20. Chapter Twenty
Chapter Twenty
A dley sat down and joined Ariel, Macy, her mom, Ruthy, and Charlie.
It had been two weeks since the incident, as they were calling it.
Tonight, they were having a party to celebrate.
Shit Stain had decided to take a plea deal.
There’d be no trial and nothing more to deal with.
He’d recited to the DA everything he’d told Adley and even more.
His mom had had two more brothels or buildings that housed trafficked women and kids that she sold.
His mom must have had quite the temper for killing those who disappointed her because, all told, they unearthed fifteen bodies at the house where she’d been living.
They’d found a mass grave at every brothel with so many bodies thrown in that it would take months for them to separate the bones and figure out how many were buried.
Adley was so relieved she wouldn’t have to talk about what happened on the stand.
She hoped it didn’t make her a bad person, but she was happy that Stain would not only spend his life in jail, but the club had also ordered a Get Well delivery twice a month, which was random, so Stain would always be on edge.
Justice had asked Adley what she wanted from her office and had the prospects move it to his garage until her new office was done.
Ruthy had offered the building next to hers for Adley’s office.
Ruthy and the club actually owned the whole block.
The guy’s custom motorcycle shop and the garage they were opening were going in the vacant building on the other side of Adley.
Justice and she had decided to have offices together, which would allow them all to have a place for Ian.
Ian would have a place at Ruthy’s Flower Shop along with one at Justice and Adley’s office.
She might as well share an office, and then he wouldn’t need to have video and audio in her office.
She was grateful he was an overprotective man because him wiring her office had allowed them to have Ariel call and distract Shit Stain’s mom and rescue Adley and Macy.
Adley and Macy had been trying to make up to the prospect, FNG 2, because he took a bullet for them and slowed Stain down enough that Tack could get in place to shoot the woman.
Justice had said they needed to understand that when you were in a motorcycle club, you were willing to die for the club and quit babying the man.
However, Adley noticed that Justice had bought the prospect a new bike as a thank you.
Pit walked over and stood by the bar. “Alright, everyone, we’ve got to talk about something. I’m going to let Justice go first,” Pit said, motioning to Justice.
Justice walked toward the front carrying something black in his hands. “Adley, will you come up here?”
Adley stood and walked toward the man who she’d fought her attraction for until she realized he was the man for her.
He stood in front of her with that smirk she loved on his face and his baseball cap on backwards.
“Adley, even when you were flipping me off and not giving me the time of day, I was entranced.” Justice had to stop so all the hooting and hollering over her flipping him off could die down.
“But I had no idea the strength and fierceness you kept locked down. When you opened up to me, I thanked my lucky stars that you were giving me a chance. Now I’m asking you two more things: will you be my Ol’ Lady and ride with me until we can ride no more?
” he asked, holding up her cut that said Property of Justice on the back and Honey Badger on the front. She giggled and nodded.
“I will ride with you until we can’t ride anymore, and I will always be your fierce Honey Badger, fighting for our love and our family by your side,” Adley said, turning for Justice to slide it on for her.
He twirled her around, claiming her lips, but Adley was not going to be distracted again.
It had become Justice’s way to win a fight.
Kiss her until she gave in to whatever he wanted.
He said two questions, and she wasn’t missing one. She pulled back.
“Second question?” she asked.
Justice turned and lifted Ian out of Tack’s arms and then dropped to one knee. “Will you marry me, Adley? Be my wife and let me worship you for the rest of our life? Will you be Ian’s mom and promise to always love him too? Our lives won’t be complete without you tied to us.”
Adley let the tears splash down her cheeks at the sight of Justice holding Ian and the ring held in Ian’s hand with Justice holding it too.
“I will marry you and gladly be Ian’s mommy. You’ve both given me everything I could have ever asked for. Yes, a thousand times yes!!”
Justice slid the ring on her finger, and Adley kissed Ian’s cheeks, then kissed Justice. She didn’t think her heart could be any fuller. Justice led her over to a seat.
“Just a minute, Honey Badger, and we’ll celebrate.”
