up inside her.

Pleasure courses out through my body from the base of my spine, distracting me from doing something I can’t take back.

My vision goes spotty as my cock jumps, and I spill hot cum as deep as I can get.

There’s something so sexy about the fantasy of breeding her.

The reality?

Not so much.

At least, not for a few years.

I could probably handle a kid or two somewhere down the line, but I want to enjoy a solid few years being selfish with Lumen’s attention before we even think about adding crotch goblins.

Her electric scent smells more heavily of pears and roses than it normally does. It teases my system, screaming that she’s an omega in heat, but I keep myself from biting, even if it’s really damn hard.

Lumen continues swiveling her hips in a circle, grinding out every drop of my cum.

If I could see myself in a mirror, I’d probably look like that emoji with actual hearts for eyes.

I don’t know when I released her hair, but I wrap her up in a hug from behind as my chest heaves.

Her hand comes to rest over mine.

She’s so soft compared to me.

“Damn, Mal,” she says, sounding winded.

I kiss the back of her head like a total weirdo. “Yeah.”

Everything about her fits with me perfectly.

I’m so done for.

That thought should scare the hell out of me, but it doesn’t.

Not even a little.

Lumen and I walk into the meet and greet, hand in hand. I’m excited to get this over with so we can commence leaving for vacation, but I stop in my tracks when I spot the couple next to the drink station.

Well, fuck.

To be fair, I did tell them to come find me next year, but a lot has changed.

I grab Lumen by the waist, dragging her back out the door.

“What’s wrong?” she asks, blinking up at me.

Her eyes are so damn bright.

Sometimes they look more blue. Other times they’re more gray.

Right now they’re in the blue phase.

I can’t help myself. Backing her against the wall, I give her a quick kiss. “Just don’t be mad at me, okay?”

She snorts. “God, you are so bad at this.”

I frown because I don’t really know what this is.

Life?

Yeah, probably.

“You shouldn’t lead with insinuating someone is going to be upset.” She grips my hips, stretching up to kiss my cheek. “Okay, lay it on me.”

I tug her toward the door while hiding behind her as much as possible and point to the far wall. “You see that couple?”

“Yeah, why?” she asks, peeking at me over her shoulder.

“Ehh, I’ve hooked up with them two out of the last three years that we’ve been in Roanoke.”

Her forehead wrinkles. “Okay.”

Jesus.

She’s looking at me like she has no idea why I’m telling her this, and I begin to worry that I made the wrong call by being forthcoming.

No.

It’s better to give her a warning, so she isn’t shocked if it comes up.

“I don’t have much preference when it comes to bodies,” I say, shrugging. “I’d say I’ve hooked up with maybe seventy percent women, just because it’s easier to know they’re interested. They’re also available more often.”

“Huh,” she says, and my heartbeat picks up. “Now I’m jealous that I never put myself out there with women. It clicked the other day that I’ve cut myself off from half my dating pool by not being brave enough to flirt with ladies.”

“No flirting with anyone who isn’t me,” I growl, yanking her into my chest with a hand on her ass. “I mean, you can flirt with K and Riser, but we’re exclusive now.”

“We are.” Her long, dark lashes flutter. “So what’s the game plan?”

That’s a very good question.

“I guess I just wanted you to know ahead of time, in case it comes up.”

She smiles. “Thank you. That was thoughtful. I don’t like being ambushed by stuff like that.”

“Basically, just protect me, baby doll.”

“You’re ridiculous.” She laughs. “All right, princess. Come along. Let your girlfriend protect you from any awkward interactions with your past hookups.”

“Thank you,” I say, nodding.

I’m not sure what I did to make her fall against my chest, giggling like a fiend, but I love it.

I’ll have to figure it out so I can do it all over again.

She made me put on a shirt to come to the after-party, but I’m so covered in her scent, no one will be able to miss it.

Goddamn.

Being claimed by her is so sexy.

I didn’t know Tennyson, Parish, and Wren were coming with us to the resort, but it’s fine. This place is huge.

We brought our instruments with us, minus Riser’s full kit, since it’s a fucking pain in the ass to drag around. He brought his mini, though, which is enough to practice with.

