7. Cassie
Chapter 7
Cassie
This place is really mega-super-nice.
I’m getting intense Daddy vibes too…
And I love it.
Cassie took a moment to assess her surroundings. She was standing just inside the door of Kane’s apartment.
The first thing she noticed was that there was a faint hint of smokiness in the air.
That was kind of Kane’s signature smell. On the way over, Kane had explained that no matter how much he showered or bathed, he just couldn’t quite eliminate the smell of fire.
Kane had tried everything .
Different combinations of aftershave.
All-natural scented shampoos.
He’d even had a full spa day and come out with the same hint of smoke on him.
Cassie didn’t mind it though.
If anything, she actually found it hot.
The subtle odor was a reminder of exactly how much of a man Kane was. A hero. He was brave, strong, and determined to help anyone who needed it. Just like the rest of his colleagues at the fire station, Kane deserved all the admiration he received.
Firefighters didn’t get paid anywhere near how much they should. This was common knowledge. But Cassie could see that Kane wasn’t motivated by money. Kane had higher values, the kind of ethics that made him stand out from the crowd.
The fact Kane was impossibly handsome may have played a part too. Cassie was still finding it next to impossible not to blush every time Kane smiled.
The dimples on his cheeks were to die for.
That Kane was so tough and gruff in every other sense merely amplified the cuteness of the dimples. All in all, he was an incredible package.
Cassie just didn’t know if she would ever get used to how sexy Kane was!
‘You’ve got a nice place,’ Cassie said, her voice showing a little hint of nerves. ‘It’s very grown up and mature. Much more than my place anyway!’
Kane stood in the hallway, the polished oak floor underfoot.
‘Well, that’s to be expected. Isn’t it?’ Kane chuckled, turning and continuing to walk towards the open plan living and kitchen area.
The walls were immaculately painted a perfect, bright white.
The occasional piece of art hung with unerring accuracy.
From what Cassie knew of other Daddies, attention to detail and having a set way of liking things at home was very much a Daddy thing.
Kane seemed no different in this regard.
In fact, Kane seemed every inch the Daddy.
Even down to the way he automatically started preparing Cassie a cup of warm coconut milk.
‘Cage told me that you and the other Littles couldn’t get enough of this stuff,’ Kane said, taking great care as he heated up the milk and poured it out into a pale blue mug. ‘Screw it. I’ll have a cup myself. It might make a change from downing another double espresso.’
Cassie giggled.
She felt giddy.
Such was the thrill of being in Kane’s apartment and being treated like a Little, she almost forgot the traumatic circumstances that had brought her to this point.
This was a good thing.
A very good thing in fact.
Ever since the fire, Cassie’s mind had been going round and round in circles. The subscribers to her comic had all seemed very understanding to her predicament.
There certainly hadn’t been any complaints.
But Cassie also knew that if she wasn’t able to produce content, there was every chance that her growing fanbase would simply move on.
Cassie had seen this happen with other creators who hadn’t been consistent in their output, and she wasn’t arrogant enough to think she would be any different.
Being in Kane’s company, and especially as they were at his home, was certainly helping to divert Cassie’s thoughts.
‘I love how there’s a mix here of old and new,’ Cassie said, looking over towards the corner of Kane’s living area where he worked on his tech and hacking projects. ‘That’s a pretty awesome set-up you’ve got. I’ve never seen so many computer screens in one place!’
Kane smiled as he handed the cup of warm milk to Cassie.
‘Uh huh, thank you,’ Kane said, a smile forming. ‘If you’re good, I’ll let you sit on my big black chair and have a go on the computers yourself. You’d be surprised how easy it is to pick up.’
‘You’re probably a great teacher too,’ Cassie said, realizing that if she wanted some flirtation, it seemed like Kane was very much up for it. ‘I bet you’re quite strict?’
Kane grinned.
The heat between them was rising.
‘I’ve been known to be, yes,’ Kane said. ‘I was so lucky to get this place. It’s rare that these old gothic-style buildings become available. I just had to jump in. I always joke that the combination of the tall ceilings and gothic appearance makes it look like the Bat Cave when you add in the computers and electronics.’
‘It really does!’ Cassie said, giggling. ‘You’d look pretty impressive in a Batman outfit. All strong, serious, and masculine. Sexy and a bit scary. Just like you.’
Cassie blushed.
She wondered if she had taken things too far.
After all, they hadn’t had any kind of talk about what the boundaries of their relationship were. Sure, Kane had earlier mentioned something about rules, but that wasn’t anything to do with their relationship.
Or was it?
‘Okay, kid, it’s time for a tour,’ Kane said, ignoring Cassie’s embarrassment and proceeding in business-like fashion. ‘Finish your milk and leave the cup on the counter. I’ll wash it later.’
‘Yes, thank you,’ Cassie said, delighting inwardly with how commanding Kane was being. Cassie loved how firm, but also fair, Kane seemed.