“Now, FNG 2, come up here,” Pit said. Justice stood with his face stern as the prospect walked up to them. Adley really hoped they were rewarding FNG 2 because she believed he had helped save them.
“We usually have prospects take a while to become brothers, and they do something horrendous, and we have to kick them to the curb,” Pit growled.
“Justice and Pres, please forgive me. I’m so sorry I didn’t save Adley and Macy. I understand I’m not the type of man you want in the club,” FNG 2 solemnly said.
Justice stuck his hand out. The prospect stared at him, then reached out like he wasn’t sure if Justice was going to shake his hand or throw him out. Once his hand was in Justice’s, Justice shook his hand and pulled him in for a hug, slapping his back.
“Thank you. You’re exactly the type of man I want helping to protect my family,” Justice said, and Adley swallowed to keep her tears at bay.
“FNG 2, for your bravery and fight, which gave the brothers time to get in place and take care of the threat, we are bypassing the last six months of your prospect period. From today forward, your road name is Shield because when we needed you the most, you placed your body in front of a brother’s woman to shield her. ”
Adley grinned as Pit helped Shield slide his cut on. She’d been so scared of the Saint’s Outlaws MC, but today was a good day to be a part of the family of the Saint’s Outlaws MC.
Justice stared at his woman’s flushed face and glowing eyes. She was holding her hand out and letting everyone ooh and aah over it. She turned back to him.
“When do you want to get married?” she asked.
Justice smirked. “Well, about that. Ariel and Pit didn’t get a honeymoon, and some of her family are joining some friends we know from Dodge City in a town in Colorado where it’s Christmas all the time, which coincidentally is Macy’s new client.
Your sister might have let me know how much you adore Christmas.
What would you say about a September wedding in about four weeks and having it be a destination wedding? ”
“I’d say sign me up. A Christmas wedding in September. Yes, yes, yes!” Adley yelled.
Macy walked up to Justice and slipped her arm around his waist. “You have made her so happy, but be prepared for her to want to set up the tree before Thanksgiving. If she could have it all year round, she would. I’ll check the books.
I wonder if they have a preferred customer status because I can see Adley wanting to visit there all the time, and with me doing their books, y’all could come when I need to go,” she said.
Now that he thought about it, if this town was as fun as Macy had said, maybe he should see about a house there. After they visited would be soon enough .
Ian was too young to enjoy Mistletoe Canyon, but Macy had said that there was a parade with Father Christmas, or Père Noel, which is what they called Santa Claus in Mistletoe Canyon, and that kids and adults could get pictures with Santa Claus.
Justice wasn’t going to admit it because Tack and Pit would probably tease him, but he might even get a picture with all three of them and Santa Claus.
He listened to his Ol’ Lady and soon-to-be wife chatting with his mom and aunt.
After the shooting, he’d had to spend some time convincing Adley that who her dad was and her bloodline didn’t matter.
What mattered was the life she’d chosen to live.
She’d had trouble sleeping and woke up screaming three nights in a row.
He’d finally told her that she needed to talk with someone besides him.
His mom had decided to do that too because she had such guilt that her decision had, in her words, caused this.
Justice didn’t feel that way at all. As far as he was concerned, she did what she was supposed to in helping children and abused women. That Stain, his sister, and mother chose not to take advantage of that was their loss.
Justice held his son and walked over to Pit, who was holding his son too.
“We’re pretty lucky men, aren’t we?” Justice asked.
Tack walked up and stood beside them. “How the heck did you two get so lucky?”
“I have no idea, but I do know the advice I’m going to be giving all of you from now on,” Pit said, kissing Teddy’s nose.
“And what’s that?” Tack asked.
“Don’t look for the easy women. Look for the women who make you work for it. Then, before that fierce woman realizes she could do better, kiss her senseless and wife that woman up. You marry a fierce woman, and you’ll never be bored,” Pit said.
Justice smiled at Pit. Yep, Pit was right. Justice would never be bored with his fierce Honey Badger. And maybe once they’d been married awhile, he could convince her to supply Ian and Teddy with another Saint’s Outlaw generation.