I figure we’ll take a day or two off before we start working on new shit and practicing my song.

It might be after midnight, but this is Riser’s birthday party.

Music plays in the background, and we chill in the massive living room. It’s two stories and open to the hallway on the second floor. If it was colder, I’d ask to turn on the fireplace, but it’s just not at that level.

Although, it will be chilly when we chase Lumen around the hedge maze tomorrow night.

Tonight?

Whatever.

I never think of it as the next day until I sleep.

Tennyson sits on the floor in front of the chair Parish is chilling in with Wren. There were plenty of other open seats, but I think she’s proving a point.

And honestly, good for her.

She’s a grown woman.

She can do whatever she wants.

That’s slightly more complicated where Parish is concerned, since he and Ten are so close. I’m not sure what I would do if I were in a similar situation with Riser or Kincaid, but I’m just thankful I’m not.

Ten reaches into his back pocket and stretches over to Riser, holding something between his middle and pointer finger. “Happy birthday. Sorry it’s late, but this is from me and Parish.”

Wren’s eyes narrow, and I almost chuckle.

Those two have to go at it soon, or they might actually try to murder one another.

“I didn’t want to blow through them all at once, so I saved enough for a second night of fun,” Ten says as Riser takes the baggie. “I thought your birthday was a fitting excuse to bust these out.”

It’s filled with molly.

Damn.

This little vacation is the perfect time for that.

“Thanks,” Riser says, laughing.

Lumen sits in his lap, and she jostles around as he shoves them into his front pocket.

“I’ll go next.” I grab the small gift bag next to my feet and launch it at him. It hits Lumen in the tit, and I frown. “Sorry, baby doll.”

She laughs as Riser grabs it and digs in. He pulls out the piece of printer paper that says Happy birthday, fucker.

“I didn’t have time to get a card.” But I did make sure to pick up a gift card to his favorite tattoo artist. The guy is based out of Chicago, and we don’t get up there often, so I grabbed it when he got the skeletons on his hands touched up.

“I ended up having to tote that thing around in my wallet for almost an entire year so I didn’t lose it,” I say, grinning. “It’s for a grand.”

“Damn.” Riser smiles, shaking his head. “Thanks, Mal.”

“Well, now I feel like a shitty friend,” Kincaid says, glaring at me.

“Nah, you did all the research on this place and set it up,” Riser says before I can. “That’s a killer gift. I know this place couldn’t have been cheap.”

“You can share my gift,” Lumen says, scooping the wrapped present off the floor.

She tries to hand it over her shoulder to Riser, but he keeps it in her lap, likely to avoid smacking her with it.

I already know what it is, and he’s going to freak out. As he rips into the paper, I rub my hands together.

Kincaid pulls out his phone, and Riser pops open the special gift box the music shop carried for just this type of occasion.

“I’m sorry,” Riser chokes out. “Is this a signed Madness vinyl?”

“It sure is.” I smirk, nodding to Lumen. “It was all Lulu’s idea.”

She snorts, and I wink.

“Holy shit.” Riser chuckles. “I don’t know where you found this, but I love it.”

It was the last album they put out before Jamen Jacobs left the band.

It has Damian and Angel Rae Sinclair, and even that fucker Johnny Kincaid signed it.

The latter is a scumbag, but it’s special because Jamen Jacobs left before the later albums could be produced.

Not to mention, he started Ruined Records way back when.

Ry has been on the hunt for it for ages.

I couldn’t believe it when I spotted it, but I’m a good boyfriend, so I let Lumen take the credit.

“All right, now that’s out of the way,” Tennyson chimes in. “Can we commence partying?”

I point at him. “That sounds like a great plan.”

Parish chuckles. “Sorry, bro, we forgot a cake, but I can roll a blunt, and we can sing as we smoke.”

“I don’t even like cake,” Riser admits, still examining the album. “A blunt sounds perfect to me.”

I wiggle my eyes at Lumen. “We’re not out in public. You gonna smoke with us?”

High sex is good sex.

She shrugs. “Maybe I’ll take a hit or two.”

Well, damn.

It’s not even my birthday, but all of a sudden, it feels like it is.