Cassie also thoroughly enjoyed the sight of Kane walking around the corridors of his apartment, reaching out with his long, strong arms to point out various nooks, crannies and original details that remained from when the building was erected.
In fact, as interesting as what Kane was saying was, Cassie could barely hear a single word of it…
That tushy… I can’t stop staring.
And that big snake at the front of his jeans…
It’s too much!
‘Hey, are you listening?’ Kane asked, a hint of impatience in his voice. ‘It’s not every day I give someone a guided tour, you know?’
Cassie could feel her cheeks burning with shame.
The last thing she wanted was to come over as rude.
But she could hardly tell Kane what had caused her mind to wander so wildly away from what Kane was saying. Whatever that was.
‘Um, sorry, I’m just… distracted,’ Cassie said, trying her best to sound convincing. ‘I am listening. Just maybe not as well as I could be. I’ll do better!’
Kane rolled his eyes and continued to give the tour.
Next stop, the bedroom.
‘That’s a big bed. A really, really, extra big bed!’ Cassie said, her eyes wide open as she took in the sight of Kane’s bedroom. ‘You could fit four people in there!’
‘Well, I don’t know about that. There’s definitely room for two,’ Kane replied, stepping into the room.
Cassie was taken aback by not only the size of the bed, but the incredible view out from the floor to ceiling window opposite. Kane’s bedroom looked right out on to a lovely local park area.
‘This must be a wonderful view to wake up to every morning,’ Cassie said, dreamily and already fantasizing what it would be like to do so herself.
‘It is. I do so many night shifts though, it’s not all that frequent. I sometimes end up falling asleep at my computers. So there’s that too,’ Kane said, a hint of regret in his voice. ‘Also, one too many beers and I crash on the couch. Life is busy. These things happen.’
‘Well, if I was you, I’d be getting all cozy in this bed every single night I could,’ Cassie replied, running her hand over the bright white duvet that ran over the length of the bed. ‘My only comment is you could maybe do with a touch of color in here. You know, just a splash here and there maybe?’
‘ Hmmm . A little bit forward, don’t you think?’ Kane growled, momentarily looking serious before breaking out into a big smile. ‘Here, look at this. I want to show you something.’
Cassie stood in awe as Kane walked over to her at the window overlooking the city. It felt intense to be so close to Kane.
Exciting.
A little bit intimidating.
Cassie knew that Kane was a man mountain. More than capable of doing whatever he wanted to her. But at the same time, Cassie felt like she could trust Kane implicitly.
Unlike her former Daddy, Kane seemed to have only good vibes. Cassie could never imagine him being cruel or putting her down.
They didn’t know each other well, that couldn’t be denied.
But one thing Cassie felt certain of was that Kane had a solid gold heart. One that was big enough and strong enough to help Cassie through this tough time in her life.
Cassie then felt her entire body react as Kane put his heavy arm over Cassie’s shoulder and point towards what looked like a small café near the park’s central lake.
‘See there? Best fucking coffee in the city,’ Kane said, his voice full of hunky, lusting desire. ‘The hipsters haven’t discovered it yet, so you rarely have to wait in line. But trust me, it’s just incredible. We should go.’
Cassie loved how passionate Kane was over the coffee.
Although she wasn’t a huge coffee fan herself, Cassie was still excited to take a trip there if it meant spending time with Kane.
‘Yay! Shall we go now?’ Cassie asked, already half-turning to leave the bedroom. ‘Maybe I could have an iced coffee? It is pretty hot outside.’
But before Cassie could move any further, she felt Kane swing his arms around her waist and practically toss her up in the air.
‘Woah! What’s happening?’ Cassie exclaimed, her heart racing as Kane caught her and casually tossed her over his shoulder. ‘Are you going to carry me to the park?’
‘The park can wait. We’ve got a contract to read and sign,’ Kane said, his voice full of certainty and total control of the situation. ‘It’s obvious which way this relationship is going. We need to make sure we’re on the same page. Have an understanding of our likes, dislikes. Boundaries. What do you say?’
Cassie could feel her heart beating harder than ever.
For a moment, she struggled to speak as her voice wavered with the thrill of being up high on Kane’s impressively broad shoulder.
‘Y-y-y-yes, please. I’d really like that, Daddy,’ Cassie said, her sex tingling as she uttered the D-word. ‘Thank you for looking after me.’
‘I’d say follow me, but you’ve really got no option right now,’ Kane laughed, striding purposefully out of the bedroom and down the hallway toward the kitchen.
Cassie’s head was spinning.
This was surreal.
It was like something from a late-night fantasy.
Being picked up and carried around by a Daddy Dom.
It was the stuff of dreams. Erotic ones.
It was time to read and then sign the contract. Cassie had never done anything like this before. It was a new step. But one that she was glad to be doing with Kane by her side.
Cassie’s work may still have been locked away inside her damaged equipment, but all of a sudden, her personal life was looking a whole lot brighter.
And it was all down to Kane.
