Chapter 46 – Lumen

Chapter Forty-Six

Lumen

Iwasn’t lying when I said I have no sense of direction. If I’m not careful, I’ll get so turned around that I ruin everything by coming back out the entrance I came in.

I have incentive to make it to the middle of the maze first, and my competitive nature kicks in pretty quickly.

If I get to the center before them, I get to be in charge, ordering the guys where I want them.

If one of them beats me there, they get to boss me around. Well, within my hard limits. I would use my safe word if I really needed it, but I’m also not going to pull it out willy-nilly. I like the idea of being able to test how far they push me.

The thing about this maze is that all four entrances feed in from a different direction, but they also lead to the same inner ring that runs the entire perimeter.

Kincaid warned me that this could be over very quickly if I don’t make it into the interior corridors before one of them catches sight of me.

It’s eerily quiet, and every crunch of my ballet flats against the gravel seems to echo in the air. This place would be amazing for a romantic walk under the moonlight, but I pick up my pace.

When I first came into the maze, I had to make the call to go left or right. I went right and followed it down. I finally hit my first opening where I can go left or continue straight. Taking the turn deeper into the maze seems like a safer call, based on what Kincaid said.

Light comes around the corner at the end of the corridor, and I have no idea why my system freezes.

My head tilts as the neon mask comes fully into view.

Malcolm.

At least, that’s my guess based on the tall, slender frame and the fact that’s the mask he wore during the Halloween week performances.

His hair falls around the mask, and those sweatpants of his barely hang on to his slender hips. He has to be thirty feet away, but I swear I can feel his excitement.

Luckily, my survival instincts kick in. I’ve been following the pathway at a brisk walk, but I get myself into gear, bolting through the opening.

I have three choices this time.

Straight ahead.

Left.

Right.

Right feels like it would lead deeper into the maze, but I’m also fairly sure that’s the route Mal will expect me to take.

Continuing straight ahead is easiest, mostly because it feels like making less of a decision, but then I realize, if I don’t hit another turn, Mal will be able to spot me.

I stumble on the uneven ground, barely managing to right myself before I face-plant.

Jesus.

I really have to be more careful, or I’m going to break an ankle.

Or my face.

I throw myself forward in kind of a running crouch and take the next turn.

A purple glow catches my attention, making my head swivel.

Riser casually lingers next to the hedge wall as I try to run past. He grabs me by a handful of my hair, pulling me upright and yanking me into his chest.

I squeal, but I’m so shocked that I don’t even fight him.

He tugs up his mask, rests it on the top of his head, and chuckles. “I’m not going to lie, I kinda hate these things, but I bet the aesthetic is cool.”

“It really is, but they don’t seem as bright as the ones you wore on stage.” I also much prefer being able to see his handsome face.

“They’re the version they made for us to wear in the interviews and after-parties.” He brushes his nose against mine, massaging my skull with his fingertips. “We straight-up told them to come up with something new before next Halloween because we won’t be wearing these again.”

“I like your normal masks better, anyway.” My chest rises and falls in rapid pants as I struggle to catch my breath.

“You’re going to have to be quieter as you move if you don’t want to give away your location,” he whispers, teasing his pillow-soft lips over mine.

His chamomile scent makes my entire body tremble, or maybe that’s extra adrenaline. Either way, my hands dig into his back as I drag my teeth over his lower lip.

He’s in a long-sleeve T-shirt, and it’s just as soft as always. He really does have an affinity for soft fabrics.

I end up lost to the meeting of our mouths, and he breaks the kiss.

“Go on, beautiful.” He nods down the corridor. “I don’t think any of us want this to be over this fast.”

“Right,” I agree, falling against him once more as I stretch up to give him a final kiss.

Goddammit.

Riser is a fantastic kisser, and I ache to climb him. I force myself to pull back, but it’s the last thing I want to do.

My skin sizzles, and my chest hums with a weird anticipation. It’s scary and exciting to imagine what it’ll feel like to be trapped between the three of them.

I take the first right that I come to, followed quickly by a left.

I have no idea which direction I’m headed.

Hell, I might find myself back at the mouth of the maze, or I might find one of the other exits.

Everything is hazy as I come to another crossroads. There are three more choices, but noise comes my way from the pathway straight ahead.

The tree branches rustle in the breeze, making it difficult to tell if someone is going to pounce on me whenever I come around a corner.

The gravel really doesn’t make it easy to stay quiet, but being caught by any of them sounds equally hot.

Goose bumps pebble on my skin as I check the sky. If I was smarter, I would have noted the moon’s position to help me navigate.

I almost laugh.

Even if I knew a fixed point, I wouldn’t be able to direct myself anywhere using it.

Everything looks the same, but the sound of crunching gravel on the other side of the trees makes me freeze. Someone is on the path parallel to mine, and I tilt my head, trying to figure out if they’re moving in the same direction as me.

By the time I catch the noise coming from behind me, someone is on me. He wraps his hand around my mouth from behind while the other lands on my middle. It takes only a few inhales to determine it’s Kincaid.

I’m lifted into the air, and he stretches back slightly, letting me rest against his chest. The lime-green neon glow gets slightly less intense, leading me to believe he just put his mask on the top of his head.

“Mmm, sweetheart.” He growls, nuzzling his cheek to the side of my head. “Your scent is so potent that I followed it right to you.”

“That seems unfair.”

He slides his hand down my stomach, cupping my pussy. His pointer and ring fingers work my labia as he pushes against my swollen nub with his middle.

“You must really wanna get fucked if you’re not even fighting me.” He chuckles ominously, and my body aches to give in.

The goal is to get railed by all three of them.

Right?

I want to be fucked and filled and covered in their cum.

At the same time, I want them to enjoy this activity.

Kincaid didn’t drop thousands of dollars for us to have a foursome in the middle of the maze. He spent all that money on the full experience.

Slamming my head back against his shoulder, I finally start to struggle.

My heels bounce into his shins, but it’s obvious…

I wouldn’t be able to get away from him if I tried.

That thought could be scary, but somehow it only amps up my arousal.

Sweat beads on my skin as I fight against his hold, sucking down deep hits of his hazelnut scent. He teases my pussy while still being able to keep me in place with just his hand on my sternum.

“You better get to the middle of the maze before the three of us,” Kincaid says in his low, growly tone. “You’re going to want to be the one calling the shots. Otherwise, you’re going to be sore tomorrow. We’re going to take turns using your tight little body, over and over again.”

My nipples tighten, and my core aches. His scent is so potent, and I’m getting hazier by the second.

“Aww, fuck.” K growls. “You like the sound of that. Huh, sweetheart? You enjoy knowing you’re about to wreck all three of us.”

I moan, nodding.

“Such a dirty girl,” he says, chuckling as he lets me slide down his front. “Goddamn, my dick is aching.” He makes sure I’m steady on my feet and pats my hips. “Better run fast. I’m going to be right behind you.”

If that’s supposed to be a threat, it came off more like a dark promise.

I shove my ass back into his sweats, grinding against his dick.

“I sure hope you guys live up to the expectations you’ve set.” I wink over my shoulder at him and take off.
